I was raised and abused by malignant narcissists and tyrants. I never had enough of anything, unmet needs. I avoid talking about myself because of countless betryals nad people are not trustworthy and I am always suspicious of others, I really do not want or need to hear others people complain about their lives or problems. It is not healthy for me. I miss my Golden retrievers, but not the ones who scarred me for life. I got burned and learned the hard way.
father said at 0:50 we dont talk about our shortcomings and faults but what if a lot of these shortcomings are not our fault? For example I am addicted to alcohol but it is because I was raised in a very traumatic environment and felt abandoned by both parents constantly
At most a half truth. Narcissistic people also don't listen and when they congregate in groups they choose not what is true or worthy of listening to, but what will gratify themselves the most. So it's also possible that you aren't listened to or appreciated enough because you aren't. Remember, the multitude chose Barabbas, not Jesus. This makes it seem like anytime you feel unappreciated that it's just you being selfish. You shouldn't be doing things for self esteem, but being praised proportionately to what you do well isn't wrong. It's healthy and normal.
Yes , we do that so much.

Excellent painting, visual metaphor for narcissism
It's Narcissus in the painting.
