I’ve had luck removing mineral buildup in my toilet bowl with Lysol Lime and Rust toilet bowl cleaner, just poured it under the rim and at the water line, let it sit for anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour and it easily removed any build up. I tried the Barkeepers Friend liquid to try and remove some rusting that developed on the textured vinyl coating on the exterior of my fridge (due to humidity), it did nothing.

The vegetable brush from Dollar Tree...you could do a video on this alone. I use it to clean the bottom of my shoes, soft scrubber for carpet stains, I have a separate one to clean out my hairbrush, doubles as a nail brush, I use it for SO.MANY.THINGS. Everything BUT cleaning vegetables!😂

After watching this video, I tried the rinse aid (Finish) on my wooden kitchen cabinets. It took off grime/grease. You need to scrub with toothbrush for the corners or tough stains, and then wipe with dry microfiber, but I'm well pleased with how it cleaned the cabinets.

For the toilet, use a plunger before cleaning so that the water goes down a little bit. It keeps the cleaning product from getting diluted as you use the white erase sponge (great idea by the way). I can’t wait to try this combo! Thanks for this!

You can pour extra wq water in the toilet n all the water will drain out. I use my bathroom garbage can. Fill it about 3/4 and pour it in. I have also used this hack when my toilet is plugged

Instead of using a Post-It note to clean your keyboard, try using a sticky sheet of lint remover. I don't use this because I have a different type of keyboard that really gets crumbs and such in between the keys. I use a pointy pair of tweezers and pick the stuff out and I will turn my keyboard over and gently tap it to let the debris fall out.

I clean my granite counters and all SS appliances with diluted alcohol that is the ingredient that’s prominent in the cascade rinse(but cost much less)! Shines everything up beautifully. Can add a few drops of essential oils to make it smell like you like. 😊

Andrea Jean, I saw this hack after I started WFH due to Covid...use kids slime (I buy buckets of it on clearance at DG at the end of summer)...a little bit rolls over your keyboard and doesn't stick, but grabs every loose dust particle or crumb!!

Here is a tip: if you want to freshen your toilet during the day between uses AFTER you had cleaned it earlier: dissolve 2 denture cleaner fizzies in very WARM ( but not too hot) tap water...in a mason jar ...after the fizzies have dissolved and it foams up....pour it up around the inside of the toilet...AFTER YOU HAD FLUSHED IT...the denture cleaners clean ( and smell fresh) your toilet between uses and between cleanings...most people either clean their toilet in the mornings or in the evenings...and not everyone can afford to clean it daily...they opt for every other day...the denture cleaners help keep it clean between cleanings...you can get a 120 box for about $5 - $6 dollars...the 120 box easily lasts a month.

I love Bar Keepers! It worked to remove a purple shampoo stain from the bathtub.
I just watched a documentary about 3M and PFOS - forever chemicals. Scotchguard has a new formula, but it contains PFBS, which may still have harmful effects. If you use it, I recommend that you wear gloves, a mask (preferably a respirator), make sure the room is well vented and let it dry for 24-48 to as long as you can, before sitting on treated furniture. Alternatively, you may want to use a "green" product called Vectra that does not contain harmful chemicals. No affiliation.❤
Thank you for your always entertaining and useful tips!!!

Sometimes the cleaners leave a residue behind which then your children put their hands on top of again ( even if you don't see it because it's "dry" ., The chemicals don't just evaporate off the surface.
I would wipe off with a cloth and some distilled water and then dry to try to make sure that residue is not staying on the surface as much as possible 🙏💜

I use to buy cleaning products but moved to a home with a septic system and was told to be careful with what i put down the drain. I use vinegar and baking soda for most things. I use to buy "jet dry" for my dishwasher but found vinegar works just as good and cheaper, but i haven`t found a good stainless cleaner so i might purchase and try jet dry for that purpose.

    • @Susan70003
      @Susan70003 8 місяців тому

Same here. I use the vinegar instead of jet dry. I learned not to consume any vinegar so I had to have a way to use up my stored vinegar. Vinegar is not healthy. It eats your teeth from the inside out. It pickles your pancreas. Use in the dishwasher and for cleaning instead.

So ironic. We're selling our house and today we were having a showing, and so, I cleaned our shower which a a HUGE shower, and I decided to use the toilet wand thing on the walls and floor of the shower, and OMG, it worked like magic. This was BEFORE I saw this vid, mind you. So weird, but what's weirder is that I've never used the wand in the shower before today, and then I saw this vid posted. I was blown away by the freaky coincidence. And yeah, it works.

Try baby oil to clean fingerprints and spots from your stainless steel appliances. Wipe with the grain. Works great and smells nice.

Fyi, when blow drying your hair, focus on drying near scalp. The rest will dry faster.

Stopping the video at 1:54 to go down stairs to try the stainless hack. The last thing I said before bed; I’ll never buy stainless again! I’m going back to white LOL I’ll be back after I try this.

I'm back to review the stainless hack. I only owned some 'jet dry' so I can't speak to 'cascade'. 5 stars. Seriously. Every night before bed I give the evil eye to my fancy sink. Cutting board, strainer, drainer, some kind of raised dish protector grid on feet for the bottom. HATE HATE HATE. Never could get rid of the tiny spots and drip marks on the sides of it. I was so happy I moved on to the dishwasher, garbage can, can opener! (I want to go to the neighbors and do theirs because I ran out of stainless) Wait! Do the black on the back of the stove, YES, yes yes, as Sally said. Glass cleaner and all the other things people have mentioned I've tried. Nothing gave me results like this. When I run out I'll buy the cascade brand. Next stop? The shower with a toilet wand. LOLOL AndreaJean, I've been here since all we could see were your thumbs. You're great!

I used the rinse aid on my stainless steel appliances and thought I ruined them all! They looked streaky and filmy! Plus felt gummy! Perhaps I should have used cascade but you said “any rinse agent “. Luckily I polished like crazy with Weimans and it finally came off! So, just saying that certainly didn’t work for me. Love your tips but please be careful with your recommendations.

I can’t believe you went in that deep to the toilet bowl by hand. Even with gloves I can’t do it. When I clean the ring I just turn off the valve and then put the cleaner.
