The adrenaline! I got almost as jacked up as you 😂. Absolutely unbelievable boat control! I don't think I could have landed that fish standing on terra firma. Amazing!! Thanks Elias
Big snook are SOOO SPECIAL ! Have to be geared up for battle, I can not tell you how many I have lost. Right time, right tackle and know how to land the monsters. Awesome job as usual.
Dude... when it first hit I thought it was a tarpon. Huge snook! How you prevented it from getting off in the mangroves is beyond me but shows just how good you really are with that drag adjustment. Bravo
Nothing better than snook in close quarters IMO. Awesome video man and I know the heartbreak feeling all too well. Tight lines and them gators won't mess with ya.
Elias, I have my Pro Angler 14 coming in the next three weeks. And hope to see you on the water around Wrightsville soon. I have to say thanks for your videos. Because I have actually been using them as study guides. Along with a lot of other research of course. It’s so funny to hear the reaction in your voice about gators. But have no problem being in deeper water with sharks. Take care and be safe making your way home.
hay hay... Elias 2 fridays back I was catching Chchlids, Oscars, and Peacock bass. Also large mouth here and there. Had a great time. Woah, look at that Snook. He is a real beauty. So nice... Did you even measure it? I wasn't using them as bait, just catch and release. I was really going for Peacocks. We caught quite a few.
Didn't measure. I'm less inclined to leave fish out of the water for YT and Instagram shots lately. Have 36" marked on the kayak and laid it next to that and it was a bit over so I'll guess around 37"/38"
Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows will catch everything in FL just about. I use them for snook, redfish and trout but they will catch just about any predatory fish down here. Also be careful what you use for live bait in the rivers as there are different rules and regulations. For instance you cannot use a game fish for a bait fish down here, so bream or sunfish are off limits though bass and snook feed on them heavily in the fresher water areas. As for using cichlids, great idea and one I never really thought of, but given they are an invasive the more removed the better and if you can catch some nice snook in the process, hey...👍👊
loved the vid - But was nervous that as you were releasing that trophy snook. a gator could possibly come up and grab it from that darker water underneath. Stay safe
I went to Everglades national park and at the visitor center there was a pond and marsh and basically all the fish are invaders except the largemouths. Looks like there is enough food for everyone down there
Awesome fish dude. Thought it might be a tarpon at first. You'll probably slam them on artificials, I got mine on little 4" Zmans when I was there. It's surprising that there is no stocking program for those fish seeing as they're so highly pursued and the slot is so narrow.
Nice fish! Just a little advice from a true Floridian, wear closed toed shoes. If something goes south and you need to walk or swim, the flip flops can be life threatening, ie... unsure footing, severe cuts on feet, toes, and hands when you fall. After 65 years of fishing the entire state of Florida, I cantaloupe you from experience, if it hasn’t happen yet it will. Nice video!
The cichlids are are GREAT eating fish. Get some that are filleting size and and man oh man. They’re invasive and you’re encouraged to keep all you catch. I know we fill coolers full of em when we get the chance.
Being from Michigan but spending a lot of time on the water in Florida in a 10.5' yak around gators i've never been bothered. Should I be more cautious? I just keep going at a slow pace and they always just disperse. Whats protocol in the kayak?
If anyone is interested in the floating blue bait bucket it is a Florida made product available here - baitshark.com/?aff=3
Lol fantastic bait bucket and made just down the road from me!
I have been wondering and just never asked! Thank you
looks helpful!
Yeah that caught my eye. Ordered the 5 qt. to try with bunker. Thx for the link.

Elias, Show us your Giants! Great Snook! Wow that's a big one.
Prayers sent for Meg, Elias. God bless
"you can't go there" haha nice job, intense fight, congrats
The adrenaline! I got almost as jacked up as you 😂. Absolutely unbelievable boat control! I don't think I could have landed that fish standing on terra firma. Amazing!! Thanks Elias
Lol I screamed out loud when you lost the first one like it was me fishing
I held my breath as you revived the snook. Kept expecting a gator to jump up for a snack!
Big snook are SOOO SPECIAL ! Have to be geared up for battle, I can not tell you how many I have lost. Right time, right tackle and know how to land the monsters. Awesome job as usual.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! The everglades is a very special place, again thanks for sharing your techniques in such a beautiful place.
Best video yet! Love the live bait fishing and hearing you out of breath.
Mayan cichlid. Nice panfish. Very tasty. You can catch tilapia on tiny grass shrimp.
Might be one of my favorite videos you’ve done yet. The last one with the goliaths on chatter baits was bad ass too
When you know you have a "PB"-- adrenaline dump!! Awesome landing that in the tight water Elias.
That fight with the Snook looked intense. Great catch.
Dude... when it first hit I thought it was a tarpon. Huge snook! How you prevented it from getting off in the mangroves is beyond me but shows just how good you really are with that drag adjustment. Bravo
me too! I thought it was a tarpon at first
Heck of a Snook there, Elias. Can't wait till N.C. fishing weather improves.
I wish I could hit the "thumbs up" multiple times.
Nice vid Elias, that Snook was definitely a quality fish, I always enjoy your vids...🤙🏼🤙🏼

Not a 40 but a good one.

You can use bream and sunfish for bait. Only if they are caught on hook and line with no cast net on board.
Incredible, Elias!!! Wow...
Great job, nice change of pace
Nice fight on those!
Elias V the 🐐
loved the vid - But was nervous that as you were releasing that trophy snook. a gator could possibly come up and grab it from that darker water underneath. Stay safe

Well worth the effort ... quite a catch.

Your going to get addicted to snook fishing now! My biggest was 50 inches..
Gators aren't a problem, it the saltwater crocs that will eat you...LOL!
“Don’t try that ish with me!!” - Elias V
thinking of live baits, the kayak I got the guy installed a live well. I'm in the process of down some cosmetic work to it but it works.

Love this, searching for monsters 👹!
Wow that was a toad backwater snook!!
Great video Elias. Was wondering what your thoughts are on the HMG inshore
Try a rebel jumping minnow or zara spook in bone or silver. Early in the day.
That was so sick🤙
Have bought two bait sharks for the yaks since subbing.... great investment 👌
Quality fish, quality video
Awesome dude.
Awesome adventure
That was an absolute Pig of a Snook !!!! What part of the Glades are you in???

Awesome fight. How is the mosquito situation in the everglades?
Looking like those spinfishers have help up the best?
How's the biting bugs back in the mangrove ? 😎
That's a cool live bait bucket. What brand is that?
Nice snook
@7:25 🔥🔥🔥
Nice video brother keep it up!
Are you just on vacation or are you planning on making southern florida a home?
On vacation ideally when fishing is slow in the Carolinas a part time home will hopefully be in my future
Was there a part 2 or is this a star wars thing.
