Good concept. It's always good to see others through their eyes. Interesting. They won't wear the cross daily or take up Christ to understand a view that's not theirs. @@amamaabubakar4211 the girls who were not wearing a Hijab were quite decent in my honest opinion. Decency outside of Islam is relative and changes with circumstance, eg weather, occasion, situation etc. It's upsulutely decent for a woman to wear a bikini on the beach on a hot day. It fits the occasion, weather and situation. She however wouldn't wear a bikini to go skiing otherwise she would freeze to death.

People should understand, full cover of body with veil were same for jews/Christians/Muslims who belong t the same place the desert of middle east. Even hindus/punjabis used to cover their heads with saree/dupattas. Its not just for religion or tradition, it was to escape the extreme temperatures, and people dont have ac cars, rooms, etc facilities. Opposite to that, people in the tropical places used to bare much of their skins due to excessive hot and humidity. Now time has changed so we have to accept the changes rather dress like ancient citizens. The dress should be according to the places/countries we live.
"Empowerment" would be to truly, and I mean TRULY not care about your appearance and the effects your appearance, whatever it is, has on other people. If they wore less, would they personally feel hedonistic? Or slutty? Or inappropriate? Would they feel comfortable wearing less as well? Would they notice if anyone looked at them? Would they wonder, even for a split second, what their mother, father, brother, sister, or even a stranger would think? Would they feel guilty? Guilt is a form of social control, ya know. How much of their skin would they feel comfortable exposing before they start feeling uncomfortable? 30%?, 50%? 80%? My guess is that percentage falls somewhere within a range deemed "socially acceptable". That's not resisting norms, it's not "empowerment". It's compliance.
Not really. It's taking their part of responsibility in society as a whole, knowing that they are more likely protected this way from any harm and that they are willing to take a responsibility in that. Just like how we should not walk naked in order to not disturb others around us. This is just a more covered version of that because they don't just take normal people into consideration but also sick minded people. They are in control about who they choose to open up to, to show themselves to. They are selective. From there, they can choose who to expose themselves to, which in fact shows they control everything about themselves. They don't care what others think of them because if they did they would feel pressured to wear makeup or be pretty, which is not the case. Don't put the emphasis on "being confortable wearing less", they have the right to wear less in front of the ones they care about and not just everyone. Don't force your definition of freedom on others.
@@Nora-ry1nw sctually, being free to walk around naked is in fact freedom. I'm not forcing "my definition" of freedom, I'm simply talking about THE definition of freedom. The most empowered people are the people with the *most* freedom and who *practice* said freedom. For example, if Woman-A wore a regular t-shirt and jeans on Monday, a slinky see through gown on Tuesday, a fully covered long coat on Wednesday, a fully covered niqab on Thursday, completely naked on Friday, mens attire on Saturday, and ratty unkempt clothes on Sunday, AND did it all for no other reason than "she just wanted to", then Woman-A is among the most empowered people on earth. Of course, not everyone is as empowered as Woman-A. And that's ok. That's why there are degrees of Empowerment. So if the non-muslim girls feel totally comfortable at wearing a hijab in public but the Muslim girls aren't comfortable at doing the reverse, then the non-muslim girls are more empowered than the Muslim girls because they have and *PRACTICE* more freedoms.
@@Nora-ry1nw as for those "sick minded people"... that's why we lock 'em up. In civil societies, the responsibility is on people to NOT be sick-minded no matter how offended or disturbed we become from others words and dress. And by sick-minded I mean people who act with violence (rape, assault, physical harrassment, etc.) When societies have that concept as a fundamental rule- to put the scrutiny/fault/punishment on the violent person rather than the non-violent disturbing person, then *maximal* *freedoms* can flourish. As opposed to societies where 1 party has to "take their part of the responsibility" in order to prevent the other party from being violent.
@@ec6621 That is still your definition of freedom. Someone can feel free without having to choose whatever she wears everyday. If to you that means freedom that's great go for it. The hijab is worn for many reasons and this is one of them. Freedom is not felt on a physical level but rather on a soul level. So needs to show off our body to the world or get "naked" is not a thing. It is not important, it does not matter. What matters is that the soul is free and in peace. And that we can find in islam, as much as you hate to accept it. Now as for the idea that she can wear it whenever, it's up to you to decide if you want to wear hijab for fun, that's cool for you, we decide to wear it as a ruling of our religion based on taking that said responsibility and many other reasons like keeping our haya. Which is a word that probably does not exist in english but back to the subject: that story about prison is funny, because prison has never made anyone any better and we all know that. In islam it is not a solution, and that is your idea of a perfect world. We decide to accept to take our part of the responsibility, and knowing that we did our part actually makes us feel in control and not being controlled. What you deem as innocent women not having to take responsibility is your personal idea of resolving an issue, we are a lot more communal, which, for an individualistic american person like you, must feel very strange or weird. No problem, I'm just letting you know there is much more to this world than your perception of freedom. Hope it helped. Also I'm not going to go further into discussion after this, because it seems like you just want to be right instead of listening or learning. So take care.
@@Nora-ry1nw "What matters is that the soul is free and in peace". It sounds you want to re-define freedom to center around *just* *feelings*. While I'm centering it around *reality* which *include* human feelings. I do so because *feelings* depend on the individual but *reality* is imposed on everyone. Thus it's a more objective measuring stick to compare everyone with. free·dom /ˈfrēdəm/ noun the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Sure, you could say they want to wear hijab, and they do so without hindrance, therefore they're free. But in the reverse, they can't. Which means they are NOT as free as women who can both wear and not wear hijab without hindrances. Now, EVERYONE lives with restrictions. And that's ok. I'm not saying everyone should just run around naked with no direction. But there IS such a difference in *degree* in freedom and empowerment. Someone who has *greater* *RANGE* in options and practices with *least* *HINDRANCES* is the persons with the *_MOST_* *_FREEDOMS_* . And thus the most empowered. But hey... if you want to use a measuring stick as fickle and subjective as "feelings", then even a literal slave is "free" because he has deluded himself into "feeling" that way. His *feelings* say very little about his *reality*, though.
That cool and all but let's not act like there aren't countries where these women aren't FORCED to wear these things. Or perhaps they were forced to do so back in the day and have just grown to accept it today. I support them wearing it if that's what they want to do but i reject this notion that it isn't or wasn't forced at one time

