This is the only celebrity death that really affected me and I feel like I lost a dear friend. He was my idol. I, being a 35 year old chef, half French from New Jersey, wanna be writer, problems with substance abuse, a bleak look on life, this was the guy I turned too. Not only for entertainment but his story began like my story. He didn't really find some kind of success till in his 40s. He fought his substance abuse problems and made it and got to live out his dreams. But before that I fell in love with him as an entertainer. He was different then all the other travel/food shows. He touch true, truthful and emotional subjects. He wasn't afraid to be himself nor afraid to say what he disliked with no apologies. He was what I was striving to be but now this. All that hard work to just end it yourself before your time was supposed to be up. Makes me just wanna give up if a guy like him fought so hard and got success and still wasn't good enough then why bother. I don't wanna fight through all this to still wanna off myself in a few decades. RIP Tony you will be missed
Hey man, don't give up and don't give in to your demons. You've done good so far so don't look back. If I've learned anything from Anthony Bouradain its to move forward by accepting what was and has been.
if your only goal in life is success and money, you will probably find it is an illusion. try always to help other people, that is the most fullfilling thing there is in life!
Ya you guys are right and thanks for the kind words just was feeling bummed out. He least made it so I got awhile to go lol. If any of you really want to see how talented he was I highly suggest reading his book "Kitchen Confidential" its one of the best reads I ever had. Plenty of food knowledge with a mix of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Right on par with the likes of Hunter S. Thompson.
Dan LaBrecque Look at the shear amount of places Bourdain got to travel. He got to sample foods and cultures from all over the world. Yet he still stayed the same sarcastic, no BS, chef that we loved from Day One. I think he poimted out to all of us that life isn't about how successful you are in the end. It's about enjoying the adventures and the time we have :)
MrPeppermintPatty my girlfriend is from the Dominican Republic, the food and culture they have is so beautiful and rich, I’m glad by her I get to be apart of that culture
Eva Rekkers I think I'll miss him everyday for a lo-o-ong time -- until the next genuinely unique, intelligent, forceful & humanistic public personality comes along... I can't believe he's gone. Thank you!
The world will never be the same without him. He's really the inspiration for everyone in uniting cuisines and culture together. The most fond memories that be treasured the most was his visit to the Philippines for which he loved the lechon, the sisig and halo-halo and even complimented that the Filipino cuisine can be shown to the world of its unique taste, making my filipino compatriots being proud of the way he speak, frankly. RIP Anthony Bourdain. Thank you for your legacy. It shall be cherished forever.
He was literally Mr.Worldwide. Visited many countries , well known to the unknown, and treated each culture with the up most respect and at the same time stand by his opinions. He is an example of how everyone should act when coming across unfamiliar cultures. And he portrays his adventures with a well written story. Rest In Peace A.B.
I am glad that i had some opportunities to translated some of his documentaries. And also, glad to see him do the program in Thailand too. His programs are never get old by the way.
