    In this video you will learn how to do a modified plank on knees for beginner, a great form of plank exercise variations. The beginner plank on knees focuses on core activation and core strengthening, and is a fantastic low back pain exercise and a great exercise to help correct poor posture.
    The beginners plank exercise on knees is a great beginner plank variations because it decreases the stress on the low back during the plank exercise, and helps to focus on core activation with less moving body parts from a traditional plank.
    For how to do the modified plank on knees, begin face down on the ground, then slowly rise up so that your touching the ground on your knees. This beginner plank position takes stress of your low back area. Then go onto your forearms, bent to roughly 90 degrees, and try to keep as straight as possible from your neck, through your torso, down your legs into your knees. Contract your core during this, and hold this beginner plank exercise for as long as you can, from 5 seconds to one minute. Try to repeat from 2-3 repetitions.
    This beginner plank on knees should not be painful. Some muscle tightness is normal, but acute pain is not. If it is painful, please stop, as there are other modified plank variations which may be better.
