    The A-26, one of my favorite planes of all time. Excellent videos, I am currently building the M48 Patton, following your guide on that as well. Model kit building is always a learning process. Thanks for creating and sharing the videos.

      You should check out the online museum im building to the A26. Its still a work in progress, but I've got every book on the Invader, every inventory card, missing air crew reports, and thousands of photos. It's called the Invader Historical Foundation.

    Ahhh the story stick method from the days of leveling & dimensioning lumber with hand planes! Genius

    An excellent video and that adjustable mounting block is quite clever.

    Doc, THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDEO AND YOUR TIME!!!!! fyi tidbit; In the full size aircraft world an imaginary vertical plane or line from which all horizontal measurements are taken is called "datum line" generally for balance purposes not so much for engineering.

    Paul, what’s the ratio you use for your acrylic powder to CA glue for a filler?

    • @scale-model-workshop
      @scale-model-workshop  6 років тому +4

      There isn't any set ratio ... you mix for the consistency of the individual task ... depends how stiff or thick you want it to be.

    Hello,
    What size block do you use in this video? Seems like 1/2 x 1 x 6 but not sure. Or is it metric? 6061 alum. or stainless?

    Paul, I'm not having much luck here in the UK finding the dental acrylic powder that you recommend.
    Would a nail acrylic powder that the ladies use work.

      He mentioned in a previous video that he thought nail acrylic powder might work; although he had never used it. I purchased my dental acrylic from ebay.

      Hi ESSAYONS
      You wouldn't happen to have a seller name or a link for the people you bought yours from please as I am at a loss to locate it.

    • @9thSapper
      @9thSapper 6 років тому +1

      Mr. Clive,
      usdentaldepot is the ebay seller; they unfortunately only ship within the continental U.S. Search "dental acrylic powder" on ebay.

    • @phxJohn2010

      Dental acrylic powder was actually derived from nail acrylic, so they should be compatible enough in this application to use.

    How thick is your aluminum plate? Since this video I've been shopping for one but in person they have not been perfectly even with a noticeable warp, which would seem to defeat the purpose!

    • @scale-model-workshop
      @scale-model-workshop  6 років тому +1

      it's 1/2" plate ... I had a local metals supplier cut it from a larger piece. I forgot what the guaranteed tolerance was, but it was pretty much dead flat over the distance I needed for this plate. It wasn't all that expensive ... seems like it was $50 or $60.

    • @jayeverett5732
      @jayeverett5732 5 років тому

      I'd suggest that you find a piece of aluminum, then start looking for a shop that has a blanchard grinder. that machine will be able to grind the surface flat. you're not looking for a precision thickness of the plate, just flat and parallel on the two faces.
