Advice for the girl asking about things moving quickly on their first date: Be cautious. This is a narcissistic tactic that people unconsciously play out. In the very beginning they are extremely charismatic, it feels very natural and they are magnetic. Narcissists use a practice called love bombing where they make you feel like you are their whole world very early on but this will change over time. Eventually the high that you bring into their life will come down, and eventually the narcissist will start to view you as the problem in their life not their joy. Do some research into narcissistic behaviors and programming. Narcissists literally program you. So just be cautious. That kind of behavior on a first date shows immaturity, mental instability, and is a RED FLAG. I experienced this myself with my last partner of 3 years. Literally what she was saying was my first date with my past partner.
I was literally thinking this the entire time she was describing her date. She needs to RUN! She even said herself "too good to be true," well girl, it is. RUN! 🏃 💨
I feel I represent such a small portion of Shane’s audience as a straight 27 yo/man. He was a primary support structure during my high school years (along with rest of UA-cam). Thanks for all you do.
Mandela effects are awesome and they’re a core memory we hold with you Shane. If you can’t find any new ones that’s okay but please don’t cancel it bc you think we all don’t want it. I know I do. It’s a good time for me hearing how excited you all get over them and also I’m usually really shocked.
Thank you Ryland!! I'm so tired of self diagnosing and I know everyone is just diagnosing by tiktok and I'm over it. Pretty sure 60% of those saying they have a condition are just jumping on a band wagon.
Yup. I'm disabled and neurodivergent, and i don't know more than a few people IRL who have the trendy conditions like ADHD/Autism, but then on tiktok, 90% of people suddenly have a ton of different trendy conditions, but ofcourse only like 10% are actually diagnosed with the conditions they say they have. People self diagnosing creates SO MUCH misinformation and just adds to the stigma. I hate it so much
Thank you guys for supporting the autistic community my brother is on the spectrum and people have been really nasty towards him so this means alot to us 💙
My brother is autistic aswell and we can’t even rlly bring him out to do things cause when he has an episode people start being rude like we can control it.
😢 sorry ❤❤ autistic people are amazing. As a fellow neurodivergent adhd your brother deserves the best❤❤❤. I think I’m on the spectrum bc I have traits. It’s so hard to get tested for it.
@@mermaiddiyartist8119 I am also on the spectrum but not to the extent like he is. He’s non verbal but I can tell he tries to talk so hard. It makes me sad
Thank you I literally had to go and watch snow white with the subtitles on to confirm not mad I love the evil queen but when they are leaving the diamond mine it's home from work and then when snow white is giving them all kisses goodbye on the head you hear them say it's off to work I go
If you’re really gonna keep making us wait 2 weeks for a podcast at least y’all could make them 6 hours long. Bc that’s what we want!! We need weekly pods! Love y’all
Thank you so much for the autism shoutout. My son is 2 and is on the spectrum and hearing people normalize it more and bring it up in conversation really does help a lot. There’s such a stigma around it that it’s a bad thing and it’s so nice hearing you guys say such positive things about it! I’m glad my son was born during a time when being different is a lot more accepted. ❤️
I’m autistic, I loved them bringing it up until Jared said we don’t feel emotions… 💀 To clarify, just because we can’t fully read or understand other peoples emotions doesn’t mean we don’t have any… if anything autistic people are more emotional 😂
My comment is for CeCe... That's narcissistic behavior and it's very common for narcissists to make you feel like they're your knight in shining armor, they seem a perfect match, they talk about marriage ect. They seem like good people. The fact is narcissists mirror the good traits of the other person involved. Narcissists need someone who is an easy target for them to destroy and all the while you have no idea what's happening. Narcissists need someone for their own purpose and you'll be used, manipulated, and your spirit could possibly most likely be broken. CECE proceed with caution on all levels, I know from experience my ex husband was just like that "good guy" and at the end of it he threw me away like garbage. Narcissists 100% hate boundaries so if you set some boundaries with this guy and he gets upset or extremely angry just know your dealing with a piece of shit narcissist.
I just went through something really similar but i’m soooo glad i got to leave him before i started to catch stronger feelings, she really needs to watch out cuz godddd they’ll make you feel like sh1t🥲
This! My narcissistic extremely physically abusive ex did this when we first started dating. I was 18 and just graduated high school when we started dating. I had confided in him that I was being abused by my family, and he started to act like my knight in shining armor. There were a lot of signs I didn't see while dating him, like us walking into a jewelry store while walking around the mall and him automatically going to the wedding rings in the first couple weeks of our dating. About a year into dating him, I finally couldn't take the abuse at home by my family so he said hay move in with me we have been dating a while and it would be cheaper rent for the both of us. A couple months after living together I became pregnant even though I was not ready for a baby and I was on birth control. I had gotten pregnant far before I wanted to because he had tampered with my birth control. After finding out I was pregnant he asked me to marry him and I agreed. Then he told me that we had to move to a different state because he was offered a job making more money there so we moved and I was cut off from everyone I knew. We were married in that new state and I had the baby and then he completely dropped his façade and became very physically and mentally abusive.
