Quality of flight time doesn’t matter any more, especially for regionals. I went to a part 141 college aviation program, flight instructed for one year, went to Envoy for one year, and then was hired by a major airline with only 1,567 total flight hours (550 turbine). Get those hours to the minimum requirement as soon as possible so, you can advance your career as soon as possible.

I flew traffic watch over Southern California freeways in a 172 to build time. It was super quick. Now I have my CJO with sky West and I'm waiting for training 🙂

Skydiving is a great gig! It was pure fun to me back in the 90's

Great podcast guys! Honestly being so new ALL of those options sound great. I only have about 7 hours in my logbook but looking forward to all of it. I am hoping there are opportunities for me with being a part time CFI or doing some of these other jobs on the side while I keep my 9-5 to retain the pay and health benefits for my family while building those hours.

Juggling full time work, how many flight hours per week are you averaging?

Some extra info about flying 135, several regionals will give you seniority/bonuses for 135 expierence. Off of the top of my head I know PSA does, maybe republic or mesa partake as well. Getting captain pay the minute you join the operation is quite the reward

Interesting. I’m not terribly interested in going the 121 route… but that being said, how much 135 experience are they looking for in order to provide that seniority or bonus? I’d like to know so I can let my 121 seeking friends know.

QUESTION: What is the best sequence to take the flight written exams to ensure passing the 1rst time?--How soon would you take the ATP written exam?

As long the skydiving pilot doesn't also simultaneously do the jumping like UA-camr Trevor Jacob everything should be just fine...

I only saw a pilot skydive for a good cause, they made contact midair with another airplane, lose of control surfaces