Anyone out there with depression and who's also a fan of Anthonys, i advise you to avoid all the videos about him for a while; i myself have depression and anxiety and i was shocked by the news yesterday and today i woke up almost dizzy and down. Take a break from all the social media and other internet stuff and go out for a good walk, listen to some positive music and enjoy your day; today i went for a big walk with my father and the dog and i felt much better. To cut it short, i started working as a chef because of Anthony Bourdain, he came to Ireland in one of his episodes from No Reservations and when he was in Dublin he went to a town called Howth and visited the King Sitric seafood restaurant, i told my dad about it and he said that one of the guys from work is friends with the owners son, one day i'm in my garden bored at home and my dad got back and said ''you know that place you were telling me about?'', i said ''yeah'', he said basically ''i got you a job there''. I went a few days later and they gave me the job, i mentioned Anthony Bourdain and they all said how much business they made from all the American tourists since his visit. I heard about it through him and it was the best job i have ever had, i got paid loads, and i would come home and watch maybe: A cooks tour, No reservations, Parts unknown, the Layover, Raw craft; he came to Dublin that year in 2016 to record an episode of The Layover which was also great; i would go to other places in Dublin just because he was there. As i said i feel a lot better now but only because i got up off my ass and gave myself some tough love, i'm unemployed now but i have a trial in another restaurant next week and i'm not going to let my mind beat me, because you're not your thoughts, your ego, you're the awareness behind it all and maybe, just maybe if we had more holistic and spiritual approach to life in the west we would not have this crisis of suicide like we do today with too much emphasis on: shopping, tv talent shows, alcohol consumption is encouraged and advertised in sports games, wrong wrong wrong. I know what i'm doing now, watching some comedy and laugh. Don't let the sneaky snake creep into your head and try to be more alert, the work of Gurdjieff has kept me going, Alan Watts, Ram Dass, Eckhart Tolle. Take it easy, we're one big strong family here on this planet, if i can manage my depression so can you, people love you. Peace
My son (47) and I finally agreed on one tv choice and have watched Anthony Bourdain for many, many years and enjoyed his programs. We will miss him very much!! For all the hard work, travel to 80 countries, educating us on food, people and views I cannot help that he was a depressed and lonely man with no family to greet him at the airport, home cooked meals, and kisses goodnight. I hope he has inspired others to stop and smell the roses and know when it is time to treat ourselfs to finally saying enough is enough!!I remember the line from Out Of Africa---When the gods want to punish they give you what you want!! All the fame, and money left only a depressed and lonely man we will miss!! Our blessings to his family.
I saw him in person along with Eric Ripert on the IU campus in Bloomington, Indiana. I began watching him on the Food Channel and never missed a show. His wit, frankness and way of becoming an accepted guest in the homes and restaurants all over the world just blew me away. I also thought he was incredibly handsome, which is a plus! I still can't believe he is gone. It leaves an empty ache in my heart. I wish I could have met him, and had the chance to talk with him for just a few minutes. I hope he is at peace now. Praying for his family; especially his daughter, Ariane.
I NEVER FELT THIS TYPE OF EMOTIONAL PAIN ABOUT ANY KIND OF CELEBRITY EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I FEEL LIKE I JUST LOST MY BEST FRIEND. THANK YOU ANTHONY BOURDAIN FROM ALL THESE WONDERFUL YEARS OF WATCHING YOU ANTHONY BOURDAIN I AM SURE THAT I WILL MISS YOU. IT COMES FROM MY BROKRN HEART RIP ANTHONYY BOURDAIN
My god, so hard to hear. "he was" instead of he is. I loved Anthony Bourdain's shows because of how he melded deep respect for the cultures and histories of all,the places he traveled to along with his love of food. He was also hella sarcastic, and I love me a sarcastic man!! RIP Anthony Bourdain, thanks for trying to bring the world together, you are missed!!
That guy was a legend, The way he presented his show was something new something very unlike other TV shows out there, he is going to be missed very badly may his soul rest in peace.
My favourite Bourdain moment is when he finally visited Finland (my home country) and made the whole episode a huge joke about Finland. The Finnish people either loved or hated that episode. Rest in Peace Bourdain, you will be missed.
I'm still in awe as to why this beloved man of the world has decided to do away with himself, until I had read that he had suffered from Depression. He will be sorely missed. (RIP) and Godspeed Mr. Bourdain.
One of my most favorites was his visit to Croatia. It made me want to go there. And OF COURSE his trek up the river in the Congo. That was definitely some of his best writing
My hero. I start Kitchen Confidential on a flight. I remember putting the book down and either laughing or saying holy shit under my breath. I exited the plane, sat down in the terminal and finished the book. I am heartbroken.