I love this podcast so much!!! I hope Shane comes back with a video fully on conspiracy theories, I’d love to watch a long Shane conspiracy video again!!
“High functioning” autistic person here 🙋🏼♀️ would looooove to talk all things autism with the crew ❤ it’s so nuanced and everyone on the spectrum experiences their “traits” so differently
Amen sis I’m the opposite of not feeling things the same, I feel things in a much more intense way but so I can’t tell if I’m over reacting and I need a lot of different perspectives from people because I can’t tell like how I’m “supposed” to feel about something. A lot of the time I just kinda don’t react to something in the moment cuz idk if what my reaction is is extreme or not cha feel?
i say things that are soooo inappropriate and offensive and i don’t even realize. like i’d actually do it in front of the pope, my mom, the president ect😭😭💀and everytime shane says smth gross out of nowhere i’m just like “me” lmfqo
Thanks for making me smile guys. It means so much. This is truly an escape. I’m 9 months pregnant getting induced this Thursday! and it has been such a dark time. I got cheated on and mentally and physically abused throughout. I worked and cooked and cleaned and he did nothing. So this escape means a lot. Love you guys xoxo
I'm so sorry that happened to you, I hope you are away from this person and getting the help and support you deserve... this podcast is a safe space for me too, they always make me smile! good luck to you
I just wanna point out how Respectfully Jared said I don’t know if I’m autistic, and I don’t wanna offend anyone. As a mom of two autistic children, my daughter is super severe nonverbal and my son being higher up on the spectrum. I just want to say how wonderful Jared worded everything I truly think I am and I won’t say I am till I’m fully gone through the testing process. So thank you Jared for how you worded everything♥️ I am starting the process of getting tested myself. I’ve always felt different my whole life from everyone else and It will finally be nice to get the answers i deserve. I do live in Canada and it’s very very very hard to get tested as an adult but hopefully one day I’ll find out if I am or not, I absolutely love this episode I’m sending you guys all love and peace from Canada❤❤❤❤❤
there are no tests for autism. a doctor will diagnose based on your answers to certain questions they ask, but there's no medical test of any kind for ASD. I'm in Canada too and trust me it's not hard to see a Dr. about a possible ASD diagnosis.
I had a big grin on my face when you were talking about autism, I was diagnosed many years ago as “a high functioning autistic ” and my son is now diagnosed with autism he’s non verbal with global developmental delay, everyone with autism definitely finds a way to shine one way or another and I am really looking forward to seeing someone with autism on your platform help to educate others on the baffling thing of the spectrum! It took me years to get my head around it all
My fiancé and I have been together for 6 years, and we just found out he has ASD recently. A lot of things made so much more sense to both of us. Thank you for starting the conversation - I don’t know anyone else personally who is dating someone on the spectrum, and it is definitely important to learn to communicate with each other since our brains naturally work very differently. I loved the SUPER specific shoutout haha 💕
My husband and I just found out in the last few years we both have adhd! We’ve both known for 3 years now and it was so wild to find out in my 20’s! Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked to find out I might have a little bit of autism in there
I'm on the spectrum of autism, so thank you guys for the topic! It feels really good to have support from you guys! I never thought this would happen. ❤
Y’all gotta realize you give oxygen to my lungs. I’ve always loved shane and this podcast is such a beacon of pure joy for me, to see my childhood “friends” still happy and talking and being together is just the best therapy for me. I love u guys!
Hey guys! I‘m on the spectrum and I‘m always so thankful for people that are spoken out about the topic. I love being able to talk to people about it without them holding me up to some stereotype they‘ve seen on some show. Talking about this in front of such a large audience gets people interested in the topic and makes such conversations possible for me. Thank you so much for that ❤ Hugs and kisses from Austria
I'm so sick of the autism trend lately. Not everyone is autistic just because they're introverts, intuitive and have anxiety. It's madness at this point. None of the ppl on this podcast truly have autism. -Shane is an INFJ empath. The ANTITHESIS of autism is empathy. -Jared is simply an ENTP personality that loves exploring ideas. He still has normal level of empathy and understands social cues. -Chris is very emotionally sensitive/empath. -Ryland is VERY aware of what is socially acceptable/unacceptable. That's why he's always on Shane's butt about watching what he says.
shane, i 100% grew up on your content and i totally credit you for my sense of humor. i’m so glad you came back to youtube and are happier with yourself. you deserve this!💗
