To the people commenting, let them play their own music how they intended. They wrote it, you can enjoy it or not. Don't try to change it. It's their's and they can change it however they want. If I know anything, I'm pretty sure a band that has stuck together all these years goes deep...goes beyond "playing" ability. Times change, people change. Brand new has progressed and grown older. Don't hold them to what they used to be, they are people just like you. With that said, thanks Brand New for being the soundtrack of me growing up. Peace.
Thank you for posting this, I grew up to this band but was never able to see them live. I did however live all the teenage nights with this as our anthem. Running around in a haze. I fucking *love* this band. Live you have GOT to see them. Its life altering.
so true
I've watched this set like 30 times now and it's come to mean almost as much to me as an album. I got into the band after they'd broken up, and I know I'll probably never get to see them live, but seeing the sheer emotion on Jesse's face and the intensity and passion with which the band plays is enough to convince me it would be the best concert ever. Here's hoping someday they get the comeback they deserve.
I feel like this video just made me fall in love with this band. I didn't realize just how unique of a sound they possess. Great band. They deserve more popularity

you won't know was fucking insane
+James Filosofos It always is, isn't it?
+James Filosofos just incredible. my god
+James Filosofos I saw them live in Vancouver just after "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" years ago. You Won't Know was the off the chain. Way crazier in a small venue when they are headlining their own show and have full reign of the stage effects. If you ever get a chance to see them don't hesitate. One of the best shows i've ever been to. Just bought tickets to go see them again in June :D
+Kenneth McGlenen Maybe we'll see each other in the pit! You won't be disappointed. Brand New puts on an epic live show. It will be perfect timing too, since they have a new cd coming out (hopefully in early 2016 but who knows)
+James Filosofos Yo nice default, Title FIght slays
the greatest band that no one ever knows
So keep your blood in your head
I met 1 person in my town that knows of them lol.
BrokenGod Ent. Lucky for you I know zero people in my highschool and city that know of them
JonesiBoy Beastmode keep your feet on the ground
yall are trippin. when i was in high school there were like ten people with the devil and god tshirts
They are amazing live. I wish they had some live albums put out 🔥
You won't know is probably their best song, not only because of the way that it will send chills down your spine everytime you listen to it, but also the amazing meaning of the song.
They closed their show with that at Groezrock in Belgium. It was hauntingly beautiful.
This band has been with me since 2005. I even by some crazy coincidence served in the Navy with Jesse's brother. I was able to see them play their entire discography over two nights in Santa Ana, CA, plus countless other times. I fucking LOVE Brand New.
Pretty badass man! Found them in 05 too. I went to a private high school full of musicians and the band ran through our school like wildfire. Wish I could go back to simpler times, always regret never being able to see them live.
Brand New, a reminder that real rock and roll still does exist.
I can't think about what he's done with music this good....Been a fan since 2003 and I'll never stop listening.
I’ve seen them in Denver a few times and every time he sings, “the kind of song that makes people glad to be where they are with whoever they’re there with”, you feel it in the whole place and it’s just magical

Gotta listen to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve watched this 1,000 times and it has yet to get old
Given your pfp, I'm sure you have a lot in common with the singer
@@gwgwgwgwgwgwgwgwgw Oh man you burned me. How will I ever go on
@@mackwilliams8853 I'm sorry, did that burn violate the NAP?
I’d love to see Brand New play live again. Another show with my little brother would mean everything to me.
This is my favorite live set of all time.
At 19, and a fan for 5 years, I am so jealous of everyone who got to see them live.
same! i’ve been a fan since i was a freshman in high school and now i’m in my 3rd year of college. i saw them years ago but i was so intimidated by all the adults in the crowd that i feel like i didn’t get to really enjoy the experience even though the band was amazing... i would give anything to see them again
@@trxgician hey just be proud you have this band on your "bands I saw perform live when I was in high school" list. That's pretty badass.
They’ll be back
But yes they are amazing to see live (:
@@mattchristensen3854 well, they did their secret show. Now will they regroup and do a public show? I hope so. But I don't blame them for no longer wanting the spotlight.
An insanely, insanely, insanely talented band.
The most underrated song writer in music
Fuck, it hurts to watch this knowing how good things once were with this band. I miss them
Almost cry when watching this full set. They're way too amazing.

No Quite Things though? Still an amazing set.
"Jesus Christ" is one of the best songs of all time
this band will always be a memory ill never want to forget! they've gotten me through so much growing up.. love them for it 👏💋💜
Vin's guitar effect on Millstone on this version has been stuck in my head for the past month
Even tho he dips out of tune on the second one it kinda adds to it
regardless if the notes are off at times or if vinny's singing is much at times, there's passion and that's what makes it great! Can't wait to see them this Friday in KC!
Saw Brand New at Give It A Name 2007 in London and it’s still one of the best sets I’ve ever seen a band play - these guys were absolutely streets ahead of Thursday, Taking Back Sunday etc and that’s saying something because they’re both great bands as well in their own rights!
one of the happiest moments of my life is when I finally got to see them live in 2016 here in Michigan. :)
Was that w modest mouse?
@@paherbst524 it sure was
At DTE? I was there and that was the best performance they put on out of all 4 times I saw them. The outro to you won’t know that night… I CANT put it into words.

tommy gun is one of my five all time songs. what is it about that song NEVER getting old?!?!?
jesse's finest lyrics
for sure!!! and the musical composition is insane as well! the build up is so intense every time. i'll always love that song, even when i'm an old woman! haha
If I could take 2 songs to a desert isle it'd be tommy gun and play crack the sky. I'd sneak in Degausser when no one islooking
It is 5 songs at once. So damn good.
Ashley Klug It's almost like every time you listen to it, it feels brand new
Me and my late uncle listened to these so much. Still brings a tear to my eye listening now.....r.i.p Ade 🙏🫂❣️

Damn, the You Won’t Know performance is phenomenal
There's an alternate reality where Taking Back Sunday broke up and Brand New are still going strong. We're in the wrong one.
You know life sucks when you know your favorite band will never reunite.
I saw Brand New one time at a record store show for their release The Devil and God. I was 19 I had no money and we couldn't afford to get in. We were able to look through the glass and watch them. They should keep making music, fuck the noise.
Literally the best show I have ever been to!
oh how much would i have loved this set list.
They started playing together at like 16. They are legends 🙌
Tarzan on lead guitar and backing vocals
That's hilarious
His vocals were distracting
He was playing shit so sloppy
Ridiculously handsome Tarzan 😝
i thought he was Alice Cooper...
20:10 did he shush the person that screamed im crying
slcwtcwn I think he did lmfaooo
,
God I wish the camera caught him in that moment lmao
He did LOL
Nahhhhh
That was an excellent rendition of Mixtape!
Peace.
thank you
What a brilliant band. I had the privilege of seeing them - only once though. Time for a re-union!
Thank you for posting this, I grew up to this band but was never able to see them live. I did however live all the teenage nights with this as our anthem. Running around in a haze. Hearing it again 10 + years later brings me right back to those nights. Back to that mindset. So fragile, so angry, so sad. This got me through it.
Edit: 15:07 bawling uncontrollably throughout- to the end
