I came because of a search for a simple but useful screw box storage system and I already have some french cleats up in the garage. I stayed because of the cranial! (20 year retired Navy Master at Arms... served on the Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) among other sea commands.)
Outstanding, and thank you for your service! My father flew Skyraiders and Corsairs from Intrepid, Enterprise, and Constellation and served as Weapons Officer on the old Roosevelt. I used his flight deck helmet when I was a kid and still use them today in the shop. No better noise protection!
Quality...and witty as always. Simple but amazingly effective. As Adam Savage says " the first order of retrievability"... no looking in drawers or moving stuff to find what you need.
Thank you for the build. I was well on my way to completing it when my table saw died, Had to finish it with my hand saw :( but hey, it looks great, even though I had to sand down the few bits that weren't square!
Glad you like it! We've been wanting to get these screw boxes out of the drawer for awhile now and are already loving this new holder. Definitely a worthwhile project!
Love your work, best on YT !!! You give me great ideas and a much needed laugh while i go about my own days of inventiveness and creativity. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you, Glen, South Australia.
Glad you like our stuff and our ideas! We'll keep making more stuff, because we've got this woodshop now and the neighbors would stare if we didn't use it...
My dad flew. VA-65 and VA-27, among others. I've been on FD Roosevelt, Forrestal, Constellation, and Enterprise. He was on Intrepid before I was born and I plan to visit that one in the future so I will have been on board all of the carriers he served on. The green helmet is VA-27/Constellation from the late 60s. The other two are Ebay because we didn't want to mess up the original helmet. They are fantastic in the shop, especially now that we've upgraded them to Bluetooth sound.
Well that's pretty cool thanks for the info it looks like your dad was in a few squadrons I was ship's company meaning wherever the ship went I went after the cruise your dad could leave and go back to his naval air station but that was a great story thank you

Thanks! Another idea for my shop.
Definitely build one!
Great idea! Love the french cleat wall. Thinking that may be handy in the bathroom closet!

"just a table saw..." Exactly why I can't afford :V
Sorry, but I had to cut the wood somehow.
Where did you relocate your earing protection from?
It's a Navy flight deck helmet. It is very, very good hearing protection!
I know what it is, I'm Ret. Navy, aviation election. What boat did you relocate from?

Yes, drawers are annoying. That’s why all my clothes are on the floor.😠