Tony was an icon in travel and culinary curiosity. But he represented so much more than that. Us fans know he had the soul of a poet, but he was a avatar for us all to throw ourselves into open-mindedness, challenging your preconceived notions of a culture, schools of thought, food, and beyond. RIP papi chulo.
I think there is one moment that you've missed. I EXACTLY remember when he visits to my country, Indonesia. When he went to Bali he said that he never wants to go home because he like the views in Bali and also he said that Indonesian food is delicious. I never forget his smiling face when he went to my country (I'm Indonesian, by the way) and tastes our food.
For me food was merely a means to subside the hunger pangs, but as I began to watch Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, I began to develop a new found appreciation and passion for food. Anthony brought a likability, and directness to his reviews, something that is severely lacking in our modern age of culinary observation. Coupled with this was a down-to-earth, cordial and incredibly kind soul, that was able empathise with the every day person. My mother always says "People are people because of other people." As a kid I didn't really understand what she was going on about. But now as an adult, I think I finally get it. Some people leave a mark on us that we can't quite shake, that's the type mark that we tend to realise over time isn't a mark at all, but rather a lesson. If i've got to boil it down to a kernel I'll leave you with this: taking your life is never worth it. I know you want the pain to end, but what you're essentially doing is passing the pain onto someone else. Your time on this earth would have come to an end, but your loved ones will remain; suffering with the diminished version of yourself that you decided to leave the world in. I want you to know that you are loved, no matter what.
Anthony Bourdain speaking out on matters such as Palestine, Vietnam, Immigrants, the atrocities of the American Military Industrial Complex against the 3rd world countries he loved visiting, etc... I feel, is why he was more likely murdered by the establishment... and a warning too those that speak against CNN/Governments war industry. In fact I remember watching some of his shows and wondering, why is main stream and CNN letting him speak against their War Machine, almost like an activist on these subjects. Did they give him to much freedom in his contract, and he is going to use the platform? It was during the recession of 2007 that I was discovered "No Reservations," and Anthony Bourdain, it was through his vulgar, and brutal honesty, and real whole hearted openness to anything that made me admire him. He understood where he came from, and never bull shitted anyone about how he felt. His move in 2014 to political matters on CNN's "Parts Unknown,", opened a whole new world to us viewers, we got to know him personally, (at least through the lens) he was not a weak person, and he certainly loved his daughter more than himself. I feel in my heart, in my view, he could and would never do this to her... But above all, Anthony was GREATFUL! Greatful for not primarily his fame or money, but because he loved what he did, you can't make TV like he did, that good, without loving every second of it. He did not commit suicide. It is just inconceivable. I imagine a different scenario being played out that hotel room, and it had more to do with his political views and his reach to a younger audience, and even more, an international audience than anything else... I'm at a loss.. so sad
His death of suicide was so shocking since Robin Williams, lots of people didn’t know he was depressed, but it was selfish what Anthony Boudain did, but wish him and his family some peace.
TXzombiekiller why they hung themselves, our msm doesn’t examine too much into suicides, they only get into murders! I saw Robin Williams on his last show, wasn’t too happy, even his final movies he did, he felt confused and sad.
I have watched him over the years with my mom. I loved the more recent and last thing I watched him in, the Armenia episode. It was a great episode, it was touching and eyeopening. I liked how Serj Tankian joined him and you get to learn a lot about Armenia. RIP Anthony. :(
You know, I had always found it silly when people get worked up about celebrity deaths. I'm always just like, you didn't know them, why are you acting like you lost a friend? It isn't until you've lost one you generally felt a connection with through there work. I take back everything I've said before. Rest In Peace Anthony Bourdain.
He was a regular guy, who loved people, culture and foods ability to bring strangers together, and enjoy each others company. while partaking in something that is both fundamental to our spirit and well being. You would often hear him say- "now that was made with love" And that is exactly what he stood for. You will be missed sir. RIP Anthony Bourdain.
Dabunny Rabbit He sure as hell didn't love white people seeing as he openly discriminated against and advocated for the genocide, and extinction of white people...