Thank you for talking about misophonia ❤ I have struggled with this since I was little. It severely effects my work, relationships and day to day life to the point I fear going to public places. So many people think it’s something to joke with or they just think it’s fake. I’m so glad someone understands. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Love you ❤
Yes! I am ALWAYS commenting on videos where people pop gums like crazy and randomly eat and I just can’t watch those. I always say be mindful politely but no one cares and it’s usually people who are always talking about mental health and want their issues to be understood and respected but don’t care about others.
I've also struggled with it since childhood and I'm now 45. Unfortunately, my daughter also suffers with it. I always feel guilty about the way it makes me so full of rage... like, I honestly don't expect that people shouldn't eat... just not around me. I always worry about being so judgemental about something that is necessary for life. I just wish I could tune it out
I'm a late diagnosed autistic woman, and I generally don't comment when I think people are autistic too because idk how they'd feel - but I see it, especially in Shane. It seems like there's a lot of sensory issues there (that's how I got diagnosed). I always thought I had severe anxiety, but I was just constantly overwhelmed by sensory input I didn't realize was affecting me so much. Bad smells, bright overhead lights, mouth sounds (coughing, people talking with a dry mouth), prolonged skin to skin contact, you get the idea. Autistic people don't always have issues picking up on the emotional states of others. A lot of people with autism are actually HYPER empathetic - they just don't show it in the same way. There's a theory about this called the Double Empathy Problem. Also, Ryland made a comment about people claiming to have all sorts of things online without a proper diagnosis, and I see where he's coming from, but it's a little different with autism. It's still seen by many doctors as something that would appear in childhood, but so many of us fall through the cracks, especially women, LGBTQ, and people of color. Once you're an adult and hit burnout, you can lose the ability to mask your autistic traits, and it's really hard to get a diagnosis. Most people are misdiagnosed with things like bipolar, BPD, anxiety, depression, etc. Many of those can be comorbid, but treatment is often different for autists. Access to a diagnosis is the biggest struggle of all - it's insanely expensive (specifically for adults) and there are long waiting lists. Most of the autistic community validates self diagnosis 💜
I think Ryland was talking about tik tok people will claim they have something just because they do one thing like i saw a bunch of tik toks saying if you sit criss cross on a chair then you have autism. those little things lead to self diagnosing and takes away the seriousness of it all. so i think just being careful what is being put out there and what you’re relying on for information is vital.
thank you so much for explaining this!!!! i’m a lesbian woman and im almost positive im on the spectrum, and i don’t have a diagnosis for all the reasons you explained. it breaks my heart to hear people say that people on the spectrum don’t have empathy because i’m hyper-empathetic, like you explained, and it can be so overwhelming. once they began to move on from talking about autism i had literally all of what you said in my head so i went to check the comments, hoping that someone had already put it into words, and you so beautifully have, so thank you again ❤ im literally in tears writing this because it’s the hardest thing to have to explain all the time, so having someone else put it all into words is just wow!
I also came looking for this comment. Thanks for explaining the difficulties surrounding seeking a diagnosis. It's simply not accessible for a lot of people.
Yes! There’s great books about diagnosing autism in adults. I have so many sensory issues too, learning disabilities and massive social anxiety. This topic should be discussed more frequently, such little awareness on late diagnosis
AHHHH GUYS! SO GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT AUTISM I AM AUTISTIC AND I WILL ADMIT THAT I HAVE WONDERED ABOUT YOU AND CHRIS POSSIBLY BEING ON THE SPECTRUM TOO. SO AMAZING ABOUT THE POSITIVE VIEWS ON AUTISM ASWELL. I LOVE YOU GUYS, YOU ARE LIKE A GROUP OF FRIENDS TO ME! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ SHOOK OTHERS THOUGHT THIS TOO LOL
As you can tell this always cheers me up helps with my depression and I just want to say thank you to all of you it’s my favorite thing to happen to the internet in a while!
I seriously want to thank Ryland for what he said about not trying to diagnose himself with anything. I've actually been diagnosed (by doctors) with Autism, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and a few other psychiatric disorders. Borderline is apparently the new trendy thing for people to diagnose themselves with and it's seriously offensive because they're essentially belittling the struggle of people who actually suffer from it, like myself. It's hurtful too. Mental illness isn't something that should be trendy. There's serious danger in convincing yourself you have a mental illness because sometimes your brain may cause you to start exhibiting traits of that mental illness. It's like creating a whole new serious problem in your life that didn't need to be there, you put it there. It's so incredibly dangerous for someone to do this to themselves.
My husband and I are both on the spectrum, and we both appreciate the discussion!! Interestingly, I was diagnosed with ASD earlier in life, but my husband was diagnosed just this last year. He definitely has the hyper-focus, which has really benefited him in a lot of ways at his work. I'm a teacher, and I never thought I could achieve that goal. Thanks for taking time to discuss!

