Just now seeing this record breaking jump over Felix Baumgartner’s record. The huge discrepancy in publicity & awareness I think vividly demonstrate the massive power in influence the (biased) media & money can do, especially on an inattentive population.
How did I not hear about this? Felix's jump got worldwide attention and press coverage. I think his jump was the first livestream I ever watched on UA-cam. Why did Eustice not get any press coverage? Weird. Probably because it wasn't promoted by Redbull
This event does not get the recognition it deserves. Somehow Felix and Red Bull are more well known. I only learned about the jump when I visited the Smithsonian and saw the suit on display!
This is honestly so disrespectful to Felix. Alan pulled his parachute while he was still in space, almost immediately after being released, he never achieved supersonic speed like Felix... I understand that’s dangerous; however, after almost passing out from spinning in supersonic free fall, Felix still stuck the landing... Alan ate shit, and then they all celebrated for him breaking the world record. It’s not the same jump. Felix’s record still stands. Felix actually jumped too, and wasn’t released.
John Elliott : it’s not disrespectful at all, certainly not as much as your comment. What Alan did is different from what Felix did, both are extraordinary. Felix can claim many records and firsts from his jump. Alan for now has the highest descent. Alan going and doing it his way has nothing to do with disrespect.
I bet Alan would have said no to having that drogue chute if he’d have known that UA-cam would be obsessed with Baumgartners jump just cos he never had a mini chute on the way down and Felix stepping out of that capsule was a very cinematic move. I think Alan was heroic, shame he never video’ed ALL of it. You tube only seems to recommend the Baumgartner jump and touts it AS IF the current record holder. Alan should promote his world record altitude more.

Why don't you at least try and educate yourself instead of posting crap? In less than one minute I found this, maybe you should try it too? While no one can ever guarantee a weather balloon will soar to a specific height, the balloons typically reach between 60,000 and 105,000 feet. However, the highest recorded weather balloon flight on record was launched in 2002 and soared to an incredible height of 173,000 feet.15 Jun 2020 Just in case you can't work a calculator either, that is 32.765 miles!
@@rogerblackwood8815 Not sure why you are being so condescending, and unlikeable. Maybe I posted so somebody with more insight could clarify, I already asked google which is why I was confused that he was able to gain an extra mile. Lastly how am I supposed to know the record height for a weather balloon right off hand? One would assume a weather balloon with a 3-400 pound load would have a hard time reaching its standard altitude let alone reach a record breaking height. If that's a record then I assume most don't typically travel that high. So please you unlikeable troglodyte take your miserable self, and go elsewhere. This is simply the difference between google and redbull. Google made it so simple there was no tumbling, no space vehicle etc, yet they achieved the objective of jumping from that altitude. Felix jump may have captured more info as it was a free fall. Felix must be thinking after watching this redbull nearly killed me.
I happened to watch the documentary on Netflix and was astounded. Sad to see a few crybabies here with comments of jump vs freefall and the attempt being fake as balloons can't travel high enough. Internet is wrecking a few minds. Huge salute to both these daredevils. However it's amazing that Alan's jump made no marketing noise and I guess would be not even half the budget of RBS. And do consider a 57 year old man fulfilling his bucket list of free falling from space. If that doesn't make people smile in appreciation and rather crib about- they need therapy. I would suggest people watch the documentary on Netflix "14 minutes from earth" and why Alan's jump is even more special sans all the hoopla created around it unlike RBS.
Hell yeah lol that was a regular airborne landing hahah. Felix had a cooler video but I respect this dude more because of that epic face plant plf! Like he jumped from a C130. Felix landed on his feet…
Watch the documentary on Netflix. He had a gps tracker on the suit so they would know where to find him if he went off line. He did not have the ability to take the helmet off himself and when his oxygen ran out he would be suffocated.
He looked as if he was in a capsule that resembled human extremities. although the sudden stop would ha e the same effect, the "capsule" takes away the "skydiver" effect maybe
Felix Baumgartner dived out head first which sent him into a horrifying spin. This guy here Learnt from that so he was dropped standing to reduce the aerodynamics interference on his posture. Felix paved the way for this guy and others to come. His video is also more satisfying to watch.
I'd have to say it was Joseph Kittinger who paved the way for Felix after setting the record doing this in 1960, and then working as the mission director for Felix's jump.
he didn't dive out head first, he dropped in a stable position. spinning was probably caused from atmospheric winds because before he started spinning he was stable.

