Hi that’s the best zipper tab and easy to do i always had trouble with zipper tab not know thanks for sharing At the moment I’m sewing the iPad case on your UA-cam excellent tutorial too love it thank you
Thank you for this tutorial. I dislike how the ends of the zipper bend down into the seam with my bags. Now I can do this and they will look fantastic 👍💜
Love this no stress, easy-peasy video! Thank you so much for posting you saved my project, and me! Any suggestions for creative zipper pulls would be great. I attached a simple thin piece of ribbon then knotted it, works for now.
Rebecca Wilson ...it is isn't...l was exactly the same when l done it this way...and for the life of me l can't find the pattern or remember the name of it where i seen this method...lm still looking 😊😊😊 glad you liked the tip hun ❤❤❤ thanks for taking the time to watch ❤❤

Hi Nicole, i love your zipper tabs. Just one question, when making the flat bottom pouch, when I tuck the zipper tabs as you instruct and sew the pouch, they end up with tucks into the seam. What am I doin wrong? Thank you.
Love the polished look of zipper tabs, but have trouble with getting everything lined up and stitched. Gets frustrating!!! I will definately try this with my next zipper install.
I love how you've done this and also giving measurements for the tabs, no one else seems to do this and as I'm a novice I need all the info I can get. My only query is the raw edge at the end of the tab if a space is left for sewing the side seams. Also do you have a tutorial for extending the tabs so they become 'pulls'. Hope this make sense. Thank you so much for your tutorial. Eva Norfolk.
The raw edge is stitched into the bag. If you want to extend the tab to be a "pull", measure out the extra you need for the pull, plus 4 inches for the tab. Then stitch the tab on three sides on wrong side of fabric leaving the side open where you insert the Zipper. Make sure the opening of the tab is the same width of the Zipper. Now turn the tab inside out. Fold in the unsewn edge of the tab(tube) about half inch. Insert the Zipper about about half inch into the tab and stitch back and forth about an eighth of an inch from the edge. Ready to be inserted into your project.
Hi Amelia, here is a tutorial from start to finish for you on how to use the zipper tabs in a project I hope this helps... ua-cam.com/video/Vrx1JSvVx_U/v-deo.html
I have been asked to do another video showing the full construction...as this video was just the tabs...it is schedualled for the channel on the 20th Feb 2019...we are in the process of filming ....it will be just a basic pouch but will give clear instructions on how to measure and install 😊
If I can replicate this( I have looked at your follow up video too) you will have saved my bacon ! & I’m not going to tell you how many years I’ve been sewing - just never made a bag with a zip across the top ! Lol
Can you show us how you put the lining and outside together and sew across the zipper at the sides. With the top stitching along the the side of the zipper there is a lot of material at the sides and I am never sure which direction things should be folded.
Hi Larraine, thank you for subscribing to our channel...welcome to the DDs quilting and crafting family we are so glad you are here❤......l just had to check my schedual...l have a basic zipper pouch scheduled to go up in February...using this technique...😊
Hi Jodi, here is a cute little pouch you might want to make using this method :) Join us on FB at DDs Quilting and Crafting Group and show off your pouch
why don't you show how you are measuring for the zipper to begin with. if you have never put one in you would need to know what size to make the zipper to begin with.

THANK YOU! EVERY ZIPPER I SEW LOOKS AWFUL - NOW THEY LOOK AWESOME!!! THANKS AGAIN 😁
It looks like you make up the zipper without knowing the size of the bag. I’m confused. Also, does the tab get into a seam?
Ingenious!! So much easier than the method I've been using. Duh ... why didn't I think of that!!

Did you sew across the zipper tabs meaning are they included in the seam allowance or do I sew right on the edge pass the tab
Hi Amelia, here is a tutorial from start to finish for you on how to use the zipper tabs in a project I hope this helps...
ua-cam.com/video/Vrx1JSvVx_U/v-deo.html
Do you have a tutorial of zipper pouch that has straight edge's as opposed to curved edges on each side by the zipper.
I am using a metal YKK zipper so I can't sew over top of it. Any advice?
I love the way you did that very neat. Can't wait to make it.Thank you for sharing.
So how do you know what length to cut your zipper tape? How much shorter does your zipper tape have to be in relation to the width of your fabric?
Hi, I am assuming you are the Julie i was speaking to, on Facebook?
@@darvanaleedesignsstudio no I'm not. :) But will also check out your FB page.

Do the tabs add any length to the zipper?
Yes, they do and l can not remember how long it made it...but the tab and zip would measure the length of the top of the bag
@@darvanaleedesignsstudio that was my other question. Im confused on when it should be longer and when it should be shorter

Oh hun, guve it a go...just take it slow and one step at a time...❤ l know you can do it ❤❤❤
Darvanalee Designs Studio With Nicole Reed yes I will, but the hands are starting to stiffen up & the eyes don’t like dark fabric! Lol
@@gayneels5169 unfortunately l hear that a lot...😕