Shane, lowkey I love how you speak softly during the ads, it’s a much more relaxing experience than when podcasters super loud and giving 90s car dealership vibes lol
CiCi!! Beware! I dated online for a while, and the one guy that wanted me to marry him on our first date is now in jail for kidnapping a woman, stealing her jewelry and taking her across state lines. Another guy wanted me to be his girlfriend and we had not met, and I’m not ugly but this guy looked like a supermodel so I did a background check and he had a record for domestic violence. That’s why he was so desperate to have someone.
I was in my car in tears when I saw that you uploaded a video. As cliche as it sounds, this is my form of therapy and instantly makes me smile. As someone who has watched your videos for 5 plus years, I am thoroughly look forward to you all when you upload. ❤
Can’t wait to watch it shane! After such a hard week you always know how to cheer us all up. Absolutely love the podcast! Hope you are all doing well :)
Paris does a long segment in her documentary that explains why her voice does that. She's very open about it since talking about her abuse. It's basically due to trauma. She's been actively unmasking her real voice lately as much as possible. But I'm sure she sometimes slips back into the falsetto when she has to be "Paris "
It's so funny hearing yall mention Duck Dynasty bc I literally live right down the road from them 🤣 I can promise you they have always looked like the backwoods hillbillys that most people envision when they think of people in Louisiana lmao
Ryland was 100% correct at 50 mins when he said the dwarves sing 'it's off to work we go' on the way to the mines before the apple scene. They do sing it twice.
Shane you should talk more about conspiracy theories like the Simpson predictions and stuff like that It’s so interesting and amazing on how much effort you put in ur videos Love you!
Oh my gosh I loved how you guys were with talking about autism. My brother and my boyfriend both have Aspergers and it just makes me so happy seeing you guys talking positively about autism. Advice for the girl asking about things moving quickly on their first date:
Be cautious.
Love this advice!! Super important to learn about this
I was literally thinking this the entire time she was describing her date. She needs to RUN! She even said herself "too good to be true," well girl, it is. RUN! 🏃 💨

