Excellent job on both dishes.. I'm from STL and know what STL Chinese food is about. I will definitely try your recipes out. To top these foods off you know us St. Louis and gotta have some canned or bottled Vess soda s.
Only Miracle whip. I’m from Da Lou!! You did a great job on both of these. I came in here because I’ve moved to Dallas and wanted some “chinamen” sooooo bad!!!
@@tierraalexander4726 @RhondaRoss there’s a spot in Arlington called ‘Golden Chopsticks’. The closest I’ve had to chinamen out here it’s actually really good and similar. No peas, no carrots lol. Bean sprouts green onion and egg!
Well I’m from Miami and we eat our fried rice pretty much the same way except we add a lil more seasoning to it oh and we also use duck sauce religiously or some like ( Me in particular ) love fried rice with gravy but only the chicken or beef or ham or pork
It’s most definitely Miracle Whip or Whipped salad dressing ( the cheap version of MW) . I really enjoyed the video and agree. Other cities cannot compare. Very good description ( deep fried omelette).
I will legit eat 3 Saint Paul sandwiches in one sitting. Your finished dish is 🔥. Asia Gourmet in downtown Saint Louis Missouri is my spot. I love me some them. 🕊️
Hey Cherry! Good job on the saint paul. I have been trying to perfect my recipe for a few years now. I got the seasonings perfect but I don't like to put too much oil. Mine always comes out flat and when you get a saint paul here in Saint Louis it's always got a little puffiness to it. My guests always like the sandwiches but they double up on the patties cause they are so flat. 😒
Thank you so much Cassandra! I would love it if you share how you like to season your St. Paul. So I can give it a try the next time I make this again. 😃
Thank you so much for this! Now I don't have to visit my ornery relatives in St. Louis just to get a St. Paul. If I can find recipes for Rallys, Steak n Shake, and White Castles, I'll really never visit them hoes again!🤣🤣.
Cherry J., My introduction to this sandwich was via PBS. They were doing a show on the best sandwiches in the US and there was a segment in St Louis about the St. Paul sandwich. Two guys went to a Chinese carry out and ordered it. It looked sooo good. The next time I get egg foo young I'm gonna make me a St. Paul sandwich! PS Your fried rice looks good too. Thanks!
Who knew that a St. Paul Sandwiches can only be found in Missouri Chinese restaurants. Mostly the St. Louis area. Around here(Houston) they put peas and carrots in their fried rice...🤢... I miss st. Louis so much...😢
Fried rice has changed, back in the 70-early 2000s it was more flavorful and more unhealthy, but it was tastier, today it’s hard to find the good fried rice.
Hi Joshua! I would say cook the rice for about 5 to 7 minutes. Since the rice is pre-cooked you really don't need to cook it that long. Also, I used about 1/4 cup of oil. But I would say start with a little cause because it really depends on how much rice you're cooking. Hope this helps! 😃
I lived in savanna for about a year and no one knew what the hell a st Paul was vess sodas red hot riplets no imos I was sick at they didn't have white Castles then just trash ass crystals 😤 😒 had to learn how to make em myself
As a stl native, great job!!
East St Louis Approves!!! 👍🏾❤👍🏾

Only Miracle whip. I’m from Da Lou!! You did a great job on both of these. I came in here because I’ve moved to Dallas and wanted some “chinamen” sooooo bad!!!

Exactly where in Miami is this rice. These are the things I need to know. 😂❤
From stl now in Denver thank you
It’s most definitely Miracle Whip or Whipped salad dressing ( the cheap version of MW) . I really enjoyed the video and agree. Other cities cannot compare. Very good description ( deep fried omelette).
Thank you so much!!! St. Louis has so many amazing things to offer!
my mom would make egg foo young for dinner and any left over she would make sandwiches. i grew up in minneapolis so it was a minneapolis sandwich!😛😛
I am from St. Louis. But I have heard the orgin of the St. Paul sandwich and Minnesota🌹
From Phoenix AZ. I miss st.pauls so much. 😢 . Will definitely make this when I get a chance🤣👊
It's definitely Miracle Whip, Also Chicago fried rice is the BOMB as well.
I'm from Chicago and our race is dark like thar as well, but as far as the st. Paul we don't do it but I for sure will try it.
Amazing job, the only thing I do different with my rice is use oyster sauce instead of dark soy sauce( i promise it will make you think of home)
FYI If you’re in ATL and want STL rice, Taste8 moved to ATL from the Lou. They even have the Vess soda. Lol
You did so good. I been missing some "chinamen" 😂 Houston just aint got it smh! The recipe was on point
I will legit eat 3 Saint Paul sandwiches in one sitting. Your finished dish is 🔥. Asia Gourmet in downtown Saint Louis Missouri is my spot. I love me some them. 🕊️
Thank you!! Im going to try them out!
I just told my cousins I can eat bout 4 of them.

Yes!! You can fry anything these days. lol
That St Paul looks 🔥🔥🔥

Yeah, I thought it was a big deal too! You're city is famous for a cool sandwich!!
Who knew that a St. Paul Sandwiches can only be found in Missouri Chinese restaurants. Mostly the St. Louis area. Around here(Houston) they put peas and carrots in their fried rice...🤢... I miss st. Louis so much...😢
Peas and Carrots 😂
Couple of drops of sesame oil to the mixture Lil cornstarch, 12 teaspoon of soy sauce
You did great Cherry! The dressing also could be Kewpie Mayo (Asian Mayo), but I've always used miracle whip
Fried rice has changed, back in the 70-early 2000s it was more flavorful and more unhealthy, but it was tastier, today it’s hard to find the good fried rice.
