*Teacher Sam* , westerners learned drinking bear, having premarital sex from their western society, it wasn’t forced upon them.
The same way we learned morals from our Muslim society! And hijab is a part of that.

Yes and no for some it’s personal others get social and cultural pressures to wear it. I knew a girl that got pressured to wear it but her parents were super strict but that’s one case most is for personal reasons.

Literally everyone is making choices influenced by outside factors in one or way or the other. To say otherwise is denying decades of social psychology research. There's no such thing as pure "free will". Its only an illusion.

Respect to those women following the teachings of their creator instead of teachings of creation (society). All support to Muslim women in hijab well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This is what we call freedom 👍🏼

Huh. Who is following the teachings of creator who is creator how do you know u r following the creator??? Did creator came to to tell what to follow? Who know that you that your assumed messenger of God is really send by God.
And considering this universe and multi verse and time scale you are here for millionth or billionth times of a second and your size is same categories and you think creator care about what you wear eat pray to??? Really???
Okay I believe that there is someone who created everything but to believe that he is caring for you your believe pray what u eat how you dress is a bit nonsensical.... Does God then don't care your other living being other than human? Because we treat other being like it's we who are their God.
Idea of religion where human are given prominence says that it's fucking human ideas human made this shit up.

Given the dominance of western culture especially on the elites, women are more likely to choose not to wear hijab . This was and is true that most women from the upper and upper-middle-class don't wear hijab. However, before colonialism, the exact opposite was true - most upper-middle-class women were behind Parda and hardly ventured out , while lower class women enjoyed more mobility and lesser Parda . This was sanctioned by the Shariah which was flexible towards women who had to go out

Prof Sam, the next time you bring hijabis or even just Muslims, you should bring on converts as well. Would be interested in hearing that perspective

I made a choice to stop wearing pants.. I'm a Christian but no one at my church follows this principle, nobody in my household who are also Christians follow this principle none of my friends follow this principle. it's a decision that I made after doing research on various topics including how women started wearing pants, the idea of modesty, male and female relations etc. plus the bible ofc.. influences does determine your behavior but in the end it's your choice.. no one else can be held accountable unless u're a minor ofc 😊

There are cultural pressures for women to not wear the hijab in the west as well

Subtle and not so subtle peer pressure often

when it comes to peer pressure on gender issues, the liberal tend to be very careful. But just stop being like that when talking about Hijab.

your family and society do affect your choice
    it happens in every matter
that's why we feel thankful that we were born here and we unintentionally just made this choice or I should say our society made it easy for us to make this choice
but it doesn't mean that If we go somewhere where people around us are really different from our people then we'd just follow them
for example in the case of hijab, we know it's religious values maybe not at the time when we start wearing it but now we know it
