- This video took place over the month of February where I show the full process of taking in, unboxing, caring for, listing, selling and shipping reptiles that need new homes. For those of you that don't know, I'm currently renting and have to limit how many animals I have. It's given a good opportunity to focus on just the species I want to work with, and trying to only take in the healthiest and highest demand animals. This way, I still increase revenue while helping keepers out!

just a question, do you worry that your business is only viable because of your following? knowing that if you charged these prices in the normal market you'd sell nothing?
Ok but those 1 page length notes about every single gecko shows just how much that person loved them. They must miss them a lot.
You can tell these babies were so loved, I hope the next owner loves them so much as the prior owner.

@@snakeluvr1395 Yup, previous owner sounds like a great person... It takes a lot of courage to admit and own that you can't care for an animal anymore.
I feel bad for the person having to let these lil guys go when they clearly worked so hard (and well) to care for them. They look so good! At least its probably a relief to know they're going to good homes.

The guy didn't sell them he instead payed emerald scales to take them.
Emerald scales takes animals for payment fixes them up and sells them to buyers that have been thoroughly checked
ok very random thing to comment on but STRAINING THE MEALWORMS AT 1:54 WAS SO FUCKING EFFICIENT. I CANNOT BELIEVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT.... i work at a wildlife rehab center and every day i just pick them out of the dirt by hand for a billion birds and reptiles. im losing my mind you've just changed my life. we literally have a strainer there...
Just PLEASE don't do it in the sink like he did. Long term you will be paying for plumbers all the time.

You can really tell these geckos had the best owner. Not only were they in perfect healthy conditions, but once the owner realized they could no longer keep their precious geckos in the health standard they wanted to achieve, they made the tough decision to ship them off to make sure they had a person who could do that for them. Mad respect for this person, we need more people like them in the hobby

I just really want to know where people keep getting mass amount of those black hides from. everywhere I find them its like $20 for a single large hide
You can use tool boxes search for snake discovery
Go to Walmart's Tupperware section, buy whatever size you need of the cheapest black ones. Cut a hole, use a lighter to smooth the edge completely.
A few might just break on you when you cut them because these are cheap as hell but when you've got a bunch ready they work great and cost next to nothing.

@@alysani0193 if you use a utility knife and heat the blade with a lighter it'll make really smooth cuts, I did this to cut vents in my bin cage :)

As someone who has three geckos I would literally cry for the rest of my life if I had to give them away. I cannot even begin to imagine how much it must have hurt their previous owner to have to give up these beauties :(

@@AbLaV yes they are wonderful snakes! Unfortunately I got very unlucky and had some bad experience with one, I didn't handle him enough as a baby and he was extremely aggressive. He bit me over 20 times! 😱 I swear he thought he was a rattlesnake! Lol his name was even Mr. Cuddles 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Ended up rehoming him and getting a ball, who is MUCH better behaved! Lol

@@oogway9895 I actually gave him to my neighbor, who is very good with snakes and was able to tame him down 😊 unfortunately I did not have the time to work on taming him down daily, and I knew he would be happier with my neighbor. She is excellent with snakes and owns several bps and a retic, and has worked with aggressive snakes before. I rehomed him for his own good and trust me I cried a lot at first because of it 😭 I also check in on him often 🥰

This has nothing to do with geckos but I just fed my baby corn snake for the first time and she ate it right up! She’s just burrowed up now so I’ll see her in a couple days hehe

We just had a kitty brought in with a horribly broken arm and starving to death. We had the leg removed but he needs a home. All black. Sweet kitty. Just a small adoption fee. Considering the surgery was 860$, a 50$ adoption fee is worth it

Nice! I just rescued a ball python a few days ago. Poor guy has rat wounds, and permanently damaged eye caps. Luckily he seems to be doing fine! I'll try to feed him in two days, along with my other ball python!

Genuine question, how do you ensure you don't have hidden parasites that can stay dormant for long periods of time? For instance, cryptosporidium (which is deadly and incurable as I'm sure you know). I breed leos, and I test every single animal that comes in my care for it, due to how contagious it is. The only cleaner that kills it is ammonia (nasty stuff!). But unfortunately I have to send fecal swabs to labs and it's annoying, although necessary process. I'm just curious, if this is something you've considered, as if it gets in your collection, it can be really bad.

I got my second leopard gecko in early September of last year. He is now just about fully grown to be roughly 73 grams at the current moment. I don't feel like I am overfeeding him yet he has fat sacks. I even took out his calcium and only dust his food. Do you think it is a humidity issue that is causing the sacks? My female Leo is a year older and I feed her the same amount, yet she is fine. I feed him 1-2 super worms every 2-3 days. That's all that he eats. What do you suggest the issue is @GoHerping. The thing I don’t like about emerald scales is that he upcharges so much for the animal. I understand he has to take in consideration food costs and if they needed any medical help or whatever but like nobody is gonna pay $150 for a normal morph gecko....

Either you'll convince him or you won't. You can try showing him videos, and evidence that you will take care of your snake, but if he doesn't budge, you'll just have to wait until you move out
I'd offer maybe do some deep research and either make a presentation or like prepare a speech on the information you know, any prices you can find if cost is a worry, and general care knowledge of the snake breed you would like to buy. Showing that you've done your research and know how to care for them might help your case in obtaining a new scaley friend! Good luck!
Remember that your dad knows what is best for your family and maybe he knows y'all don't have the time to take care of a snake or the money to buy a snake. Ask him why he won't let you get a snake.
If it is simply because he doesn't like them, assure your dad that he would never have to see the snake. Let him know that there are many non-aggressive/defensive species of snakes you can have as pets. Do some research and show him videos that shows how cool snakes are. Good luck!

So I have a ball python in this huge tank next to my bed, and each time the cats come into my room at night, they see her slithering around, and they anxiously stare at her lol
One of my cats just stares at my ball python and my other kitty has actively tried to knock over the tank. She is no longer allowed in that room

I take good care of my leopard gecko but he had medibollic bone disease (i think), and his shed doesn’t come off of his feet so i have to manually do it, and it isn’t easy. His fingers are all messed up and start turning purple.

For medical reasons the previous owner couldnt keep them , but still put on a wait list . You dont check these geckos for a week , but ship them out in a week . What actual purpose does this rescue serve ? The original owner just lost hundreds for no reason .
