- Electrical problems? How to replace the TIPM totally integrated powertrain control module (pcm) & fuse block for Dodge / Chrysler / Jeep on this 2009-2010 Grand Caravan (town & country, fiat Freemont, Mitsubishi ASX outlander sport, vw Tiguan)
Car won’t start or doesn’t shut off. Power windows don’t work, drains battery, ABS ESP dash warning indicator lights. Keeps running, PRND gear indicator not showing or fuel pump internal relay problems.

Did it stop draining the battery?
Yes , drainage solved but also I found one of the main pins to the ABS module plug was severely corroded as well, which may have been one of the contributing factors to bad connection or poor connection resulting in PCM failure. I think the ABS module & main plug for the abs module (on the firewall behind the battery ) caused resistance and connectivity issues resulting in PCM and abs failure. Replacing one or both modules and repairing the damaged ABS plug pin/wire solved a bunch of issues in my situation.
... I think the ABS plug is commonly overlooked and possibly a common problem where I found one of the main wires was damaged from the connector pin being corroded and or heat damaged from resistance. I can see this being commonly overlooked and causing a multitude of related issues pertaining to abs trac control speed sensors , bad grounds or poor connections causing modules to fail due to resistance or short malfunctions. These vehicle and era mopars are known for bad/poor or dirty grounds, wiring issues and modules. 🤷🏽♂️ especially up here in the rust belt where sodium chloride 🧂 salt brine and other corrosive chemicals are used to treat the snow and dirt covered roads

Helpful info and video - thanks! Where was the ABS connector you mentioned you found corroded? I have a 2010 T&C 3.8L/6spd, 142k, been having intermittent ABS lights for over a year. This sounds more likely to be my problem rather than speed sensors or the ABS controller.
There is a big connector down below around the steering and brakes under the hood. It a big plug and it’s the only one going down to the ABS module. If I unplug the ABS module or the main power to the ABS (which was corroded and possibly melted) it runs and drives fine. I suspect faulty ABS module feedback causing the CPU to short or malfunction. If it runs and drives with NO ABS I suspect ABS module faulty internally

Please help me... i have dodge caravan 2018... recently the break lights didn't turn off and it kept lighting and the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery, and we replaced the brake pedal switch and nothing happened the same problem was here , waiting for your response and thanks !
Try to unplug the pedal switch. If that works, it just needs to be adjusted
Cool it worked. Any particular issues with the Dodge Journey you have? I have an 09 Journey AWD R/T with tire light flashing. It’s mostly on but goes away randomly. Have to jiggle shifter at times to get it started. Anyways, cheers.
Maybe a low battery in one of the TPMS sensor . My friend and I both had rear alignment and camber issues with the journeys , wearing out tires prematurely on the rear. My caravan had a slightly sticky or misaligned shifter cable at first, sometimes had to bang it into park firmly to get the key out lol 😂. Seems better now though
@@613Builds Dodges can be so dodgy sometimes. I did originally replace my TPMS on all 4 wheels, had same problem after. Could be wiring somewhere or bad/missing ground from what I’ve read. Funny enough, I too have a Grand Caravan(2007). No issues with TIPM but it feels like the shifter is sticky when switching gears.
With the camber/toe issues on the Journey, mine was similar. Had to replace the rear upper control arms(adjustable after market)to correct it. Originally thought it was bad shocks in my case, unfortunately it wasn’t. Live and learn I guess.
My 2012 caravan has new battery and died while driving and wouldn't start. Lights and radio still work but horn and power windows and locks won't work. Hour later it starts fine. Drove for a week no issues then happened again. Sat for the day and started again and drove home. Haven't touched it since. Is it fuse box or fuel pump relay, or alternator
Sounds like your TIPM is causing problems. Same thing happened to mine. New alternator, new battery all of a sudden it wouldn't start. Unplugged the fuse box for 30 minutes and bingo all codes went away van started. But alternator still isn't working so I'm hoping new fuse box fixes that.
Likely the computer which is built into the fuse box . It’s totally integrated powertrain control module . Otherwise check the grounds and codes but likely the TIPM. Mine also had a shorted out ABS module. If I removed the ABS plug or fuse , it would run.
I have a 2008 Dodge Caravan 3.8. My gauge cluster and turn signals quit working. Windshield wipers stay on unless I pull the fuse. Other then that the car runs and drives fine. Do you think I should replace my TIPM?
I’m not sure those issues may not be be related to the powertrain control module, but wouldn’t hurt to look at the connections and make sure they aren’t corroded.
My van is doing same all dash quit working windows turn signals wipers stay on unless fuse is pulled do you think if I replaced the computer like you did or something else.
You could unplug the TIPM (computer) and check the connections there. Sounds like either the TIPM or bad ground / bad connections.

That would be the blend door actuator , or the blend door itself.
Maybe you should have sprayed out the conections, and then put electrical grease on them. Might have save you some money.
2011 Dodge Grand Caravan starts up fine no problem but after 15 minutes of driving it shuts off and drains battery but I recharge it and starts back up…brand new battery and alternator have been done still does it!! Could this be it?
It could be the fuel pump relay which is built into the the TIPM . Any error codes or service lights? Could be the alternator or connection to the alternator. You can check it for output with a multimeter or battery tester. If it’s the fuel pump relay you can sometimes hear the fuel pump running. Otherwise check connections , grounds, alternator ground, engine ground, output voltage , etc
@@613Builds I’m buying it from someone who was gonna junk it for 400$ and they said they put a new alternator and battery in it already so I was gonna take a chance on it probably going to anyways just never worked on a grand caravan
@@jasonraper5096 good idea ✅ I got mine for 600 same thing , had an issue previous owner couldn’t figure it out. Sometimes would run sometimes wouldn’t. Scrap is up over 400 per ton so you’ll make gains even if it’s total scrap 😎👍🏽 also I had a badly corroded pin on the big ABS module plug so check those if you can

nice! i actually like it better than the 2012 Journey because its a solid rear axle and good old 3.3L engine with way more cargo room. this one is the 25th anniversary edition so it has a bigger touchscreen than the journey and dvd player. i know its a soccer mom rig but i really like it. i had a PT cruiser previously before and i could fit my dirtbike in the back (with no back seats)
Can TIPM cause the alternator to not work?
Possibly 🤷🏽♂️ I’m not sure. You could check for input and output to the alternator and go from there