Just now seeing this record breaking jump over Felix Baumgartner’s record. The huge discrepancy in publicity & awareness I think vividly demonstrate the massive power in influence the (biased) media & money can do, especially on an inattentive population.

He look like a rolling dice

How did I not hear about this? Felix's jump got worldwide attention and press coverage. I think his jump was the first livestream I ever watched on UA-cam. Why did Eustice not get any press coverage? Weird. Probably because it wasn't promoted by Redbull
Alan jumped a full mile higher then felix.
*than
*dropped
And where did his legs go after landing?
wtf! i just found out about this guy! this is really unfair to him
I wonder how nobody is happy about his arrival back......
Felix did it without drogue chute, but we all saw that loooong scary spin...
This event does not get the recognition it deserves. Somehow Felix and Red Bull are more well known. I only learned about the jump when I visited the Smithsonian and saw the suit on display!
When Felix jumped he went thru a phase of spinning which could of killed him. This jump was higher but none of that
Because Alan used a drogue parachute while descending.
He wasn’t trying to break the record this jump was for science
@@johnelliott1204 Felix did 843.6 mph and Alan 822 mph, not a HUGE difference (and both are supersonic BTW).
Congratz Alan (well, we're quite a bit late to the party. Confirmed)
BTw, what was plan be if that release mechanism would have stuck?
I knew that Felix record could be beat. Joe Kittinger did not really know if it was going to work. That was much more brave.
An achievement hard to come by makes a Legend.
From this level of top view ALAN :- "I clearly saw the Kim jongs nuclear missile , launched from the North Korea and destroyed in space 😂😂🤣🤣
man do people really need to say it's a fake just cause it's not sponsored and had bad video quality
Sad that not a lot of people head about this record considering the fame that have Felix Baumgartner. Red Bull marketing is strong.
Alan who when was this 2014 never heard of it
I had absolutely no idea this happened!
02:55 does anyone know the name of music?
I bet Alan would have said no to having that drogue chute if he’d have known that UA-cam would be obsessed with Baumgartners jump just cos he never had a mini chute on the way down and Felix stepping out of that capsule was a very cinematic move. I think Alan was heroic, shame he never video’ed ALL of it. You tube only seems to recommend the Baumgartner jump and touts it AS IF the current record holder. Alan should promote his world record altitude more.
ALAN DID NOT BREAK THE RECORD Felix still holds the record this man in the video faked it
The king Of reptiles Luis Vasquez he didnt I think it's because Allan did this independent while the others were corporate
Get a life, you comment on every Single comment here, lying bro
Why was the camera at his face, I'm trynna see his view
Because this was all done by dumbass old people that don’t understand cinematography angles. The footage itself looks like it was shot on a gropro hero 3, it wasn’t edited except to add the fucking pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack 🙄 old people fucking suck lol

