Does electric power in a large delivery van work? The first to really give this question a shake is the 2023 LDV eDeliver9, a large van with a fully electric powertrain. It might be a pioneer, but does it make sense?

I noticed the wonky badging beforehand, makes you wonder about other aspects. No android auto?
Spoke to one of our regular delivery guys currently driving a Deliver 9 high roof diseasal. He does between 275 & 300 a day for Aramex. He refills every 3 days.
The cost & range for the electric is just ludicrous if you are having to pay for it.
Also being this long and front plugged, try parking at a fast charger at lunch time. See if you don’t upset other road users
My mate that drives the electric version for Aramex saves $200 per week on diesel😂
My Maxus EV80 saves me $6000 per year in fuel😂
Please keep your diesels and petrols as long as you can😂
@@badchefi wow! He save $200/wk over a diesel engined van? That’s awesome economy. Spend an extra $70,000 to save $200/wk. Just think, in 7 years you will break even……..
I think its fantastic for a camper i wonder what you could run off it like living in the back
Compared with diesel, how many years to break even?
in NZ this thing is 62k right now, so much cheaper.
$120k and it can't do highway speed 😂
"The only offering of this size in AU with a fully electric powertrain"
Incorrect. EV Automotive sells the Skywell EC11 electric van which is about $10k cheaper
Sam, please upload the new Scorpio N review.
Working on that right now... It's under embargo but check back on April 26th.
And the positives are?
Nothing
Double the price, double the compromises.
We run these in New Zealand for our business. They are awesome however seem to be so much cheaper in New Zealand
If they fit it out with seats for families like mine who doesn't drive over 150km per day with endless school drop offs day chores, work days then after school activities for multiple children. This eVan would suit a large family of 6+ kids. The price knocks us out of being able to buy it however. Even as a combined income we don't earn that much and with 6 dependants we wouldn't get approved for finance to buy it sadly.
Which it's annoying as it would really suit a large family if it had seats in it for all the city driving the speed restriction wouldn't matter.
When home we could charge it using our solar too. So it truly would suit us... again that price tag...
At double the price of a diesel not for my business
Great review though
Thanks mate!
Double the price of diesel at these prices. If diesel doubles then it becomes efficient
Way over priced. Should be 80k
Ldv is a waste of good hard earned money
94 Km top speed 270 km range Complete waste of time Its a Hell No from this Tradesman
To me the only image I imagine of a company using EV is stupidity. Let’s think double the cost and half the mileage. That’s something to brag about. Wouldn’t want my name on the side. Especially when something happens. These vehicles are ridiculous for fools that believe the nonsense about carbon.
Never seen any EV actually make the mileage advertised. Besides in America it doesn’t go fast enough to be on the highway.
Ldv the new word for crap
