    I see you commented the below and I have a question.
    "The wood trim boards in this video were anchored into wall studs so the support brackets for the clothes rod didn't need to anchor into a wall stud. If you don't have these trim boards I would try to find a wall stud to anchor the support brackets on each end. If you're talking about the center of the clothes rod for a support bracket, the length of the clothes rod was under 4' so I didn't put support bracket in the center and the clothes rod works fine. Wider lengths it might be a good idea to have a center support"
    My question: Oh my closet looks exactly like this.. I have that wood trim board that supports the clothing rod. I want it raised higher (get rid of the shelf over it and raise the rod) Do I need another wood trim board support up higher in order to do this? (I don't know if I'm asking the question properly)

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  7 років тому +1

      I would either install another trim board or mount the brackets into a wall stud if you can find one that's in the proper location. The clothes rod has to support quite a bit of weight so I don't think using wall anchors would work.

    Thanks for sharing this video. Is the brand of the closet rod you installed an "Everbilt"? I purchased mine from Home Depot, also, and it came with the plastic support brackets, that you showed, plus two others that are sort of a cradle support. Should both support brackets be used?

  • @yolandagomez9255
    @yolandagomez9255 Рік тому

    A question please: why do some videos use support brackets for the shelf and others like yours don’t? I put 2 brackets in the middle for the shelf but if I don’t need it I’ll remove them. I’m only going to hang clothes and the shelf will be more folded clothes

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  Рік тому

      My closet rod kit didn't have a support bracket included. If you've already added support brackets in the middle I would leave them in place.

  • @LaNina0321

    I’m glad to find this video. I had no clue those were the brackets on the ends. I bought new metal brackets. My son has a lot of clothes that made his wood pole buckle. I have the brushed nickel rods. Will the brackets that were included be strong enough?

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  6 років тому +1

      Might need a center support bracket if the rod is bowing.

    What if I want one some where there isn’t already the wide molded onto the wall? I’m adding a second one in my closet and there’s no wood how do I go about mounting it onto the wall. Do I just mount the wood with dry wall anchors?

    How do you replace a broken socket as rod will not fit back unless place in new socket first, but then how to screw the new socket into the wall since the rod in the way? Thanks!

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  2 роки тому

      The clothes rod telescopes so you would need to replace rod mount first, then telescope rod onto mount and install anchor screw that secures clothes rod to mount.

      @@Iscaper Not very handy when comes to home repair. Now, If I could find a rod that expands that could then be stretched to the width of the current rod, that would be great. I know make rods that expand with suction ends. If could find one with normal rod ends to inset into plastic holders that sounds like would work. But are rods available that can expand in length? Thanks!

      We're From Poland / Polska. Same problem. Sometimes family lives Far from Store. Or inventory No Good. We made Closet Rod out of Different items. We used Bicycle J-hooks, found the 2x4 in the Closet Ceiling at 24inch apart on center pre drilled small hole and screwed in 4 Bike J-hooks. Then We Used a Sturdy Metal Curtain Rod. Now We have 2 closet Rods. Top rod at about 80 to 82 inches from Floor and the second rod traditionally mounted from wall to wall About 40 Inches above Floor.

    Hi,
    I bought this exact same clothing rod from HomeDepot too. Do you know if this clothing rod needs the support of a rod closet bracket?

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  9 років тому

      The wood trim boards in this video were anchored into wall studs so the support brackets for the clothes rod didn't need to anchor into a wall stud. If you don't have these trim boards I would try to find a wall stud to anchor the support brackets on each end. If you're talking about the center of the clothes rod for a support bracket, the length of the clothes rod was under 4' so I didn't put support bracket in the center and the clothes rod works fine. Wider lengths it might be a good idea to have a center support.
