I can explain how they can afford the camp. They actually get paid for those cutie mark consultations, and they're legit business owners. The quicker you realize having a cutie mark basically makes you an adult, the easier it is.
A very plausible theory, but what if they built the camp close to their tree house which is on the private side of the Apple’s orchard? With the help and permission of Applejack they can build the camp just like how Applejack gave them her old fillyhood treehouse with the permission to renovate and make it their own with with the privacy of it being on the private side of the orchard. Ever noticed how close the foals are while Scootaloo was eyeing them with a Spyglass(call it what you want, I often forget when calling it this for so long) from their treehouse window, which the treehouse is located on the private side of the Apple’s orchard? One of the CMCs Applebloom is an Apple so getting permission from Applejake for something like this to help a group of cutie markless foals as shown potentially get their cutie marks in a one day summer camp scenario. And even if some of them don’t get their marks, they still a loads of fun together. It’s a win win for both motive sides. Another win win is even if the CMC don’t do the camp again very often or again at all, the Apple family can use that camp location(again, on the private side of their orchard) as guest housing for their battalion large family for their yearly family reunions. And for Nightmare Night, turn it into a Haunted Ghost Camp attraction like their haunted themed corn maze attraction. Again, all plausible theories are an absolute win win here. Future episodes with those theories would be very interesting to see played out. But hey, that’s probably just me, my imagination can often go too far wild here but couldn’t change that even if I wanted too. Us artists, content creators and theorist can often take it to the unimaginable extreme when presented with the chance too. I’ve rambled too much now 😅 but those just my theories weather right or wrong. :3

Because, if you guys haven't seen it, (sorry since I know you don't like these, Josh but) spoiler warning: he ends most, if not all, of his episodes with that "a story for another day" line.
Yeah, the main theme of this episode was something I discussed in length when I reviewed this on Equestria Amino. Namely how Rumble’s argument is a better one for not having cutie marks than anything Starlight used. In fact, Rumble’s argument is exactly my issue with cutie marks, or rather, with how ponies handle fate. Clearly the ponies are so used to getting a good deal when the universe hands them in place in the world that the ponies who aren’t as fortunate just kinda take it. Magical Mystery Cure is my prime example of my problem. Look, I’m glad these horses usually get a good deal, but they shouldn’t let fate be their prison.
Arin Lewis I'll try my best to explain it... Though there are spoilers ahead I'm at least 95% certain it's a Danganronpa reference, and that series also touched on fear of having your entire life defined by one aspect of you/something you're good at (talents in that series, Cutie Marks here). Junko is the villain of a couple of the games, who turned most of the students of a major school against the system (though Rumble's scheme was much smaller scale, and ended far less bloodily). The "pink lemonade blood" part is a reference to how the games censored blood by coloring it a neon purple-pink. It was... distracting, sometimes.

