Years ago now, the last time i was through Chicago i had dream later that night. I knew i would never return to the Emerald City - at least to live ... still will always have a special place in my heart though.
Eyerish .B consistently crap. Only ever listened to a few songs by them years ago. Tossers are second only to The Pogues within the genre, as far as I'm concerned. I like DKM, but they don't really come close.
Since i moved to Florida, this song is my main reminder of my Chicago roots. Absolutely love it. Amazing job and the video is oure nostalgia for me, thabk you guys for your music.
Saw them last night in Detroit. Fantastic show. If you get the chance, definitely go see them. Afterwards the band came out and mingled with the crowd, got a couple of pictures with them. They were really cool and very approachable. I wish more people supported groups like this.
Saw them in '07,Paddy's Day,NYC,Roseland Ballroom, opening for The Pogues. How's that for a daily double. Tony said, from the stage,it was the greatest fucking night of his life. He hung out in the crowd after their set. Nice guy.
absolutly feckin' brilliant! this album is going to be class! The Mahones just came out a brilliant alubm in November, and no the the Tossers this March, its quite the time for CelticPunk.
It's really interesting to see the difference of the subject matter of their old songs compared today. 15 years ago they were stuck in jail, now he has a family.
Saw these fellas in Orlando summer of 2015. I was far too belligerently drunk half way through their set that I don't remember the rest of it. actually a bit heartbreaking considering they're one of my favourite acts around. one more excuse to see them again.
This is a great song it actually reminds me of The Wizard of Oz, the name for this song/album Emerald City is just awesomesauce, i love the album artwork for this album, its brilliant! :D Happy Late St Patricks Day!!
toolcat973 Hello to you too :D , yeah im celebrating it all this week since tomorrow is when i celebrate it with my parents, grandmas aunts, uncle etc.. Hope your having a great St Pattys Day :) ☘🍀🍻🌱🌈🍀☘
I smoked all winter long. Only the dog walked on 3 legs that winter, lol. Street too cold to touch all four. And he was a Pomeranian-Chihuahua. Hasn't been that cold in Chicago consistently since.
Questa canzone molto Irish parla dell'America...non mi piace un granché come cosa ma la musica dei The Tossers é sempre bellissima, anche in questo caso!
Chicago is called the emerald city too?.... I'm a bit confused... I know Seattle is called the emerald city... Could someone drop me some knowledge? Loved the song...
To be fair though, Seattle's lost a lot of the charm that gave it it's own individuality in recent years... (and now with all the 'dot com' business in the area, it's practically "Silicon Valley 2.0".)
Bart Stoll Could be for different reasons. No need to be rude to my beautiful lady. I love Chicago myself but if it weren't for the other emerald city...I hadn't met my girl. She sent me this song because it made her think of us even though she knows it's about Chicago...it's still fitting, just as she knows that I love Chicago and this type of music. Though, there's no place I'd rather be than with her, no matter where that'd be.
“Yet once you've come to be part of this particular patch, you'll never love another. Like loving a woman with a broken nose, you may well find lovelier lovelies. But never a lovely so real.” Chicago
The Tossers did for me, what the Pogues did for others in the eighties. I appreciate it.
Well said, I feel like the Tosser's are carrying on the Pogues spirit with their music. Shane and Tony can write the hell out of some songs.
Hi
Yes sir. T isnt as drunk as Shane though. I think booze made the legend.
Check out Flatfoot56, another great Chicago Irish group!
@@vatokiss I agree with that.
Years ago now, the last time i was through Chicago i had dream later that night. I knew i would never return to the Emerald City - at least to live ... still will always have a special place in my heart though.
By far the most consistent band in the folk/punk genre.
Flogging molly is pretty consistent
Eyerish .B
consistently crap. Only ever listened to a few songs by them years ago. Tossers are second only to The Pogues within the genre, as far as I'm concerned. I like DKM, but they don't really come close.
Flogging molly is awesome.
Floggin' Who.....? XDD
Comparing Flogging Molly to Tossers is like comparing U2 to Horslips
Agree. The Tossers have a similar sound and style as the Pogues. DKM have a harder, closer to true punk, style. I haven't listened to Flogging Molly.
This is truly a great video on the Irish in Chicago.
@Bentlee Damon I do not care.
Since i moved to Florida, this song is my main reminder of my Chicago roots. Absolutely love it. Amazing job and the video is oure nostalgia for me, thabk you guys for your music.
@devinwalker6231
I’ve been in Florida 13 years now and every day I miss Chicago even more. I’d move back in a heartbeat if I could.
A fine tribute to the windy city. Makes me a bit homesick. Slainte, boys!

