  • It's redeemable, but I created another problem on this SG style guitar that needs fixing, so I'm shelving this project until a later date. The pickup ring is overhanging a body bevel.

Great video. You should direct mount the pickups. I think it would look awesome on that body.

Direct mount would look great and showcase your clean route/repair!

Skip the rings and mount them to the pocket like an Ibanez. I know it's not like what the Gibsters do, but it beats more grafting and routing. Has more "Tone" that way (snicker)

You should get one of those fretboard gluing blocks, I use em at school, helps prevent dings and keeping even pressure

I'd go with the "Jnr.," response. The pick up looks like it is too far over to line up with the strings either. Everyone can make a mistake; you have to bounce back... Good luck, Pete.

Oh, perhaps that's the camera angle. String alignment is good!
I'm hearing a few people (here and elsewhere) say go for the Jnr though, so I might...

Another option would be a full face pick guard.

turn it into a Jr. then wire it like an esquire because you already have it routed for a switch!

It's not rage quitting if you don't throw something or injure yourself by hitting something with your fist or foot carry on mate

Those rings are oversized Epiphone style. Get real rings and they should work
