  • The Tudor Pelagos is the most comfortable watch that I own and it gets more wrist time than any other piece. I love it. As you see in the video, this is well worn and loved.

Love this watch and not enough is said about it in comparison to the other Tudor watches. It is architecturally stunning and I can't take my eyes off of the watch when driving and the sun touches it. Absolutely awesome watch!

Have mine in blue and agree with everything you said. I have a 16 CM wrist and wears great. Constantly go after the watch nerds that yell for Tudor to make it smaller and I'm steel. To me it's perfect just the way it is. I call it my bug out watch. If the shit hits the fan it's the Pelagos I want on my wrist.

You captured everything I love about my LHD, it gets more wrist time than my Submariner for good reason. This watch is as close to perfection for a dive watch as I could ask, 1-2mm thinner it would be the only thing I might change. This is the best review of the LHD out there, you hit every important detail.

Nice review. I tried one on today and am now thinking it would make a stylish addition to my collection. It’s so light which makes a change from steel divers. And the vintage looking colour of the off-white looks retro charming. Reminds me of the James Bond Seamaster but better. And the left side crown is pleasantly quirky.

Lovely review. The Pelagos LHD is my favourite Tudor, combining technical excellence with classic good looks. The aged lume hits the right notes, while the depth rating is incredible. It’s thick but not too thick, and I wear mine on a Crafter Blue rubber strap in grey, which gives it a bit of under-the-radar appeal while making it very wearable and comfortable.

It's a great watch, it has some cues from the old Tudor models (especially with the indices) but still has some modernity. They did not go overboard with the patina, it's clearly modern and a tool watch. I could not quite bring myself to love the heritage black bay 39. As someone who also wears a watch on my right hand (even though I am right handed), it seemed like the perfect choice.

Hi Esbjorn, thanks for your informative and Scandi-cool review. The only other time I came across your name was a Swedish pianist, Esbjorn Svensson, so I assume your origins are Scandinavian. I have been thinking about a new watch for a while and The Tudor Pelagos, was high on my list. My explorations so far, have all been on line, but I am now at the point when I am about to hit the shops. The fact that the review is by an enthusiast, rather than a watch professional, was just what I was looking for. I have looked at many on-line reviews and yours I think has been the most helpful. I will go out and try one, my major concern is that my left hand and wrist are smaller than my right. Unlike you, I have never been comfortable wearing my watch on my right wrist, I just hope The Pelagos, doesn't overpower my smaller wrist, we will see. Thanks once again for your balanced and quiet review, it was a pleasure to listen to.

Thanks so much Mark, that would have to be some of the nicest feedback I’ve received and definitely inspires me to keep going. I’m aware of my jazzy namesake and we hail from the same country, despite the name being very unusual even there. I would ask the retailers to put it on the included rubber strap for you, and perhaps even try a textile option. I think that may “de-bulk” the overall package. That said, much like many Tudor and Rolex watches, there is some magic on the wrist where they seem to just settle on wrist. Thanks once again for your kind words, means a lot 🙂

@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews, thanks for your kind and speedy reply and the good advice contained therein. Everything you say makes perfect sense and as a last resort, I may well have to try that. I have worn steel strap watches for over fifty years and would like to continue that trend. Just to prove I was paying attention, I know in this case we are talking titanium, rather than stainless steel. If it proves to be too large, I will try the alternate strap and if it still doesn't work, or the magic doesn't kick in, maybe a Black Bay GMT., or something of a lesser stature. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated, best wishes for the future and stay safe.

I have owned my LHD for one year now and I still get a thrill and a sense of pride every time it's on my wrist.
In my opinion it is indeed a beautifully well made watch and I cannot wear it, without having to turn the Bezel fully several times to try and hear the difference in sound and feel, of the 60th click.
I have a 19cm wrist and the watch sits perfectly there.
Its presence is understated, but undeniably classy.

I read the same things before buying. I’ve had mine snorkelling, hiking, desk diving and no issues what so ever. Perhaps it was an issue on the early eta movement models, or as people do their due diligence in researching, a disproportionate amount of us ended up reading about perhaps only a few incidents of this? Not sure but mine is solid as a rock 👍

A nice review on the Pelagos. I just got a Pelagos LHD myself and notice the bezel seems to have a bit of play when you press down on it from the top and you feel a spring effect which "bounce" the bezel back up when I release. Its that normal? Cos the bezel turns with a different feel and sound when I press down on the bezel insert and turn vs gripping the coin edge to turn.

The roulette date wheel is interesting. I wonder what tudor would say about it? there is some sort of reason or is it just a different way to have color on the dial at different times? I have had dive watches that do that for Sunday but the roulette thing is new to me.

@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews Thank you so much! 👊🏼 I'm very interested in this amazing timepiece, but I'm a bit skeptical about the rather small diameter of 42 mm, as I have a rather large wrist with 20.5 cm. 🤔🙈

@@goedoensundso ah gotcha, yeah I’m quite tall and solid so I hear you. On my adult son it looks too big, on mine just right. I think it’ll be ok but perhaps try one on if you can. Perhaps a non fitted strap/bracelet will make it look larger?

Good video. Do you find it an accurate time keeper and how hard wearing in the titanium? I had another titanium watch and it was very soft and easy to dent.

    • @EsbjornWristwatchReviews

Accuracy is very very good, it does scratch like titanium does. The video reflects every day usage well I think, condition wise 😊👍

I have a Black Bay Chrono and it’s astonishingly accurate. It gains apparently 4 seconds per week. My other watches are lucky to get that per day.

@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews Are you sure? In theory grade 5 titanium has double the hardness of SS and as such it is doubly difficult o scratch. Even grade 2 Ti (which I think this watch uses) is as scratch resistant as SS, perhaps a bit more even.
