Of all the Avatar sets the 75574 Tree of Souls has the most potential. It has 4 unique minifigures of main characters, it is most visually appealing, it has a banshee build of Leonopteryx, and has Direhorse. No way you lose money if you picked this up at 55% off. Would be good to do a retirement checkup in 18 months when next movie releases.
It's definitely my favorite of the theme, visually speaking. I didn't see the movie and don't know anything of the lore, but based on the stats I'm seeing it's an oversupplied set with niche demand. I will certainly check back months or years after retirement!

Regarding the Flower Trellis GWP, if you had purchased the Lego D&D set that released on 4/1, you would've gotten the Trellis GWP and the Mimic Dice Box GWP. The Trellis will net you about $24 after fees, but the Mimic Dice Box is going for around $135 right now. Additionally, there was a redeemable code you could've used for the Micro Ninjago City set that will net you about $27. If you add all those up, it comes out to about $166ish. Factor in Rakuten and your Insider/VIP points, you could've gotten a pretty large discount on the D&D set which you would've then been able to turn around and sell for retail, making your original purchase back and picking up an additional $166.
Nice discount stacking! If you wanted the DnD set for personal build, this would be the way to go about picking it up. For investment though, I won't be buying the DnD anytime soon since it should have a healthy multi-year shelf life. Flipping new releases isn't part of my strategy. I'll be buying in late 2025 or 2026!
Honestly I think the Avatar Sets will do well especially as there is going to be 2 more movies. Increasing the fanbase and making people watch the older movies. LEGO will do more avatar sets in the future and Avatar movies have 1st and 3rd in most grossing movies. Defo a long term investment
I'd agree with you on the movies, but for the LEGO sets, there's no way around the supply/demand data. There's tons of supply of these sets and very low sales volume. I think these will remain below MSRP for years and years.
I also thought about that, thinking about the long term of the franchise, but for as big and cool the movies are, there is something about them that is no appealing enough for people to buy them. Not only in Lego but merchandise in general. I bought one out of curiosity and discount and don't feel like getting the others.

I picked up 3 of the Tree of Souls at the larger discount you showed. It's a pretty important part of the 1st movie and maybe will be for others. Before I bought it, I checked Ebay sold prices and they were all above the price i would be buying them at. Maybe prices went down after the sale because I was seeing higher sold prices than what you showed. Granted with fees and shipping, maybe I'd be breaking even or slightly losing, but it hasnt retired yet, so we'll see.
55% off would be the time to buy the Tree of Souls, definitely. I'll look again closer to the end of the year once it's a few months retired to see where prices are trending.
I get the impression that you keep your invest solely into battle packs. I think it would be too one sided for me. Avatar sets are not so bad. Just no real demand actually but I could see some demand in future (a bit like lego elves)
I do like Battle Packs for investing, especially clone ones. But in years past they've never been the sets I invest the most dollars into. Elves is an interesting theme, definitely. For Avatar, I'm skeptical. There's anemic demand now, so there better be a pretty good reason if demand is going to increase in the future.

I would avoid Avarta and Harry Potter personally. However, with new Avata films coming out you might be right.

I would love to pick up some AT-TEs on sale. Great set would probably keep 2-3 just for myself.
