It's always annoying listening to people talk about "your industry". Trump clearly wasn't on any part of the construction side of his building projects. Judging by what he's saying, he probably just hired a construction manager, and only dealt with the financial aspects of the project. Saying that he's putting rebar in a concrete wall, as if it's some sort of novel / specific addition, with the intent to stop people from breaking in, is so absolutely out of touch it's not even funny. Virtually all concrete in building construction has rebar/embedded steel inside. It's effectively mandatory, because concrete can't handle any stress that isn't compressive. It's always annoying listening to people talk about "your industry". Trump clearly wasn't on any part of the construction side of his building projects. Judging by what he's saying, he probably just hired a construction manager, and only dealt with the financial aspects of the project. Saying that he's putting rebar in a concrete wall, as if it's some sort of novel / specific addition, with the intent to stop people from breaking in, is so absolutely out of touch it's not even funny. Virtually all concrete in building construction has rebar/embedded steel inside. It's effectively mandatory, because concrete can't handle any stress that isn't compressive. The only projects I'm aware of that is just concrete are dams. Any concrete wall built today, has rebar in it. There's absolutely no reason to ever make a note of it. It's like saying that you're baking an awesome new bread, and telling people it's got flour in it.

The bill specifically urges the government to use the materials on the wall (but can opt to transfer or donate), and asks them to submit a plan to congress outlining their plan so they can be kept in the loop. The bill does not in any way or conceivable reality force the Biden government to sell the wall. I’ve noticed that Steven does an awful lot of due diligence when it comes to sourcing arguments that are critical of Trump, but essentially zero whatsoever (not even looking at the bill, only reading headlines and taking zero time to evaluate claims) when it comes to arguments that might be critical of the Biden government.