No,
I wonder if Felix will try to break his record.
Where’s the telemetry data?! Why was there no more coverage of this?
Carlos Baquero watch the documentary 8 mins to earth on netflix
The part that confuses me is how did he jump from 25 miles if weather balloons pop at 24 miles?
Why don't you at least try and educate yourself instead of posting crap? In less than one minute I found this, maybe you should try it too?
While no one can ever guarantee a weather balloon will soar to a specific height, the balloons typically reach between 60,000 and 105,000 feet. However, the highest recorded weather balloon flight on record was launched in 2002 and soared to an incredible height of 173,000 feet.15 Jun 2020
Just in case you can't work a calculator either, that is 32.765 miles!
Just because you hate your life doesn't mean you can belittle people for asking questions. The point of asking a question is to acquire information.
Do yourself a favor and look up the Sally Anne test you. You should probably seek help.
@@rogerblackwood8815 Also I googled it again just to verify what I said. The 1st option on google says Weather balloons can rise to an altitude of 24 miles (39 kilometers) or more before they burst, and a payload may land (via parachute) up to 75 miles (120 km) away, depending on wind conditions at the launch site, Maydell said."
So then I decided to ask what's the highest a weather balloon has traveled just to check your reference and it states "While no one can ever guarantee a weather balloon will soar to a specific height, the balloons typically reach between 60,000 and 105,000 feet. However, the highest recorded weather balloon flight on record was launched in 2002 and soared to an incredible height of 173,000 feet".
So please tell me again how uneducated I am you condescending, self centered, opinionated buffoon.
@@kylehayes6432 Sorry to have ruffled your feathers Mr Snowflake. You asked the initial question with a large dose of scepticism! That's why I said do what you appear to have now done, before asking dumb questions. Then here you ask "How am I supposed to know off the bat"? Guess what genius, neither did I know OFF THE BAT, so I used the amazing piece of technology in my hands to find out, BEFORE ASKING A DUMB QUESTION! That is how I ended up here, I was researching Felix Baumgartners jump and came across Alan Eustace's jump!
And you can take your infantile insults and shove em were the sun don't shine as I am more than happy with my life, I guess it is you who needs to see Aunt Sally or whatever her name is?
@@kylehayes6432 Notice the "OR MORE" in the Google report? That means it is not a definite! A weather balloon isn't like a car you buy in the showroom that has published performance figures. Meaning they are built to spec for a specific purpose. If you look on FR24.com you will see yellow ball icons floating around various locations, with a readout of around 52000 feet, not the 126720 feet you expect EVERY WEATHER BALLOON to reach! Why's that then genius? These are weather balloons too, studying the upper atmospheric winds, why don't they go up to 24 miles?
Condescending I accept, uneducated, self centred or Buffoon I take offence to wanker! And if I was a snoflake like yourself, I would probably be reaching for the phone to report a hate crime now! But instead I will get on with my day and smile at your stupidity! Cheers and try not to be so offended so easily in future as you may find life a little more enjoyable? Have a 🍺 on me 😁

This is simply the difference between google and redbull. Google made it so simple there was no tumbling, no space vehicle etc, yet they achieved the objective of jumping from that altitude. Felix jump may have captured more info as it was a free fall. Felix must be thinking after watching this redbull nearly killed me.
For those wondering why this jump didn't get as many views or hype as Felix. One was sponsored by Redbull and the other wasn't.
you know who was behind this jump? a little company called Google
And your source is your bum? He worked for google but payed out of his own pocket.

4:08 when i landed.
You mean when he landed?
Lol he is trying to be him awh
I'll let you have your moment
Does anyone know how much this project cost him ?
You're right...this jump was so much smarter
Tbh you kinda sound like a cry baby defending this with a massive paragraph
no one knows about this until UA-cam recommend it
Alan's jump beat Felix's but no one knows about it. Why? No sponsorship.
Sad that even Science has to be monetized these days...
Can we all appreciate that solid PLF at the end?
Hell yeah lol that was a regular airborne landing hahah. Felix had a cooler video but I respect this dude more because of that epic face plant plf! Like he jumped from a C130. Felix landed on his feet…
I never understood how there was a person waiting for as soon as he landed from space with a camera. Like how can someone even time that?
They follow his trajectory and get a lot of money for the picture
Watch the documentary on Netflix. He had a gps tracker on the suit so they would know where to find him if he went off line. He did not have the ability to take the helmet off himself and when his oxygen ran out he would be suffocated.

Generally, Red Bull kills people who consume over time but they tried to kill Felix in one day. Lol.
Where is the limuth of gravitacion??
Felix Baumgartner dived out head first which sent him into a horrifying spin. This guy here Learnt from that so he was dropped standing to reduce the aerodynamics interference on his posture.
Felix paved the way for this guy and others to come. His video is also more satisfying to watch.
Lmaooo someones hurt 🤣🤣🤣
I'd have to say it was Joseph Kittinger who paved the way for Felix after setting the record doing this in 1960, and then working as the mission director for Felix's jump.
he didn't dive out head first, he dropped in a stable position. spinning was probably caused from atmospheric winds because before he started spinning he was stable.