Salman Zafar that’s right! Both men and women can have lust. That’s why there is so much infidelity and divorces. Both men and women can step outside of their marriage because of their lust for someone else other than their wife or husband. At the end of the day, we don’t cover to please men because they would rather see as much of our skin as they can. We cover because Allah SWA is the one who created us and knows what is best for mankind, and covering actually makes us feel more comfortable when being in the presence of STRANGE men.

It's really akin to putting up your hoodie in the gym. Head coverings are almost universal throughout time and human civilization for practical and religious purposes. Norms too.
When I was a kid all women had to cover their heads in catholic church and all men had to uncover theirs. Even as a small kid this seemed illogical to me. When I asked why I was told it was the rules and going to church was about following rules rather than questioning them. No religious rules make sense when you actually think about them. But you can bring up facts you pulled from the news, or a convo with your neighbour about their one bad experience with someone who says they're muslim, or about something you read in a bias website or video. But our religion is also a religion of knowledge. Lack of knowledge is what oppresses people, not a piece of fabric on your head.
How about the Islamic sources that say Mohammad had sex with a nine year old, Aisha? He consummated the marriage very early. If your religion tells you to live like Mohammad, than it really doesnt surprise me there is so much islamic violence and sexism. Mohammad was a violent person. Aisha was nine. Its a fact. Mohammad was a pedophile.
Why did Allah tell you or all Muslims to listen to a pedophile? And why does Allah want to force the women on earth to wear tablecloths on their heads...?

