Thanks for the update. Don’t forget that those patrol boats also serve in the very important role of TARGETS.
Thanks, Sucho.

And thank YOU, MTG... You idiot!
New insult among Russian helicopter pilots: "You couldn't hit a marine drone if you landed on it."
the Brits and the United States are insulted by illegal immigrants who cross the borders by the hundreds and carry weapons and drugs on drones, well, you're a fool and you won't find out about it once 🤣
They did hit
I think you are missing my point...
Shhh! Don’t give them ideas. The Ruskies will turn their helicopters into submarines.
@@thePronto your "original" thought is just another clown pun in the style of Zelensky.
Seems like helicopters always end up in a tail chase with these things, might make more sense to have the anti-aircraft missiles aimed toward the rear. If this missile had been pointing the other way, that video may have never been recovered.
Anti aircraft missiles need a stable base to get off the ground, or a bigger more complex missile system.,
An autocannon would be more effective for a quick burst but again, it would quickly capsize the boat.
@@olivere5497MANPADS don't
I think it's within the missile's minimum range. That's why the drone doesn't just turn around to attack the helicopter.
Remindes me of a vid from russian rpg shooter ... launching his grenade on a SAM - BUK carrier from 70m distance ... and hit the missiles .

I've been saying for a long time that Mixed Drone Units were coming. Air-Defence Missile Drones/Land Attack Missile-Drones, CIWS/Gun Drones, Torpedo-Drones (this one's particularly wicked ...a Kamikaze Carrier Drone carrying a couple of Torpedo-Drones). The Missile Drone Boat/Torpedo Drone Boat next step is to internalise Missile Bays/Torpedo Bays.
@@KevinWarburton-tv2iy Good points. Here's my own, which I tried to put up as a standalone comment four times and it lasted zero seconds each time (a few hours ago):
"When engineers Capt. Mcgyverchuk and Maj. Mcgyverenko fit these drones out with diving capability - and no doubt it will be fairly soon - it's all over for the Russian navy."

I can see Ukrainians sucking optimism out of their fingers. Do better, your country will soon be off the map. You dreamed of the collapse of Russia, you collapsed your own country, oops, what irony
Muscovite channels reported that one Su-34 was shot down over Crimea the same day as the ship was sunk, perhaps by this exactly R-73 air-to-air missile mounted on Magura V5.

Another sub for Vlad the Imp Jailer's Slavey Navy!
while ukraine has no navy anymore, they swiflty went over to russia in 2014 and 2022. also, the british and german navies would love to have as much ships and tech as the russians do. look at the red sea, where they get spanked constantly.
also, the new russian subs are stoking panic in western navies. and so do the chinese ones. do you know all that - therefore the amount of copium? or what?
Mount missiles facing opposing directions that way drone only has to turn 90, if that, degrees to acquire a target.

So if you put a stinger on a drone you can kill a helicopter!

ah, i have been waiting for this one. Do you also have any information about the shot down Su34?
I can only imagine what the rotors of the helicopters would feel if those marine drones explode with the helicopters that close. Surely the shockwave would proceed a rapid unscheduled dissasembly of the rotor...
Not necessarily. I’m a former rotary wing aviator for the US Army. The rotor blades can take A LOT OF ABUSE, from most conditions and still be flyable. Maybe not the normal harmony of flight conditions, but definitely enough to get you back to safe ground.
Unless, of course, you’ve lost portions or even a single portion of one rotor, then things get lots more complicated and difficult to land. Or for that matter, to ditch in the water without major injuries to the pilots and crew and definitely the destruction of the aircraft.
Look up the 9B5 training simulator at Norfolk Naval Air Base. I survived that training, but only just by a slim margin. Out of my Air Cavalry unit that went for the qualification, only 4 of us out of 45 pilots successfully completed the course.
As a side note, the 9B5 is a training simulator in a large indoor pool with Navy divers as instructors and safety men. They’ll let you half drown before helping you. The objective is to learn how to survive, not just get a piece of paper to put on your glory wall.
🤔
Shockwave not so much, but the shrapnel from explosion (and SAM missile) is actual threat if chopper get too close. To me that looks like drone is trying to launch the missile but it malfunctions. Maybe. Can't really see from this if the drone even detonated or if missile actually launched.
Tks.
Cda.
That's quite a boat !!
When you absolutely, positively, HAVE to be there, or get away from there, REAL SOON.
Kind of odd though, the Russians would write "Coast Guard" on it.
Who are they trying to talk to?
Seems like an aft-directed Piorun and upward looking camera could help the drone with its chopper problem.
Thank you good sir
Great idea with the SAM / AAM, however I would strongly suspect that those missiles cannot function in that kind of environment where they are definitely getting inundated with salty sea water. They may need to cover the rear of the missile with a thin but waterproof plastic membrane to keep water out (like Saran wrap, or even a plastic garbage bag). When launched it will just blow that away.
Pretty boat!
Next week's drone variation: one of the missiles will point backward so that it can take out a chasing helicopter. Or maybe mount a backward-pointing manpad.
MUGA let’s buy them hat’s Suchominius, great fundraiser.
Thanks for your great videos. 🇦🇺👴🏻
EVERYONE!!!! Remember when those Russian Jets were shot down over the Azov Sea or black sea a few months ago? Perhaps this is how they were shot down? Using drones to sea launch converted Air to Air Missiles like the R73. I say this because I remember nobody knew for sure how those Russian jets were being shot down. Oh yes, there were some Russian AWACS shot down too. This makes far more sense than moving a whole patriot system to the front for a few shots then quickly moving it away again.
It seems like there were 2 missiles and one of them was used, so maybe the drone got in a scuffle with an Alligator, didn't hit it, and ended up being wrecked by the heli.
Hey, look at that. They mounted missiles like I was wondering about a few months ago.
very interesting
I had no idea they were fielding missiles in their new navy, amazing.

