The original story was going to be a love story with asha and star being a shape-shifting star boy, which explains the song " at all cost " demo version I recommend checking out saffiro animatic to see the concept come to live.
The reason why the people don’t remember their wish’s is once it’s out of you, you forget it until you get it back. Pay attention.

I was thinking the same thing. They say it in the opening song, and it's repeated when she meets the King. It's made pretty clear by the time she is talking to her grandfather about his wish not being granted.

I loved this movie. I love Asha and the blend of 3D and 2D animation is incredible. I also love the callbacks to the originals as the Disney100 movie.
The king said once they give up their wish. That they forget them.

Wish es el principio de todas las películas Disney,la magia buena,que los animales hablen y los villanos con su niebla verde,el rey magnífico se transforma en el espejo de la reina malvada de Blancanieves,etc...
The mirror from Snow White is not the same mirror as the tip of the staff that Magnifico is in. The mirror in Snow White is far bigger and also a different shape and colour. The art book specifies that these are just nods to the older movies, not origin stories. Wish is set in the 12th century at the earliest and animals could talk in Disney movies that take place before Wish and magic existed in Disney movies that take place before Wish, including Sword in the Stone, the Black Cauldron, Hercules, Mulan, Aladdin, Dinosaur and Moana.

How did you think the grandfather was the sorcerer? Sorry, not trying to be cheeky, but I don't get that... They explained it pretty clearly, and in the opening book, they show illustrations that look exactly like Magnifico, and say he founded the kingdom...

I feel like you guys popped an edible before this... Definitely hard to watch this reaction which is sad because this movie is so beautiful... I watched 3 other reactions to this movie and you're the only ones so far that had THIS hard of a time focusing and figuring it out... the worst movie, asha selfish and capricious, maginico was right
Magnifico is an almost beat-for-beat parallel of American capitalism, and people are afraid to condemn him because it would mean re-examining things they're comfortable with in real life. Just like how people give up their wishes at 18 in Rosas, people give up their dreams in real life to serve a company that doesn't care about them. Wish is way smarter and more subversive than anyone realizes and people who say Magnifico is actually good are making the movie's point for it.
