To help with putting on and taking off hoses use some Rectorseal 5. Great videos

It's much easier to leave the 90 degree steel pipe out and put it back once the heat exchanger is in. I always remove the coolant tank anyways as I dont want to spill any coolant in the usually very clean bilge.

great great videos watched them all ...hi I have 2 qsb 5.9 HO's love them have a couple of questions... 1. can you estimate how many hours it took you to do both engine heat exchangers and aftercoolers...2. why did you choose to change the gear oil cooler , preventative ? or was there something you were seeing wring with tranny or in the fluid ?.. im coming up on 1000 hours and starting to think of offseason projects like this ... btw SB marine is great for us cummins guys ... they know it all . Tony is great as are the forums

Thanks for video. I still don't know how to drain coolant? Can you post that

Great videos! Thank you so much! When you drained the antifreeze out, I assume all of it comes out? How much did you have to add back in?

Chris Bitton yes I drained it all. Each engine took a different amount because of our diesel heater run through the port engine. Each one took 6 gallons plus or minus.

@@abredeson good to know. I have the exact engines and am looking to do the same thing. Especially the aftercoolers. Great, helpful videos.

Cant find any concentrated coolant anymore in my area. Anyone else noticed the trend?
