Yes! An introvert friend and I both said "if someone had told me I'd have to spend weeks on end in my house not seeing other people, my response would be "where do I sign?"" That said, I didn't like working from home for the most part. I like my stuff around me.
Coming from a guy who use to be the “extroverted” type, becoming an introvert actually helped me become more independent as well as enjoy solitude(which isn’t the same as loneliness/isolation). This is also not to say that extroverts can’t be independent. Everyone is different.
I LOVE it when plans are canceled. I feel good because I "tried" to get together, but it wasn't my fault that plans fell apart. So I sit at home satisfied. But try to act sad that things didn't go as planned obviously.
As an introvert I can say this is very accurate. The most exhausting thing is to explain everything. You have to explain yourself. Why you don't want to go out. Why you don't want to call. Why you don't want to party. Why you don't like 80% other people do. I always have the feeling that extrovert people just have to quiet down, but introverts can never change their behavior because it would feel insincere. We always want to do what is necessary, not what is expected. I don't hate people, on the contrary: that is why I am so introvert in public. don't bother other people with your behavior or wishes.
Kudos to the person who arranged the stock footage for this video. Usually videos just grab random stuff thinking it applies. These photos do a good job of capturing what an introvert would look like at home and in the wild. I could relate to many of the images. The reason introverts "secretly" love these things is because it would require us to interact with another human to tell them we love these things for it to not be a secret. So, they view it as a secret and we view it as normal.
An introvert clearly had a hand in putting this video together. It is insightful and I hope many will watch and learn about the introverts in their lives.
100%. I think I am more of an introvert than ANYONE I know. Normally, I never feel alone, but have noticed at times that I desperately seek connections. It takes so much for me to open up and let someone in. I have to be extremely careful. If I let someone in (like a covert Narcissist) and they betray my trust or discard me, I go under so deep that it takes a random and very rare twist of fate for me ever to open up again. I love not only when it rains, but when it storms or snows. I love my dogs, cats and nature but don't care for people in general but tolerate them. I love getting caught up in Philosophy and making sense of life. I find it extremely difficult to find others to communicate with on a deep, meaningful level. C Ewing
Thank you for this video. At 82 years of age I’m learning more each day about appreciating how God made me. As an aside: We introverts have many many gifts. And I loooove the rain! ❤
Wow. Every thing said was spot on. I went back in time to the 1960's and remembered my tree I would climb. There was a natural nook between two branches where I would sit, happy as all get out, alone in my tree. It was amazing how every example brought up a scenario in my memory where that was so true. I appreciate these and other you tube videos on introverts. They explain so much of my reactions and behavior over the decades, where previously I had no explanation.
i can relate to the "be in public places alone" one so much ... like i go to school at 8 am to be alone in a classroom even if i know that i wont have any stuff going on until 11 am, yet i am in there just enjoying solitude 😊
I'm a introvert through and through, I used to be made believe I was a weirdo, a reclusive loner, antisocial who can't socialize and had to be psychologically treated. This video has been utterly reassuring and validating, knowing there are many more people like me has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem , which I needed because I live surrounded by extroverts who won't accept my introversion and try to change it. Thank you very much for this video
I enjoy walking alone, i do things on my own without asking anyone., i dont want to bother other people and i dont want to be bother either. I dont want to be in the crowded places. I love being home alone, listening music, playing games, do cleaning, do the laundrey. i dont like parties, or any occasion, It makes me feel uncomfortable/ awkward. I prefer texting or chatting than calls. All of these are true for i am an introvert. Except for shopping online, and freelancer.
Along with long walks sometimes I like to get in the car and drive. Sometimes I go to familiar places but sometimes I like to just go where the road takes me.
I would have to say I agree with just about all of these. I don't get a lot of privacy at home but when I do have the house to myself, it feels like heaven. My favorite quiet spot is in my car.
Working from home has been my introvert heaven. For some reason i can talk quite happily over video calls or present something. But having to do that in person in a meeting room churns me up inside.
Though I thought of myself as an ambivert, turns out I do love to do most of these 11 things. It's reassuring to know that it's okay to be an introvert, though social contacts tend to make us feel 'abnormal' for just being who we are.
I'm an introvert who works at the front desk of a hotel. I enjoy the interaction with guests but when I come home, I need time to myself. It took many years for my husband (who is extroverted) to understand that I need time alone. So we compromised--when I get home from work, he gets my full attention for three hours. After that, I am left alone until the next evening when I return from work. And on my days off, I initiate the interaction between us after I've had the necessary time to myself. Thankfully, my husband has several friends that he can call to chat with when I don't feel up to talking with him.