Boohoo!

You can cover the hair without covering the body. Maybe you should rephrase it to say what you think women should do
Hijab is cover of body an haya is cover of soul
"I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT." IN AMERICA YE, WITHING LIMITS. TRY DOING WHAT YOU WANT IN A AFGHANISTAN.
Old women in Italy wore this normally besides maybe on sunny days. Problem isn't the hijab, it's the constriction to it
The Hijab is a piece of clothing designed to provide security for women. Its not design to oppress women and instead to empower women to be more confident and feeling secure and safe. They're not judged on their looks but on their minds. Its for theirs and society's Peace and Well being.
mother Africa you don't get it do you?
Okay so if it isnt suppressive, why dont Muslim women get a choice in wearing one?
The problem is not what happens when girls wear it, but what happens when they don't. But choice is not real in my country
Good concept. It's always good to see others through their eyes. Interesting. They won't wear the cross daily or take up Christ to understand a view that's not theirs. At the end of the day, each person is responsible for their own actions.
What you put on the outside doesn't change the inside. Its not much different than makeup. Soon, that will be a fashion and no one will know why.

Very cool.. let's open more bridges of understanding
That's right, let's open more bridges, the muslim women should try western clothes as well then they will know how comfortable it can be.
DASSEN Most Muslim women do wear Western clothing though. They just wear the hijab as well lol
Mizan: That is the beginning of the disease.
Want to understand? Hijabs are forced on women.
@@Dassen287 When hijabi-Muslim women are with other women, family, or any man they could not technically marry, they can wear whatever they please. Many of these girls could and very well may dress like this from the comfort of their own homes.
In islam wearing hijab is not a choice or decision it's a command of God.
No, Mary the mother of Jesus didnt wear a hijab. Just because old paintings have it, doesnt mean she did. Plus, Christians wore head coverings way before Muslims existed. Except they werent called hijabs, and they werent sexist like hijabs.
What is he trying to teach them .
My question exactly.
I think decent dressing
@@amamaabubakar4211 the girls who were not wearing a Hijab were quite decent in my honest opinion. Decency outside of Islam is relative and changes with circumstance, eg weather, occasion, situation etc. It's upsulutely decent for a woman to wear a bikini on the beach on a hot day. It fits the occasion, weather and situation. She however wouldn't wear a bikini to go skiing otherwise she would freeze to death.
My great grandmother wore a scarf over her head. It was not a hijab. It is called a babushkah. There is something about a woman who was acting calm when Kennedy was shot. She wore a babushkah. It looks so much like a hijab. Although my great grandmother was Ukrainian, not Arabic. Very happy people. Became happy United States citizens. ProAmericans.
I dont think the girl at the end had finished with her words yet
People should understand, full cover of body with veil were same for jews/Christians/Muslims who belong t the same place the desert of middle east. Even hindus/punjabis used to cover their heads with saree/dupattas. Its not just for religion or tradition, it was to escape the extreme temperatures, and people dont have ac cars, rooms, etc facilities. Opposite to that, people in the tropical places used to bare much of their skins due to excessive hot and humidity. Now time has changed so we have to accept the changes rather dress like ancient citizens. The dress should be according to the places/countries we live.
They looked really good.
Anyone from the video reply plz
And by sick-minded I mean people who act with violence (rape, assault, physical harrassment, etc.)
When societies have that concept as a fundamental rule- to put the scrutiny/fault/punishment on the violent person rather than the non-violent disturbing person, then *maximal* *freedoms* can flourish.
Thus it's a more objective measuring stick to compare everyone with.
free·dom
/ˈfrēdəm/
noun
the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
His *feelings* say very little about his *reality*, though.

why cant thease men have more controll over there lust for a woman? sounds like they need to learn self controll !
Dude lust is innate nature of humans. Having modesty decreases the incidences of having lustful thoughts