Mandela effects are awesome and they’re a core memory we hold with you Shane. If you can’t find any new ones that’s okay but please don’t cancel it bc you think we all don’t want it. I know I do. It’s a good time for me hearing how excited you all get over them and also I’m usually really shocked.
I love them! I don’t care if they are dumb I want them all
Thank you Ryland!! I'm so tired of self diagnosing and I know everyone is just diagnosing by tiktok and I'm over it. Pretty sure 60% of those saying they have a condition are just jumping on a band wagon.
SAME. And then when they get called out they gaslight

Do you actually even listen to the content? Hopefully they are donating money. Because I don't ever hear the support.
Ryland is correct. When they go to work “it’s off to work we go” when they’re done with work “it’s home from work we go” #disneykid #noshame

My son is 4 and autistic! He's non verbal. Thank you for talking positively on it. I always tell him "What makes you different, makes you beautiful."
good for you 👍👍☺️☺️
If you’re really gonna keep making us wait 2 weeks for a podcast at least y’all could make them 6 hours long. Bc that’s what we want!! We need weekly pods! Love y’all

Really touched my heart when Shane gave him the shoes you could see how much it meant to him.
Ryland: “Don’t get yourself legally tied up.”
Shane out of nowhere while everyone is yelling: “In the back of the trunk?! Tied up?”
I diedddd.
Ahhhh❤❤❤❤autistic people are amazing
Wishing your son the best in life!!
@Queencatlady333 Godspeed. 👼❤🕊🙏
@Queencatlady333 Nice pikachu shirt in your photo, only he's missing the black tip on his tail. 😉👕🤔👍
I’m autistic, I loved them bringing it up until Jared said we don’t feel emotions… 💀
To clarify, just because we can’t fully read or understand other peoples emotions doesn’t mean we don’t have any… if anything autistic people are more emotional 😂
It makes me really sad to see Chris so okay with how bad his boyfriend treats him. He deserves better PERIOD.
Wait what
Its a fucking booger. You act like hes getting abused
We also don’t know him or their private situation/conversations.
I love when people out themselves as parasocial on the internet, you don't know anything about them 😭
Ayo? Lmao
This is EXACTLY what I said!!! He’s love bombing the sh*t out her…and if he can tie her down by marriage or baby, he has all the control!
It's called "love bombing". It's always a red flag.
Yes, avoid at all costs!!! The pain is not worth it. Trust me it feels like they’re your soulmate but they’re a wolf in soulmate’s clothing.

Scrolled down to this comment and IMMEDIATELY reached the phonecall abt autism lol
I’m so happy we could help you both feel seen! I love a specific shoutout!! Hahahaha
My husband and I just found out in the last few years we both have adhd! We’ve both known for 3 years now and it was so wild to find out in my 20’s! Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked to find out I might have a little bit of autism in there
You guys should talk about the troubled teen industry and the abuse in there because it’s actually INSANE and needs more exposure!!

Thank you so much for that ❤
Hugs and kisses from Austria
You’ve helped me through a lot, going through a breakup rn and you’re the only one that helped me through it! All love to Shane and friends
shane, i 100% grew up on your content and i totally credit you for my sense of humor. i’m so glad you came back to youtube and are happier with yourself. you deserve this!💗
Thank you for talking about misophonia ❤ I have struggled with this since I was little.
Thank you for putting all of that so perfectly ❤
Yes! There’s great books about diagnosing autism in adults.
I have so many sensory issues too, learning disabilities and massive social anxiety. This topic should be discussed more frequently, such little awareness on late diagnosis

It's so incredibly dangerous for someone to do this to themselves.
self dx is valid too 😊😊
don’t be worried about others diagnosis. you sound weird.
getting diagnosed is trendy in america. Sincerely, a nurse from Switzerland
comtroveral opinion, but i feel the same when a man claims they are a women. you can’t “diagnose” yourself with that

CiCi!! "Fights with Shane and Ryland" is my favorite thing ever LOL
Paris does a long segment in her documentary that explains why her voice does that. She's very open about it since talking about her abuse. It's basically due to trauma. She's been actively unmasking her real voice lately as much as possible. But I'm sure she sometimes slips back into the falsetto when she has to be "Paris "
Ryland deserves the world. Always the vibe