ive never seen an AA missile on a small boat like this before. On aircraft, missiles are usually mounted on a launcher and the launcher is attached to a pylon or other hardpoint. The launcher contains essential stuff like a nitrogen bottle to keep the seeker head cool. Maybe they have that kind of support tech on the little boat? or maybe they intend to shoot the missile point blank?
Are you sure that "one has been launched"? It kind of looks like there is one surface-to-air/surface missile, and one torpedo..
In the video I saw of the drone with rockets they briefly showed it with two rockets one supposedly was launched at the helicopter but missed whether it's true or not I can't say cuz they cut out where the missile launched
Is that from the same incident....its broad daylight when the junkcopter engages the drone. The attack on the orcs boat was night time
The last frames of the drone seem like the second missile firing, not just an explosion. Maybe the drone stopped and then fired the missile because it got a lock on some air target, and all this time the helicopter is filming it but unable to get a solid hit on it to destroy it.
😂😂😂😂😂🇺🇦👍
All the better for fisheries protection now.
Цікаво, що в цей самий день був збитий Су 34, можливо це пошуковий гелікоптер, котрий висунувся на пошук пілотів і побачив дрон. Росіяни кажуть, що обидва пілоти загинули, літак Су 34 з номером "21".
May I venture to ask if there are also some decoys to draw off ruzzy defenses? Such a drone would definitly draw some attention.
they need to have a few aerial drones
You misidentified the target. The boat is a "Lider-12" search and rescue boat by "Rybinsk shipyard". Just compare the photos, its obvious.
Drones would have cost more than the boat. It all adds up though.
I wouldn't think even orcs would locate large ships (read important targets 🎯) any closer to Ukraine's coastline than they can help now, so not surprising this was a smaller vessel 🤔
Wonder what the capabilities of that sea drone mounted missile/rocket are if an orc helicopter is that close ? Perhaps unguided, though does look like it'd be guided 🤔
It's node to imagine some orc helicopter eating a missile before we saw the video.
I've been expecting anti-air naval drones for some time now. These would solidify Ukraine's hold on the Black Sea. Also, the concept would be extremely useful for Taiwan in defense against China in the Taiwan Straight. High flying Chinese planes would have to deal with Patriot batteries and low flying planes would have to deal with these.
Looks like a SWCC Mark V
Are you 100% sure that's the correct identification for the type of boat hit by the drone? The one in the drone footage video looks absolutely nothing like a Mangust. It's much shorter, has a completely different pulpit (guard rail) configuration, and has a discernible step down in the hull.
The ship looks like a repurposed yacht! 🇺🇦🇬🇧
Sucho? From Poland... I hope that you will read my comment below because it is directly what we deal with here, that it a YT block.
Is debris from hitting that building?
Russia shot down the boat with the SAM missile because the stupid boat couldn't firing behind it. The Irony.
Oh well.
The displacement is wrong your decimal point is in the wrong place.
nice 15 year old Raymarine radar on that
And now reef duty
I no not think that the drone shown in this video has anything to do with recent strike. It is in open water and the clip was shot in daylight. Such attacks are usually carried out at night.
The "missile" does not appear to be a R-73. The body is too fat and the configuration of the forward fins is wrong. Usually air to air missiles require a booster when operated from the surface. The R-73 is a rail launched missile so might be able to launch without a booster. It has an IR seeker and a 40 degree off boresight capability. The seeker-head is cooled by Nitrogen gas, which is supplied from a bottle in the launcher. Initially the missile is powered by the launcher and the seeker-head starts to cool-down when the missile is selected and enters a standby mode. It requires a lock, before it can be launched. It weighs 100 kg and is 3m long. Two such missiles fitted to a drone would make the vessel top-heavy and unstable.
IMHO: I think that the video is faked.
MUGA
By your MUGA hats at St Javelin
Lol, if it's interesting, the Russians will copy their version and send it somewhere or near Odessa. But it's funny to use an R73 mounted version, it's been a long time since I've seen Ukrainians use them.
These boats are clearly used for reconnaissance by the Russian navy.
Mmmm Burton Ale
1:17 Looks like the drone could need a Insta360 cam and a little anti air missle on a 360° (bigger) RC servo. I guess the orcs and their chopper would look a bit puzzled then. 😂
A burton David’s locker etc 😹
Wow the Ka-29 is shit, missmissmiss...
too bad it wasn't a landing craft I don't even think it was this thing looks smaller the railings are different when you see the video all the way in to kablooey! whgat ever it was at least it's going to bother the russian rabble knowing they cant protect any of their ships or boats either at sea or moored.. side note cool to see the drones have been armed with anti air missiles. Now maybe we'll see brimstones added to some they use them from small fast boats seems like they would be good on drones they wouldn't need to sneak closer to the western coast of crimea to get a hit but they could hit a different area further out might even be a good hit somewhere that would also be a distraction for the drones to get in close
Don't just copy the Daily Mail, it's not a KA-52.