He was a porn addict and I wouldn't be surprised if his death was related to the high of sexual asphyxia. He was also an active alcoholic, but was in recovery from heroin and crack.
Anthony Bourdain speaking out on matters such as Palestine, Vietnam, Immigrants, the atrocities of the American Military Industrial Complex against the 3rd world countries, and cultures he loved visiting, etc... I feel, is why he was more likely murdered by government... In fact I remember watching some of his shows and wondering, why is main stream and CNN letting him speak against their War Machine, almost like an activist on these subjects. Did they give him to much freedom in his contract, and he is using the platform? This was a father of an 11 year old daughter, depressed or not, (and I feel he was not and unhappy man). I feel in my heart, in my view, he could and would never do this to her... RIP Anthony
I loved the time when he went to the azores islands my island is fail loved to see peters cafe I walked the ave as a kid just about everyday he’s the best I’ve ever seen when it came to doing his job he did a great job . Thanks for showing us the world you’ll be missed.
For anyone complaining about the body not being cold, there are many people seeing his death on the news who do not know who Anthony was. Mojo is here to show him at his best. Quit for one day being offended by everything. I didn't even like the guy since the Okinawa episode, but even I think it is a good thing to get something for people to remember or discover him.
Depression does not discriminate against who it takes. People who have depression often suffer in silence and can portray a very deceiving facade of contentment and happiness. He was obviously suffering from something more than anyone could fathom. Rest In Peace, Anthony.
We owe great persons like him, RW and many others giving them the support they need and curing them from any illness, which might have kept them from taking such decision.
He was my favourite chef after Gordon Ramsay.. Life's not what it seems, speak to someone pls, if you are going through stuff, don't keep it bottled up..if not speak to your maker, God of the Universe..
May you find peace where ever you have found yourself. You were a inspiration to so many, and I loved watching your work. Anthony Bourdain, please rest well. :(
sometimes, those happy person are more depressed one. I adviced to those people who suffers from depression to look always on the bright side of any thing . be optimistic towards life because there is always a way to solve a problem. if you are tired, get a rest and unwind yourself. go find a friend to talk with. sometimes, crying is the best way to make you feel better.
Rest in peace Anthony Bourdain well miss you we love you no one could ever take your place being a sarcastic wise-cracking food-loving artist beautiful person loving father that you are and most of all good friend and husband

Dan LaBrecque What about Robin Williams that death was a total shocker.

He went to my family's restaurant in the Dominican Republic for his show No Reservations. It felt like losing a friend when I heard of his death.
MrPeppermintPatty I'm so sorry, he like a kind and intelligent man.
He really was; very friendly when he visited my family and loved the food.
MrPeppermintPatty I'm going to miss him too. 😩
MrPeppermintPatty my girlfriend is from the Dominican Republic, the food and culture they have is so beautiful and rich, I’m glad by her I get to be apart of that culture
Didn’t waste any times trying to cash in on his death. Have some class Mojo.
Dragon Ball Black Not really it but okay
Neither did any other major news outlet that's how they make money... Watchmojo's is a company not a person.
Dragon Ball Black I’m paying them nothing to watch this video.
Lenin Soriano They monetized a video that they made about him right after his death. I would call that cashing in.
AnatoliPlays that’s UA-cam cashing in, not the people who made the content seen in the video.
He will be missed. So much.
Eva Rekkers not really. People will move on the next day. He wasn’t that special
He was awesome and he will be missed
No. No, he really won't.
More than you, Acel.
Eva Rekkers I think I'll miss him everyday for a lo-o-ong time -- until the next genuinely unique, intelligent, forceful & humanistic public personality comes along... I can't believe he's gone. Thank you!
He was able to respectfully diss people and talk beautifully about food.
