Quick update; the MOT place we use has said we will need separate fog lights to use the LED units. It’s due to the need to have the fog light 10cm from the side light. So we will be fitting the old ones for the MOT and then adding these back in the future with a new fog light on our bumper bar. Just wanted to share.
Thank you. It was a right state but in some ways satisfying to get it all cleaned up and removed. Thanks for commenting and for watching too. Have a great week. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
It was a right old nest in there! I’m not sure how the old lights even still functioned to be honest 😆. Thanks so much for your kind words. We are pleased with it. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
Looking lovely guys, it really is coming together. I bet it’s so nice seeing all the freshly painted and new items going on. Lights look fab and the dash is like new. Well done 😍😎👍🏻
Thanks Ian. It’s been great getting the parts back on. We’ve a few more to bolt back on here and there. Sort of ‘clearing the decks’ and making it look like a bus again. Hope you’re doing well and your van is all good too. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
@@WanderbusAdventures yeah ours is all sorted now thanks. Had a fab weekend away, just got to get the awning back out in the sun today as it chucked down as we were packing it away 🤬🤬🤬😂😂😂
Ah that sounds good. Apart from the awning. That’s always the way. We’ve had a few occasions where we’ve had the tent out drying in the garden because of this. It’s like the rain knows 😂
As always guys another fantastic instalment your work is so methodical, wish I was more like you cannot wait for the next instalment hope that you enjoyed the grandparents trip and stay safe out there guys?
Thank you so much. We were worried this one was a bit boring but wanted to show the whole picture. Grandparents trip was ace - we were stuffed. Hope you’re doing grand. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
Thank you. It was a bit of a head-scratcher, but we got there. We’ve got a little issue with the reversing relay that I need to sort - but that’s an inherited issue. Not guilty - honest 😂. Thanks very much for watching and for your support. Hope you’re well 🚐🚐🚐
Oh wow that's a mega car. I know a couple of the mighty Mini guys but haven't been to a race meet in a while. Am hoping to get out and about more. Bet it's a lot of fun. Thanks a lot for your kind words too - we are stoked you watch us get up to the shenanigans we do!
Ah brilliant. Any tips and support would be welcome. I hope your build went well. Thanks so much for subbing and your comment. Brilliant stuff. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 On the wiring, clearing up the rat's nest on the rear light's, have you thought of changing the upper secondary rear lights to LED, I think that you can get a bulb replacement LED bulb so a plug and play type deal. The bus is looking good, plus the mini's too.
That’s a good idea. It’ll Probably make sense to do some upgrades around the bus as the old ones blow sort of thing. Great shout that. Thank you. Thanks so much for watching. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
G'day that was some feat working out the wiring Rich good job and the back tail lights really set it off, it's shaping up to looking like a very nice motor home. That mini is terrific I love minis they were a great car and the one you have I would love to own, are you going to tow it behind the bus? Kelly and Milly all the work you put into the dashboard pieces was well worth it, looks great. I really enjoy this instalment your getting very close to doing the inside which I'm looking forward to anyway great to see you all again take care and kind regards John.
In an ideal world we will Be towing the mini - we are hoping to build a decent tow car for it. Every week we are getting closer and closer. Thanks for sticking with us😊. Hope you’re keeping well. We are planning today. Hopefully can share this update next time.
good news the mini passing the mot . and great work withe the rats nest of wiring . my OCD would have done the same things have got to be tidy . take care
I enjoyed the OCD curing cable labels! I take it you are an electrician?, very cool and congrats on the Mini MOT! The only one suggestion I would make is on the video white captions while wearing a white Tshirt or pointing at sky would perhaps be better in a darker colour?
The labels are so good. I wanted to test it out before I get onto the 12v install and the aftermarket labels worked well. Sadly I am not an electrician, just a UA-cam/internet taught. I used a multimeter to work out the wiring etc. I can show that in a future vid. That’s a great tip re the titles. I tend to overuse them I think. At the moment I’m editing on my phone but we are going to invest in a new laptop which should make things a bit easier (I hope haha). Tips like these are really helpful. Appreciated 😊.
Hi, thanks for the very helpful videos we always enjoy watching you guys. We have a question. In this video you mention the rear bumpers. Do you now where we can buy this left and rigt bumper? My wife and me just started converting a Variod 711d old School bus from Greece. It's almost same then yours, except the side doors. Many, many thanks for this videos!!
Hey. Sounds like an amazing project. We got ours on one of the Facebook Vario groups - they come up from time to time. I do know that Mercedes still sell them. Do you have any commercial dealerships in Greece? If not I wonder if they’d ship from the UK. We use a dealership named Rygor, who are excellent. What are you plans for the build?
Hi Bill. Thank you. We were pleased with the mini result. Nice drive out in it too. We both work on web based stuff - Rich used to teach, so this is a bit of a learning curve in terms of van build. The spaghetti wiring was a head scratcher as it was connector over connector. Presumably due to prangs and dings over time. Mad that it was still working to be honest 😊. Take care.
Just found your channel. Liked and subbed. Loved this video. I will watch your earlier videos so as to not ask you too many questions but can you tell me a) how much did the vehicle cost? b) how much is the insurance for you ? and lastly c) what is the MPG? Thanks guys.
Welcome along and thanks for subbing. The bus cost us £4K and it’s currently insured for SORN conversion so we have to update it periodically. It wasn’t too dear for this but would envisage the end quotes to be higher. I’ll get an updated quote and get back to you. Thanks for watching. Take care 🚐🚐🚐
Hey there. I’ll try and get a photo for you and post later. One thing to point out is I do need a separate fog light to make these MOT compliant, according to my tester. I’ll take a look and get back to you Ray.
Hey Ray. I’ve had a look and back at my videos/photos and can’t easily see without really pulling it all out again. Do you have a photo of the original wiring going into the Lucas lights? I have one of that. I’ve googled it and looked on the Facebook groups for a diagram but can’t find it. But am happy to help if you’ve any info on the colour cables you have.
I've noticed your sound is up and down again which is not helped by the fact when you are concentrating on doing a job your voice is much much quieter and it just comes across as a mumble. My hearing is perfect but my sight is bad ,I am registered blind but luckily not totally blind so not being able to hear what your saying is a bit of a bind. When you are getting you video ready to air you will have no trouble hearing what you said because it's your voice or your partners voice ,I dont know who does the editing so could you just please remember speak up a bit when doing a job or at least say what it is you are going to do before you do it please. I love watching your progress but the sound is getting worse again.Cheers
Hey Frank. This is great feedback. The whole thing at the moment is filmed and edited on a mobile phone as our laptop is a bit old. We do try and level the sound but it’s very imperfect on the mobile; thankfully we have been saving for a new laptop and it should be here this month with will hopefully make it easier to level the sound a bit. Hopefully you’ll notice a difference in a couple of videos; in the meantime will try and work on the sound manually. Thanks very much for watching and for your feedback. Take care 🚐🚐🚐

Is there anyway of putting insulation on the inside of the engine cowl
Hey Neil. You can get closed cell foam designed for inside bonnets. We will likely do this to cut down on noise.