This is a hit on every point. Especially the texting, having the house to yourself, and friends canceling plans because I never want to be the one that does it...
That's me! I tell ppl that my fone has an audio problem so I don't have to answer calls... I love biking and walking and working alone and try to Block unnecessary noises around with good music. Introverts are Not weird but most of the time misunderstood.
This is me. Sometimes My neighbor asked me are u okay of just staying ur home all day, u'r not getting bored? Why u not try to get out and join us? I simply replied: Home is my best space. I love quiet environment, with my cats I'm not alone. Though life is not just inside the box, we need to get out from our comfort zone to make a living, but as an introvert person I can manage it, I love the challenges and at the end of the day, home is my favorite place to recharge!
As an introvert myself, I like going to the store by myself. Browse the isles looking for the things I need to get. I like the sound of people talking and going about their way in the store. Just like being in the woods listening to birds.
Just about hit the nail on the head here. I do like in person shopping though. I can be that one friendly customer for the poor retail worker who's been dealing with Karens all day.
Exactly! I agree with everything on this list as I am an introvert. I like talking to people but I love quietness and solitude - it’s necessary for me to be able to exist.
I'm an introvert for sure now, an upgraded introvert learning how to be social. I don't just know how to do the small talk thing, always wants a meaningful conversation.. And I love going on long walks alone. This is so me. I used to call my self an ambivert but I still have my foundation as an introvert. God bless you for this video. Thanks. Getting to understand myself these days .
I just realized that even I don't realize it at times I felt at peace when people left after visiting me... And also there's one thing that you'd thought that's creepy about me.. I love walking around alone in the streets during the night, mostly around 10 pm going up to midnight... I just felt at peace when I'm alone
Nothing wrong with you at all. I am very similar in that. Only for me night time is for sleeping. Lol😂 There have been times, like you, I would get up, get dressed and just walked outside at 2 am. Weird but true. I just liked the peace and quiet. Here I live in NYC, but I live in a much more quieter area
I am a nightowl and sometimes at 2:00 or 3:00 am I will take a stroll. I enjoy the feel of the the peace and quiet of the night without the sound of cars wizzing by. Everything looks and feels more beautiful at night. I am enjoying the fireflies right now. Viva la introvert!
Yes to all these. I only recently learned that I'm an introvert, and I relate to all these. And while I'm glad the pandemic is over, I did not miss socializing when we were in quarantine.
I never really considered myself an introvert... But I am! I much prefer texting to calling, people are lovely in small doses, I love being alone - I send my kids to their grandparents every holiday (and I adore my children, but they're exhausting!), I love rain, I love reclaiming my time when plans are cancelled... It's 💯 accurate. Great job!
I am 100 % an introvert so this video pretty much sums me up in a nutshell and what's more, I enjoy doing and indulging in all of the above wherever and whenever I can. I like having the house to myself when I do and thus having the space in which to reflect both mentally and verbally with myself at my own pace, in my own time with no interruptions or distractions to work through any confusing thoughts and feelings which feels super satisfying in the long run as I find I can process them better as a result. I genuinely enjoy meaningful conversation with people who also understand the value of and prefer such a way to connect when compared to surface level, empty, boring conversation which bears no deeply emotional weight at all. It also makes for diving deeper, and deeper still into smart, empathetic, philosophical and even profoundly spiritual conversation all of which I find to be both super satisfying and beneficial in many more ways than one, especially when it results in an incredibly positive, emotional outcome. I often surprise even myself with what I have to say on some subjects like the many aspects of human nature, theology, art and more besides. And I always prefer shopping, including Christmas shopping, on my own as I can organize it all and put some real thought into what I buy for the people I'm buying for as an individual who will never apologize for needing as much me time as I can get to anyone. We all need it; in fact, I would go so far as to say that it's a bare necessity of human nature that everyone needs to make time for themselves including the busiest of business people, introvert and extrovert alike, it doesn't matter which. As a natural introvert myself, I would say it's people pleasers who go out of their way to be selfless saints for others all the time who may well pride themselves on being saintly a bit too much and never think that they should make any time for themselves who could do with taking a leaf out of the introvert's book. It's not selfish to please yourself because most of the time, that's actually what the people they're helping maybe too many times, like friends and family want the people pleaser in their lives to do for themselves instead as it can leave them feeling like they have no agency or self-reliability of their own. Making enough time for oneself makes it possible to make time for others. It's a wholly worthwhile and enjoyable, relaxing occupation and a good, healthy recipe for mental and emotional self-sustainability when doing perhaps too many things for others far too many times.