Gorgeous song. If they ever come to Belgium, they will have a warm welcome!
Purely and passionately. beautiful.
This song makes me homesick.
What a great video! I can't get enough of the Tossers.
This perhaps has to be my only guilty pleasure as being Slavic. Loving Celtic punk like I'm Irish. Cheers!
T. Duggins is hands down the coolest fucker around. It's always a pleasure to watch the Tossers do what they do best!
One of my favorite music videos of all time for sure!
It's really interesting to see the difference of the subject matter of their old songs compared today. 15 years ago they were stuck in jail, now he has a family.
Rebecca is a beautiful and very talented musician. I'm really bummed she's no longer in the band.
Same here :(
Beautiful
The love of my life loved
Love you Granny!
100 % Tossers style! Thank you!!

Not sure how I came across this video as this certainly is not the type of music I listen to, however ... I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Saw these fellas in Orlando summer of 2015. I was far too belligerently drunk half way through their set that I don't remember the rest of it. actually a bit heartbreaking considering they're one of my favourite acts around. one more excuse to see them again.

1909 my great grandfather died in a construction accident while working in Chicago - sending money home to Mayo.

Ryan Guthrie CHIBERIA! Thundersnow! I survived!
I smoked all winter long. Only the dog walked on 3 legs that winter, lol. Street too cold to touch all four. And he was a Pomeranian-Chihuahua. Hasn't been that cold in Chicago consistently since.

Chicago is called the emerald city too?.... I'm a bit confused... I know Seattle is called the emerald city... Could someone drop me some knowledge? Loved the song...
Seattle isn't worthy to carry Chicago's lunch pail. I live in Ohio now, but 4800 N. Damen will always be home.
To be fair though, Seattle's lost a lot of the charm that gave it it's own individuality in recent years... (and now with all the 'dot com' business in the area, it's practically "Silicon Valley 2.0".)

The basis of The Emerald city from the Wizard of Oz is inspired by Chicago When it hosted the worlds fair in the late 1900
fuckin great
I think I'll have a Guinness.
The violin playing ginger is hot
You rang? :P jk lol
This is a sincere question, but isn't Seattle the Emerald City?
What brand is that mandolin?
I want to know also...
Ubisoft should have put that in Watch_Dogs.
The only great band on Victory records..
.
Simon says- only the Pogues are allowed to use tin whistles.
baphomick Uh, no.
The...The Tossers?
Pogues Mk 2. But in a very good way, started where Shane left off 🍀👍
No Chicago
Are you a Pogues cover band?
kind of reminds me of the pogues, kind of.
Haha tap tap revenge tour
Southside Irish...🍀
This is pretty cool, but it would be at least a million times cooler if played on an upright.
“Yet once you've come to be part of this particular patch, you'll never love another. Like loving a woman with a broken nose, you may well find lovelier lovelies. But never a lovely so real.”
Chicago
Don't tell me about the east side I want to go west
Who came here thinking it was about The Wizard Of Oz? :-)
Everybody has a seven year itch where is Toto
Go hiontach ar fad lads
These lads are quite good but not in the league of the pogues,in their heyday pogues were magnificent and Shane macgowan was a genius songwriter
