    Thank you for this video. I’m watching it 2 years after it posted and it has been so reassuring that I don’t HAVE to do anything. Your approach is very reassuring and empowering in letting the person stitching do what they like not what “must” be done.

    This is my first time watching you, and I subscribed. I have asked many others about to bead but have not understood most of what I’ve been told. I’m a visual learner, so watching you has been so helpful! I could not figure out how to make a full cross while beading, I like how you are doing it.

    I'm in the process of beading Tigerlily and argh, going to have to pull out a few because I hate how the thread shows through. I don't like the invisible thread either, but doing a full cross sometimes means that I am not able to get the thread pulled all through and the bead sitting flush, so some of that thread bunches up. Some great tips in this video, and have shared it with my local group :)

    Helpful video, thanks so much. I found you via your Facebook comment last week regarding FT. I have been stitching for years and have beaded many projects ( Mira’s Summer Queen being one of them) . I happily used to use DMC floss for beading until somebody told me I HAD to use invisible thread, cross both ways, etc. It’s funny despite years of stitching that I would listen to people who said it had be done a certain way. I appreciate your practical approach. I also don’t like the bead grab -it gadget. Glad I am not the only one. I hope your surgery recovery is as brief as possible, and you can be as pain free as possible. In time I will watch more of your videos. Thanks! Sue ( time_to_stitch_ )

    Im currently cross stitching my first ever project, with beads and I’m dreading it so much! For some reason I imagined that there should be stitches under the beading, or should it be left blank? There are supposed to be treasures on the project too, and the blank spaces look so naked! 😂

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  Місяць тому

      Leave it blank! It looks so strange until the beads are added.

    I’m finally working on my first Mirabilia. I’m nowhere near finished and at the beading stage, but I was wondering what it means when there is a number in brackets beside the bead number to be used on the pattern? There are 2 different bead numbers that have a (2) after it, and one that has a (3) after it. The pattern is Princess Elliana.

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  7 місяців тому +1

      That usually means the number of packages you need of that bead. Have fun with it!

    Hi, I’m working on my first Mirabilia and I had a question about krinek, do you always only use 1 strand? On one color it says one strand and on another color it doesn’t specify, but 2 seemed too bulky and hard to pull through…thanks for sharing your knowledge and beautiful work!

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  9 місяців тому

    Thanks for a great video. How do you secure the thread when there are individual beads with no stitching near? Hope the surgery goes well and you make a good recovery

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! In that case I’ll usually do a loop start and then a lot of back and forth at the end to secure it.

    Hi Amy! Thank you for this super helpful video! Hope you’re also recovering well. My question though is about Kreinik or metallic threads. How do you start and end them and how many strands do you use for 28 or 32 count?

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  2 роки тому +1

      The #4 braid is usually just used one strand at a time, so I usually run them under some stitches on the back. They’re more slippery than dmc, so I usually will go back and forth (across one row then back in the other direction on a row above or below) to make sure it’s anchored properly. I finish it off the same way. The Blending filament (not as commonly used, generally) is also usually one strand mixed with something else, but I’ve doubled it to get a certain look sometimes. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching! My leg seems to be doing well so far. 😊

    Hi Amy, love you videos! I’m dong my first ever Mira and am trying to avoid buying a scroll frame. Have you ever beaded your projects while in a Qsnap? If so how did you keep from crushing the beads?

    • @sparklestitcher2504
      @sparklestitcher2504 Рік тому

      Edit… the one scroll frame I do have won’t work with the floor stand I already have.

    • @fiberartsamy2654
      @fiberartsamy2654  Рік тому

      Thanks! I do use a qsnap but I use a larger, even a 17x17 to bead once the piece is large. I start in an 11x11 then move up as I need to. Do not put a qsnap clamp over beads; I agree that it would tear or break something.
