By that time, it was several years old, but my daughter liked the music. “Words You Say” is the story of us - she, young & wanting all “the finest things,” & I, a rock musician & an underpaid college professor with no retirement or health care. She couldn’t stand me because I wasn’t rich. Thus, her words are the first part; mine are the second. She’s wealthy now, & I am old, but only in years. She was older in mind at 16 than I shall ever be. And, poor that I am, my heart holds more wealth than hers will ever know, though my own heart breaks to say it. Some words need to be some forever.
I was diagnosed with lung cancer two days ago and found this song today. Something about it is calming and relieving my anxiety. I have always liked the Moody Blues, but have not heard this until today.
If there are two groups who can simply never be duplicated...and they are considerably different in style except for the fact they are composed of great musicians. It's the Moody Blues and The Police. Instantly recognizable. there are a thousand groups that have tried to replicated the sound of the Beatles, Zeppelin, Rolling Stones. No one can touch these guys.
I still remember when I saw them at The Royal Albert Hall, May 2000. When John sang this song I was in another world. Luckily the concerts was recorded for both DVD and CD. I am "close up" in the middle of the song... SMILE... singing "I don't want to wake up now"... it was the most fantastic concert ever. Love the Moody.
I don't want to wake up when I dream about my wife, because when I do she is not here she died in March 10th 2016 and I cannot tell her I love her. Anyone reading this tell your wife you love her every night before turning out the light to go to sleep I did and now I can't say it anymore. I miss her so much and it's ironic she didn't like the Moody Blues.
You can still tell her you love her she will hear you. I lost my husband years ago and not a day goes by that I don't tell him I love him and always will. In one way or another I tell him and I know he hears me. I know how it hurts believe me, We had ten wonderful years together, I guess that is all I was allowed but we made the most of what we were given. That is all you can do. Take care and do the best you can.

I was with Lesley for 41 years 36 of them as husband and wife I know its only been 25 weeks since her death but it is not getting any easier.Lesley never liked the Moody Blues but whenever they came to Newcastle she always bought me a ticket to see them and it was always the best seat. Her band was The Beautiful South a band that I didn't like but since her death I have listened to a cd that I made up for her funeral and you know what, she had good taste I have started to like them a lot unfortunately I cry when I listen to them because I know she liked them.
At first it doesn't get any easier, it actually gets harder because all the things you did together and little things that pop up seem to make it worse. Trust me it will get better with time, it never goes away but it will be better. It is like a scab that heals over a cut that starts to heal up and something or somebody says something that reminds you of her a song or something you find in the house, and it will rip the scab right off and you start all over again. There are so many Moody's songs that make me cry can't help it but it does help to cry, you have to, I remember running in to the woods and hollering his name and screaming it "why did you leave me here alone" never got an answer. When the kids scatter my ashes someday on the front lawn with him, I want them to play '"Watching and Waiting" and Broken Dreams and New Horizons there are so many. God bless her for what she did for you. I have been trying to go to Vegas to see them in Oct. but can't get the money to do it. I did get to see Justin Hayward in Albany NY in May. My daughter bought me the tickets for Mothers day and my birthday so I guess I will have to be satisfied with that. And when he sang Watching and Waiting didn't you know i cried through the whole thing. Take care and it will get better it just takes such a long time.

The second part is me. I don’t want to say these things now, in this time of pandemic. My daughter is my greatest love. She is rich today, & I’m old & poor. Yet I am richer in heart than she will ever understand. I love her with everything I am. Her treasures are worldly; mine are riches of spirit that fill the heart with tears and joy. Perhaps this song will bring her to the truth that not all wealth is bankable, & not all want is impoverishment at all.

I have found many of the words in the songs that these gifted spiritually brothers of the moody blues to enlighten me to write a lot of my public comments, to share freely what I have come to find to heal the heart mind and soul and only by our Most Merciful, Forgiving and Loving Creator God. When one might remember from those so-called religious scholars said of when God spoke to Noah, who believed to go to do what the Voice and Words of One who Noah must had believed to follow through with had to be all so True and clearly Informant. The second one to hear Gods Voice was Moses on Mount Sini. If you remember God said to Moses, to take off his shoes that this is Holy Ground, which is, to me I believe is saying it is all the ground on earth, and we know that our Creator gave then to all man to obey, His Holy Commandments which later were fulfilled by His Son Jesus who He sent here to show us how to love and obey His Holy Fathers Laws, and by being the Good Shepard and Prince of Peace , it is only now that the ones who came upon those True children of God, who freely shared the Truth of how to love our Loving Father with all our heart and all our minds and all our soul, by no more buying and eating those beautiful precious families of every living creature on both land and sea. Funny enough,johns vocals on "strange times" album were his strongest ever i feel, and his songs mostly were great,but for some readon,i"m not keen on this one at all!!! It's not awful of course,musically lush,and great vocal,but some of the lyrics are a tad cringy,sorry john😒
