    I live in Wales and have stinging nettle growing everywhere in my yard. Like you I am very sensitive to the stings and it will last a couple days with me...however since I am from the US I did not know this. I also have a plant called drydock growing in our yard. I was shown by a Welshman how to use drydock leaves to stop the stinging sensation from nettle. Just mash the leaf in your fingers and rub it on the sting and very quickly the sting goes away. I will say it most certainly does work as I have been stung more then once picking a tomato or something else in my garden and not paying attention. I hope that information helps... enjoy and thanks for the recipes.

    Used to harvest a wild nettle patch every spring but then I moved. Now I have some growing on the windowsill destined for a planter next season.

    I have 2 acres of stinging nettle LOL. Guess I better stop mowing them down and start using them. Love your videos, I’m learning so much! Oceanside, Ca.

    April 13 2021 Near columbia SC I had 1 2' tall plant with maybe 20 stems full of green leaves but no flowers. I saw it grow over the last month actually and it grew in full sun. I decided to harvest it and wash it in apple cider vinegar as well as put acv on the rest of the plant due to the powdery mildew it had on some of its lower leaves.

    I always enjoy boiling the nettle leaves to make nettle tea and extra green veg for dinner. I made a video on how I did this nearly 3 years ago, always a nice reminder of spring :) Thank you for sharing.

    How long should you steep the rhizomes to make the tea?

    • @wendiland
      @wendiland  2 роки тому

      Until the tea has color. You can even boil then simmer the rhizomes to extract more nutrients.

    Wondering why ALL my stinging nettle plants (growing wild in my yard) have seeds already, even the baby ones. I heard I can't eat the leaves once they seed but they always HAVE seeds! What is wrong with these plants? Why are they seeding immediately?

    • @wendiland
      @wendiland  3 роки тому +1

      Warm weather seems to make them go to seed faster. Younger plants here do not have seeds. Once they produce seeds, the stings get stronger as well. But once the plants dry the chemicals that makes the stings last long go away.

    Bruh if my mom ate raw honey I don't even think she'd make it to the hospital and that's only a 20 min trip for us. But nettle scones are great.