Wow this was very complex, extensive and entertaining to say the least; being that it resonated with most of my personality. Buy a problem I’ve been battling with lately that got me here (to this video) in the first place is: 1. Feeling like I’m wasting my life away while being alone over 90% of the time 2. I love to read but rarely rarely do because of wandering mind 3. I can’t stay on one conversation for a good amount of time: perhaps because it lacks my basic interest and people are not interested in discussing good idealistic discussions 4. Addiction 5. Lack of high level Enthusiasm for goals, love, partnership or anything at all 6. I don’t even know any more!! 😢🥹😭
Ha! Love the one about being happy when plans are cancelled! I've tried to explain that to friends, when planning a get-together seems problematic. "Hey, if that date works for the rest of you, but I can't make it? Don't worry! Go ahead and have dinner together! I won't mind! Really, I won't!" (I can't say, "I'd actually PREFER it that way," without seeming rude, but that's what I'm thinking.) You nailed this one!

You can’t “become” an introvert, you can think you are an extrovert, but then find out that you’re not.=)
@@CassieAngelica thats true!
I'm an introvert but I don't like being left out and I can be loud...but I like recharging my social battery and I HATE roommates...
This is all very accurate, especially the rain thing and the quiet place.
No, you don't have to explain those things if you don't want to. I never do.
I stopped caring what other people think anymore if I say no.!
Tell ppl u had a low key weekend & hung out with friends, most ppl won't question it. 😉
As an introvert this video is 100% accurate
C Ewing
Introverts are always mistaken for boring people, not true. We are just interested in different things and really love and appreciate our alone time.
My ex-husband, who was an extrovert, would tell me how boring I was. Well, he could be boring too!
Thank you for this video. At 82 years of age I’m learning more each day about appreciating how God made me. As an aside: We introverts have many many gifts. And I loooove the rain! ❤
@Brainy Dose, you deserve the gold play button for this one. Awesome video and describes me totally!!!
💛❤❤❤❤
Hahahaha give him one
I'm an introvert and these 11 things is so spot on 👏🏻
At least I now know that I'm not a weirdo person 😅
Thank you 🙏🏻
Only about 20% are introverts. So extroverts are the noisy ones and more prevalent. They NEED NOISE. We hate it.
@@littleme3597 Yep! I wish they knew it 😓
Yess..me and myself,
single..alone..empty..easy!!
Yes so true! very eye opening video!
So am I normal? 😅
So true. I love going for long walks alone. Who else
Me too. I hate running into someone I know walking towards me, then I have to talk for a hour.
I love taking walks by myself as well and I'll take that extra mile to walk where there's barely any people or any business going on so nobody sees me
i can relate to the "be in public places alone" one so much ... like i go to school at 8 am to be alone in a classroom even if i know that i wont have any stuff going on until 11 am, yet i am in there just enjoying solitude 😊
I honestly go to work a few hours earlier for the same reason.
@@gracealexandre3381bruhh I thought I was the only one who did that
I'm a introvert through and through, I used to be made believe I was a weirdo, a reclusive loner, antisocial who can't socialize and had to be psychologically treated.
Yesss...l did that too
Me too.
Indeed. 30 years remote.
Though I thought of myself as an ambivert, turns out I do love to do most of these 11 things. It's reassuring to know that it's okay to be an introvert, though social contacts tend to make us feel 'abnormal' for just being who we are.
Very very well said! Like you've just described me, every bit of my personality ☺️
Walking alone is my favorite thing as an introvert. I do it every day.
Thank you for this...I can relate to all of them and it's good to know that I am not alone x
Thanks Brainy Dose. I'm an introvert and have every single one of the traits you brought up. Great channel!
As an introvert I prefer to talk to someone I know in person. Yes I hate small talk but for me it’s more easy face to face
This was SO accurate!! I am definitely an introvert. The part about rain is right on and having conversations of substance.
Excellent, especially about loving when plans are cancelled! It doesn’t get better than that!!
My introvert daughter exclaimed during COVID19 lockdown...."we have to stay inside away from other people"..."How will we ever bear it!"
Great job!
