      I have one, you'll love it. Biggest issue though is the tires. Widemaxx will help but look up a video of the Trencher LP's mounted. It barely rolls on pavement. Stock tires are just too soft and squishy. That'll be my next purchase. I bet I won't need the Widemaxx after that. Also I'll be putting thicker shock oil and higher speed pinion/ spur. Hopefully that lowers the wheelies lol

      I run stock tires 70/60 weight oil, lotsa preload, tires slide and truck doesn’t roll, gotta stay on the power. Trenchers are awesome but cvd upgrade is a must as opposed to recommended. You will also may need to get aluminum castor blocks or the weight of the trenchers will break those. I like oem traxxxas tires! Super easy on drivetrain. But when kaiju tires come back in I am buying two sets one for the kaiju and one for max, they are really light! And at 35 a set how could you go wrong?

      Just commenting because you said that you were going to the hobby store... I had no idea how lucky I was when I started messing with RC cars. I had ordered one online and then realized I didn't really know enough about it to just order one and expect to be able to run so I googled a hobby shop and RC madness in Enfield Connecticut was like 5 minutes from my house. They've got like six or seven different tracks and have tournaments almost like every weekend.

    I like them both, more. Had to go maxx first, but they will. All. Be. Mine.
    The hoss is actually a fairly expensive truck, That can do tricks other trucks can’t.
    If you’re good at repairing 1/10 scale traxxas i believe it would be a good truck to own.
    If you hate working on your trucks, all the 3s traxxas can be problematic. All of the components on those trucks are highly stressed on 3 cell. Running 2s Is an option, But I have heard the hoss is plain slow on 2 cell.
    You mentioned stampede in this review, it should be mentioned the old fathful vxl stampede 4 breaks rarely on 2s and is still pretty quick and fun. At 400 new, the value is a little dubious, however.
    In conclusion they both need upgrades, Neither is cheap. Hoss is more capable in air and general tricking, and faster off the line. You will be working on Hoss often. Maxx is more capable overall, More durable and more expensive. Less maintenance required, overall.
    I have a ruster 4 here, do not own Hoss yet. Rustler has experienced typical failures, Shock caps, rod end failure, Incorrectly meshed from the factory, But the driveshafts have held up pretty well-Truck actually belongs to my son and he loves it.
    Overall it’s just an evolution of the/design not a full redesign. The wider diameter Shafts are much better, So much so that they feel comfortable putting the hoss monster tires on there

  • @AntChiulli-Chiulli_RS
    @AntChiulli-Chiulli_RS Рік тому

    i threw a VXL-4s in my 3903 emaxx i think it was. the dual brushed setup originally, i just got it running recently but the potential this thing has is crazy, i love it even more because this is my favorite truck traxxas has ever made, sad to see no real Emaxx 2.0 refresh or just not yet.
    ps i have only ran 3s with a 17T pinion i think with the stock 68T spur, kept up with my brothers maxx, just less torque. i thought maybe i need to lower pinion teeth but i also realized it could be the clutch is slipping to much. i’m gonna investigate but i will never stop bashing the E-Maxx!

    You triggered my PTSD lol. I had a pinion your fall off when I was a lap ahead of everybody when I was 14 at the state championships for two wheel drive stock truck in Alaska. Literally a lap ahead of everybody and the only get about seven laps in a 4-minute race back then on this big track and my pinion your falls off with a minute left. I won the next year but that will never leave my mind as far as losing goes. At later competitions I actually soldered my pinion gear to the motor shaft. I won the next year's I competed but I would never take that chance again!! To a 14-year-old little nerdy fat kid that crushed my world. Oh well four years later I won my high school bodybuilding show because I wasn't a fat kid anymore after I lost 100 lb and started lifting weights. RC cars kind of went by the wayside when I discovered girls well at least when they would talk back to me anyway LOL.

    About 10 years ago I got into rc pretty hardcore.
    Started with the 3.3 revo got the pico motor then went brushless with the new erevo brushless and that truck was amazing. Got the vxl rustler and a 1/16 erevo and the 1/16 summit. I spent a couple grand easy all from one hobby shop. I spent so much time in there learning the hobby and thought the owners were pretty cool. One day maxing our the erevo I hit a metal trash can busted the truck up and sent it in for repairs. I left the truck there for the winter and messed around a bit with my other rcs and 2-3 months later went to get my baby my erevo which I prob had 1500 into total and those scumbags sold my truck on me. I said you never called me. They said they thought I was never coming back after a month and they have a policy that I was unaware of about cars left there that they could be sold. I said you never called me once I’ve spent 5 k with you guys and all my friend who come here now because of me and you thought it was ok to sell my truck without a damm call. Anyone never went back to that shop ever again. I miss my baby and think it’s time for the 2.0

      I have a brushless granite 4x4 and it's one of the toughest bashers I've ever had in the 18 years I've been in the hobby. I beat the snot out of it, running only 3s and the biggest issue has been screws coming loose from lack of loctite and/or just being loose from the factory. After re-torquing everything and applying loctite where needed, it has been solid. I've done over a dozen brutal bash sessions in a row with no drama or breaks, other than the mangled body shell. Double backflips and massive jumps are not a problem for that thing. I've been very impressed with the durability, especially for how cheap it is. It is built cheaply, but with great engineering and surprisingly decent electronics. I also love how easy they are to work on.
      I like the brushless granite 4x4 so much, I bought one for my brother, too. When we were teenagers, he had the worst luck and experiences with his rc cars and abandoned the hobby. More than a decade later, he's back in the hobby and having a blast with his granite.