RIP to the greatest food and culture critic ever
The world will never be the same without him. He's really the inspiration for everyone in uniting cuisines and culture together. The most fond memories that be treasured the most was his visit to the Philippines for which he loved the lechon, the sisig and halo-halo and even complimented that the Filipino cuisine can be shown to the world of its unique taste, making my filipino compatriots being proud of the way he speak, frankly. RIP Anthony Bourdain. Thank you for your legacy. It shall be cherished forever.

Rest In Peace Anthony Bourdain.
and there goes another person that i respected, RIP Anthony Bourdain.
Love you Anthony, thank you for everything. RIP sir
He was a regular guy, who loved people, culture and foods ability to bring strangers together, and enjoy each others company. while partaking in something that is both fundamental to our spirit and well being.
You would often hear him say-
"now that was made with love"
And that is exactly what he stood for.
You will be missed sir.
RIP Anthony Bourdain.
Dabunny Rabbit He sure as hell didn't love white people seeing as he openly discriminated against and advocated for the genocide, and extinction of white people...

Send a link.
He was a porn addict and I wouldn't be surprised if his death was related to the high of sexual asphyxia. He was also an active alcoholic, but was in recovery from heroin and crack.
R.I.P. We will miss* you... 😿💜
RIP Anthony
R.I.P Anthony.. You'll be missed ❤
I loved the time when he went to the azores islands my island is fail loved to see peters cafe I walked the ave as a kid just about everyday he’s the best I’ve ever seen when it came to doing his job he did a great job . Thanks for showing us the world you’ll be missed.

RIP, he taught me alot about traveling and enjoying someone's culture through food.
I loved the Layover.
ive seen a lot of love for this guy on social media and stuff, ive never heard of him before. he must have been really big in america
This one hurt....
I'll miss him dearly.
I loved the episode he did on Tangiers, Morocco. I'll miss this man.
RIP. Damn.
RIP.I always watch his travelling videos when I was a kid
Miss you forever Anthony
R.I.P Anthony !! God bless your soul
💖 Anthony Bourdain 💖
Depression does not discriminate against who it takes. People who have depression often suffer in silence and can portray a very deceiving facade of contentment and happiness. He was obviously suffering from something more than anyone could fathom.
Rest In Peace, Anthony.
We owe great persons like him, RW and many others giving them the support they need and curing them from any illness, which might have kept them from taking such decision.
I knew the Beirut attack would be number 1 that episode is legendary
So sad. 😥. RIP. You’ll be missed!
RIP Anthony. You were always my favorite.
He was my favourite chef after Gordon Ramsay.. Life's not what it seems, speak to someone pls, if you are going through stuff, don't keep it bottled up..if not speak to your maker, God of the Universe..
Agreed he will be missed by many, it's a sad loss for everyone who he touched, in person or via media.
I loved his shows and books
May you find peace where ever you have found yourself. You were a inspiration to so many, and I loved watching your work. Anthony Bourdain, please rest well. :(
sometimes, those happy person are more depressed one. I adviced to those people who suffers from depression to look always on the bright side of any thing . be optimistic towards life because there is always a way to solve a problem. if you are tired, get a rest and unwind yourself. go find a friend to talk with. sometimes, crying is the best way to make you feel better.
I loved watching him on the Travel Channel for years and I’m just beyond heartbroken about his death.
Rest in peace Anthony Bourdain well miss you we love you no one could ever take your place being a sarcastic wise-cracking food-loving artist beautiful person loving father that you are and most of all good friend and husband
Man,I'm going to miss this guy.i loved hiw he was straight up with people and wasn't afraid to speak his thoughts. Also made me laugh.... damnit...RIP
His bit part in "The Big Short" should have gotten an honorable mention here.
RIP, Anthony Bourdain. I loved that episode of No reservations, when he visited my country, Finland. Could've been much better visit tbh, but still.
Nice way to honor him..good video
Dammit, I remember all of these moments specifically, as highlights on this show...I'm a fan lol