Wish I had known about this growing up I always thought I was just weird everything you said is me all the way and I love it
I can relate to that, growing up I always got uncomfortable when too many people came to visit, and I only had like one friend at a time
I am 100 % an introvert so this video pretty much sums me up in a nutshell and what's more, I enjoy doing and indulging in all of the above wherever and whenever I can.
Buy a problem I’ve been battling with lately that got me here (to this video) in the first place is:
1. Feeling like I’m wasting my life away while being alone over 90% of the time
2. I love to read but rarely rarely do because of wandering mind
3. I can’t stay on one conversation for a good amount of time: perhaps because it lacks my basic interest and people are not interested in discussing good idealistic discussions
4. Addiction
5. Lack of high level Enthusiasm for goals, love, partnership or anything at all
6. I don’t even know any more!! 😢🥹😭
Yes, every single one applies to me! Now my extroverted husband needs to see this, lol. Thanks Brainy Dose!!
💛❤❤❤❤
Bruh. Almost all matched. Afterall, all these things are so relieving.
Incredibly accurate, well done.
Totally hit the mark with this video… I can relate with every one of these!
Wow, the rain is just spot on
Aahhhh!!! I absolutely love having the house to myself 🥰🥰I'm getting more ideas on what I'm missing out, thanks for teaching me about myself 😊 also love when plans are cancelled, love texting and refuse to talk on phone with certain people, this whole video is me!!!👍 outgoing Leo here and proud introvert!
Absolutely spot on!!! I NEED to be alone a lot even though I love my partner. Rain on a tent ... nothing nicer. I would rather be in the middle of New York alone than in my apartment with another person. This describes introverts so well.
Wow! 11 out of 11! I am happiest by myself. I never get bored. There is always something to enjoy. And, I. LOVE. RAIN!!!
Very accurate. I would add night owl.
Ditto!
There is one thing an introvert can be that an extrovert may never be able to…….they can be “at peace” 🙂
Sorry, the reality is , as someone who was an extrovert for decades ( I made time to be completely alone & I relished it ) . I was into yoga & meditation 40 yrs ago ( before it was "trendy" ) Now that I'm starting my 60's I'm glad I don't have to go to the office ( 300+ employees) even though I was very successful & popular . One isn't necessarily 100% Introvert or extrovert . I'm a 60/40 lady , and I realize now I have the best of BOTH world's. Namaste .
thats true!!
Nailed it!!
Yes, yes, yes! You understand me so well, Brainy Dose.
💛❤❤❤❤
This video is as spot on as can be.
Videos like this one encourage me to be myself. Thank you for sharing!
I am owned by 4 cats and a dog, they are my family and I am never alone or lonely.
Same. Once I welcomed a dog, I never felt lonely again. And they're better, more genuine company.
You Know You're an introvert when your parents make you go to your room, but it feels like a reward and not a punishment.
I am a proud introvert ❤
Great video, and spot on regarding my personality. Especially having the house to myself, doing my own projects (Lego 😃), and doing long walks (in my case run🏃🏾♂️ or ride🚴) on my own.
Absolutely true for this introvert! Love it!
Great, being happy when people shift dates and being happy when it rains such that you have a reason to stay home. All the points are totally me.I had no idea that this is typical for introverts!
You don't have to hope an event will be canceled. If it's not your thing, firmly, but politely decline. Never feel pressured to say yes.
Yes, agreed :-)
@@magnoliasegun4994 I never say yes unless I mean it.
😆sometimes i have to go to work, when they overstaff n send me home im excited,i know what they mean by that
This is what I’ve learned
Well when you're married ya gotta compromise... but my husband is worth it!
70+ yr old introvert who friends often think of as extrovert. I don’t know if something different comes out in personality at times or what.I never want to be the life of the party, be a leader, and I enjoy every single thing in your list, esp when plans get canceled at the last minute. Such a relief!
Mmmm rain… Lovely when being inside and listening to it. And thunder and lightning make it even better.
OMG. I thought I was the only one that liked it when it rained. Didn't know is was that much of a thing! Thank you!
So accurate and so true!
I love it when it’s raining and when wintertime comes around because I can stay in more often without seeming weird and the world is more peaceful and quiet. And I don’t get sweaty (like in summer) when I’m out for my long walks.
I am an Introvert and everything you said here about me is true.
They say we get better sleep when we sleep alone. I love being able to drool, fart and snore and not having to worry about another person being disgusted.
Wow! I realize that I'm an ambivert that leans introvert. Every single thing on this list describes me, however, there are a few friends I love associating with. But not everyone belongs in my orbit. People get on my nerves with foolishness.
