For some reviews the movie didnt feel true but I enjoyed it...its metaverse in appeal to millennials for me older I can laugh and understand scenes like rubber duckie when youve had a bad day.. Its not all boom like the others but remembered 1st matrix was criticized harsh for its violence so nuances we see a blend. I think it balances the three if there is another it will be a good balance of rolls action sequences and plot. This was to reintroduce us to this concept...but we never know neo and trinity could paint the town red so to speak or itll be a mindjob and we either have a deja vu glitch or a possible ending not necessarily a true ending remember operand before achitect...new coding and etc for now I say its cool...
the fourth film will take some time to "fit in" the narrative of the first three. die hard fans might feel betrayed or that lana strayed from what's "correct" - but: time has passed quite literally and things/minds/people evolve. my opinion is really irrelevant but lemme say this: it's beautifully made and i think i can see and feel why it came to life.