One of the things I loved about the Matel series "Ever After High" was its Royals/Rebels faction system. The way their world worked is that they're all storybook characters whose stories are laid out for them to play out. Signing your name into the Storybook of Legends is an important right of passage ceremony showing that you accept your role in the world. However, some students don't like the destiny laid out before them, they'd rather forge their own path than to let it be decided it for them. The main character was Raven Queen, founder and mouthpiece of the Rebel faction and daughter of the Evil Queen, and her destiny was effectively the same as her mother's: put Snow White's daughter, Apple White, under the Forever-after Sleep spell and let Prince Charming's son defeat/imprison her and reawaken Apple. But Raven isn't evil, she considers Apple her friend and doesn't want to hurt her. She refuses to sign her name in the Storybook of Legend because she doesn't want to cement such an awful fate, much to the chagrin of Apple, whose "Happily Ever After" with Prince Charming's son can't be fulfilled without Raven playing her part. However, while the Rebel faction is kind of the bigger focus, the Royal faction's idealism is never portrayed as entirely in the wrong. Life is full of uncertainty and blindly stumbling around between wrong choices trying to figure out what you're supposed to do, especially in High School. You can't quite blame them for wanting to cut that all out and simply take a guaranteed secure future. Nor is the Rebel faction entirely painted as in the right either. Sure, some of them have defensible reasons like not wanting to be forced to harm their friends or be forced to into a coma that can only be ended by an unsolicited kiss from someone they may not even like, but others feel like their Destinies are just underwhelming and want more grandiose villainy fates or are just uncommitted slackers. Even if they aren't villains, their refusal to sign the book still interferes with other peoples' futures. But that's not to say the Royals are in the right, some of its members are pretty bad people- even the main Royal character, Apple, is shown to be pretty misguided. Is it more selfish of the Rebels to prevent/sabotage their friends' futures, or more selfish of the Royals to force their friends to fulfill a Destiny they don't want just so they can get the future they wanted? And there is nuance to the factions. Being in the Rebel faction doesn't necessarily mean that they completely defy their legacy/destiny. For example, Maddie Hatter, daughter of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, is definitely the spitting legacy of her father, but she's still considered the Rebel factions since she's not the heir to any kingdom and she just kind of does what she wants. Nor does being in the Royal faction necessarily mean they completely follow the legacy laid out before them to a T. Like Lizzie Hearts, daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, is of the Royal faction even though she explicitly tries to avoid being as crazy/borderline evil as her mother when she ascends the throne. All this from a series aimed at preteen girls, explicitly intended to sell toys. And as it turns out, the way Destiny and the Storybook of Legend work aren't quite as simple as "sign your name to cement your future". Spoiler Alert, read no further if you plan to watch the series, which I would recommend despite how loose it played with its established lore/world mechanics towards the end. . . . . . Eventually, the Storybook of Legend was destroyed because a Villain managed to find a way to abuse it and they didn't want that kind of power to be abusable again. They figured it was less trouble to simply erase the central plot device and premise of the factions, giving everyone the power to forge their own destinies [somewhat] independently of others and remove the arguably unhealthy dependency their society has on it. But that's not quite what destroying the book did. As it turns out, people still did have destinies even without the book. At best, destroying it just changed the exact way their destinies were _allegedly_ supposed to play out; but in the absence of the book they have no way of knowing what it is until after it's fulfilled- they have to figure it out through trial and error now. Also, apparently even after signing one's name in the book, they could kind of avoid their destiny anyway with sufficient willpower? Anyway, this episode kind of reminded me of Ever After High's Premise.
I'm actually the kind of person who would gladly eat a Cheddarzuma Revenge. That pizza looks absolutely delicious, it's just the mixture of all of my favorite toppings times 20!
I'm sure it's a coincidence, but Firebrand's "it's not like we keep you around for your brains" is something from SAO abridged and that made me chuckle.

Well see, from everything I've seen in the show, cutie marks only really come about when you find that one thing that just clicks for you; something you know you can put your whole heart and soul into doing. Its like with Rainbow Dash, she got her cutie mark by pushing herself, and going faster than ever before, and wanted to become a great flyer. Hence, she believed becoming a Wonderbolt would help her further that goal. If she couldn't become part of their organization, she could have gone on to be a stunt flyer, or something. Another example, Pinkie just wants to others smile and laugh, and while being a party pony does just that, she more than easily put herself up as a comedian. So, for all intents and purposes, one does just "find" their cutie mark. Its just a revelation of themselves. And as Thunderlane shows, you aren't really tied down by your cutie mark, only by yourself.

I'm at least 95% certain it's a Danganronpa reference, and that series also touched on fear of having your entire life defined by one aspect of you/something you're good at (talents in that series, Cutie Marks here). Junko is the villain of a couple of the games, who turned most of the students of a major school against the system (though Rumble's scheme was much smaller scale, and ended far less bloodily).
The "pink lemonade blood" part is a reference to how the games censored blood by coloring it a neon purple-pink. It was... distracting, sometimes.

