Thank you another gem Anthony. Bucharest is one of my favourite places in the world. The Romanian people communicate with the warmth of knowing/experiencing the worst of the worse but share their hopes for traversing their future with a frankness and inclusiveness that reassures the visitor that greater things are destined to happen and that we are all a part of it..... I also reccommend a visit to anyone with the "travel bug"
Down South That was well said and very true. Romania turned out to be one of my favorite countries . And look forward to returning. Hopefully pick up a good amount of Romanian.:)
you deserve so many more subs, i have been interested in visiting the Balkans, your trip round this area has given me the push to start looking into it thanks a lot, you probably wont see this being on such an old video. just thought needed saying. keep up the great work. love from England
I definitely have seen it brother! The balkans is the best region of the world I choose to travel long term with no set itinerary. Romania is one of my favorite cultural countries I have been to yet. You are going to love it deeply I promise you that :D
I love how you used Romanian music for the audio background. If you ever find your way to Bucharest again send me a message. I would love to how you around.
Hey mate, your videos are fantastic, it's surprisingly tricky to learn about this part of the world! I have 4.5 weeks fly in then out of Bucharest in June. I must admit after watching all of your videos I'm overwhelmed by the choices of where to go! I like your relaxed, take it easy approach but would ask if you had 4-5 weeks and wanted to take it easy in the Balkans what would you recommend? I'm leaning towards to 2 weeks in Romania / dip into Moldova (why not!?), 1 week Serbia the 1 week in Bosnia and maybe a quick return through Bulgaria to Bucharest. But I don't want to rush, perhaps Romania and Serbia is enough :)
Hey buddy! You made a good choice for Europe that's not so cliches. Not saying I wouldn't go to France Italy and Spain, but the balkans are a gem on its own offering so much at a budget friendly price. 4 to 5 weeks is a good amount of time to enjoy a piece of the Balkans. I think you can get away with a Romania, Serbia, Bosnia Moldova trip. However I must say that Romania has soooooo much to offer that even 2 and a half weeks only allowed me to see the surface of what RO has to offer. Just giving a heads up Romania may need the most time if you love culture, good food, music, incredible history including fortresses and architecture and some of the most incredible people ever. The language is beautiful too :D Let me know what you decide. :D Regardless, you chose a great region of the world :)
Cheers for the response. If I planned purely on what information was out there it would seem Romania doesn't have much to do, compared to other Balkan countries like Bosnia and Croatia it's left out a bit! I'm happy you're telling me that's not true! I'll do my best to dig in, researching what to do, history and culture but won't plan anything concrete and hopefully Romania will surprise me! I'll continue researching about Bosnia etc. because even if I don't get to go, always good to have future trips at the ready! Being on the far way rock that is Australia makes it difficult to get out, but I'm happier to see more of one place than than a little of lots! If you find yourself in south east Queensland, Australia, feel free to shoot me a message, it's beautiful here.
haha I know what you mean but I will say, New Zealand is just about as far as it gets haha. I'm in NZ now (top of the south island to be exact.) But yes Romania has a lot to offer. From the common stops like Bucharest, Brasov, and Sibiu. But Constanta, Iasi, Cluj and Timisoara have it's own charm. Sighisoara is a must see. Hunedoara, Fagaras, visiting the Danube, Maramures region, the Transfagarasan (which was still snow covered when i was there :( ) So much to do and see :)Only giving you insight based on how I felt when I left. Felt like it deserved more time.
Thanks, great to hear from someone who has been there, I can't wait to find out for myself! Transfagarasan looks like one of the most amazing places in Romania however I'm not sure I want to drive it myself :O might find someone to car pool with. It's good that you didn't go, an excuse to visit again! Enjoy NZ it's a fantastic place despite the shit us Aussies give them, but be careful with their beer Speight's we found it awful! Tui however, which I think is a north-island Ale, very nice!
Exactly. A return to the Balkans and Europe for that matter is something I look forward to. But I've got my mind and heart set on exploring the Pacific right now. Just something I gotta do until the next chapter of my travels. Man, Speits is shit beer sad to say. And I don't know about the rest of TUI but their IPA is such a false title lol. I'm blessed to work as a bartender serving MOA beer, a craft brewery in Blenheim and is seriously legit :)