One of the things I loved about the Matel series "Ever After High" was its Royals/Rebels faction system. The way their world worked is that they're all storybook characters whose stories are laid out for them to play out. Signing your name into the Storybook of Legends is an important right of passage ceremony showing that you accept your role in the world. However, some students don't like the destiny laid out before them, they'd rather forge their own path than to let it be decided it for them. The main character was Raven Queen, founder and mouthpiece of the Rebel faction and daughter of the Evil Queen, and her destiny was effectively the same as her mother's: put Snow White's daughter, Apple White, under the Forever-after Sleep spell and let Prince Charming's son defeat/imprison her and reawaken Apple. But Raven isn't evil, she considers Apple her friend and doesn't want to hurt her. She refuses to sign her name in the Storybook of Legend because she doesn't want to cement such an awful fate, much to the chagrin of Apple, whose "Happily Ever After" with Prince Charming's son can't be fulfilled without Raven playing her part.
However, while the Rebel faction is kind of the bigger focus, the Royal faction's idealism is never portrayed as entirely in the wrong. Life is full of uncertainty and blindly stumbling around between wrong choices trying to figure out what you're supposed to do, especially in High School. You can't quite blame them for wanting to cut that all out and simply take a guaranteed secure future. Nor is the Rebel faction entirely painted as in the right either. Sure, some of them have defensible reasons like not wanting to be forced to harm their friends or be forced to into a coma that can only be ended by an unsolicited kiss from someone they may not even like, but others feel like their Destinies are just underwhelming and want more grandiose villainy fates or are just uncommitted slackers. Even if they aren't villains, their refusal to sign the book still interferes with other peoples' futures. But that's not to say the Royals are in the right, some of its members are pretty bad people- even the main Royal character, Apple, is shown to be pretty misguided. Is it more selfish of the Rebels to prevent/sabotage their friends' futures, or more selfish of the Royals to force their friends to fulfill a Destiny they don't want just so they can get the future they wanted?
And there is nuance to the factions. Being in the Rebel faction doesn't necessarily mean that they completely defy their legacy/destiny. For example, Maddie Hatter, daughter of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, is definitely the spitting legacy of her father, but she's still considered the Rebel factions since she's not the heir to any kingdom and she just kind of does what she wants. Nor does being in the Royal faction necessarily mean they completely follow the legacy laid out before them to a T. Like Lizzie Hearts, daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, is of the Royal faction even though she explicitly tries to avoid being as crazy/borderline evil as her mother when she ascends the throne. All this from a series aimed at preteen girls, explicitly intended to sell toys.
And as it turns out, the way Destiny and the Storybook of Legend work aren't quite as simple as "sign your name to cement your future". Spoiler Alert, read no further if you plan to watch the series, which I would recommend despite how loose it played with its established lore/world mechanics towards the end.

Eventually, the Storybook of Legend was destroyed because a Villain managed to find a way to abuse it and they didn't want that kind of power to be abusable again. They figured it was less trouble to simply erase the central plot device and premise of the factions, giving everyone the power to forge their own destinies [somewhat] independently of others and remove the arguably unhealthy dependency their society has on it. But that's not quite what destroying the book did. As it turns out, people still did have destinies even without the book. At best, destroying it just changed the exact way their destinies were _allegedly_ supposed to play out; but in the absence of the book they have no way of knowing what it is until after it's fulfilled- they have to figure it out through trial and error now. Also, apparently even after signing one's name in the book, they could kind of avoid their destiny anyway with sufficient willpower? Anyway, this episode kind of reminded me of Ever After High's Premise.

Well see, from everything I've seen in the show, cutie marks only really come about when you find that one thing that just clicks for you; something you know you can put your whole heart and soul into doing. Its like with Rainbow Dash, she got her cutie mark by pushing herself, and going faster than ever before, and wanted to become a great flyer. Hence, she believed becoming a Wonderbolt would help her further that goal. If she couldn't become part of their organization, she could have gone on to be a stunt flyer, or something. Another example, Pinkie just wants to others smile and laugh, and while being a party pony does just that, she more than easily put herself up as a comedian. So, for all intents and purposes, one does just "find" their cutie mark. Its just a revelation of themselves. And as Thunderlane shows, you aren't really tied down by your cutie mark, only by yourself.
