Lily advised us to learn our 75 times tables. I’ve memorised up to 75 x 12 so far. So I’m really pleased she mentioned that at the end in addition to the solution she gave, since that’s how I’d got to 403.
First round I only got 1 away. (8*3)+1=25, multiply by 25 for 625, and take away the 2. Second round I just did (6*3)+1=19, multiply by 50 for 950, add 5+7=12, and was happy to get 9 away. Third round was mercifully trivial. (25+75)*(5-1)=400, add 6/2=3.
In the first round, I saw Lily's solution, and also had these ones: 25 + 1 = 26 25 x 8 x 3 = 624 624 - 2 = 622 25 x 8 = 200 200 + 7 = 207 207 x 3 = 621 621 + 1 = 622 In the second round, I saw Lily's solution, but within the 30 seconds, as well as this very similar solution: 3 + 1 = 4 50 x 4 = 200 200 - 7 = 193 193 x 5 = 965 965 + 6 = 971 And I also had this one: 50 x 3 = 150 150 + 7 + 5 = 162 162 x 6 = 972 972 - 1 = 971 In the final round, I factored (31 x 13 = 403) for this solution: ' 25 + 6 = 31 75 / 5 = 15 15 - 2 = 13 31 x 13 = 403 And I also had this alternative: 6 x 2 = 12 75 - 12 = 63 5 + 1 = 6 63 x 6 = 378 378 + 25 = 403 However, the easiest way was: 75 x 5 = 375 375 + 25 + 2 + 1 = 403 Finally, Lehmo could have reached the target with his method in this way: 75 - 25 = 50 50 + 1 = 51 6 + 2 = 8 51 x 8 = 408 408 - 5 = 403
403
(75+25)*(5-1)=400
6/2=3
400+3=403.
Btw I like the tries at Lily explains how to get the solutions.
Countdown, where it is Rachel and Lily against each other
Lily advised us to learn our 75 times tables.
I’ve memorised up to 75 x 12 so far.
So I’m really pleased she mentioned that at the end in addition to the solution she gave, since that’s how I’d got to 403.
50 x 3 = 150
7 + 5 = 12
150 + 12 = 162
162 x 6 = 972
972 - 1 = 971.
Rachel would've seen that for sure. #rachelsupremacy
1st numbers, i went, 8x25=200 +7 =(207) x 3 = 621 and finally + 1 = 622
622
8*3=24
25+1=26
26*24=624-2=622
First round I only got 1 away. (8*3)+1=25, multiply by 25 for 625, and take away the 2.
Second round I just did (6*3)+1=19, multiply by 50 for 950, add 5+7=12, and was happy to get 9 away.
Third round was mercifully trivial. (25+75)*(5-1)=400, add 6/2=3.
7:40 No one was burned as a witch in Salem in the 1600s. Hanged, yes, but burned, no.
I know it's basically exactly the same show, but I find this so much more difficult to watch than Countdown.
Think of it more like a Catsdown rather than a Countdown.
Oh no😢why?
It's a mix of countdown and 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, our version is a little more serious but still good to watch
622: 25*8=200; 200+7=207; 207*3=621; 621+1=622
25*8=200, +7=207, *3=621, +1=622
971 is also
50*(3+1) =200
-7 = 193
*5 = 965
+6 = 971
In the first round, I saw Lily's solution, and also had these ones:
25 + 1 = 26
25 x 8 x 3 = 624
624 - 2 = 622
25 x 8 = 200
200 + 7 = 207
207 x 3 = 621
621 + 1 = 622
In the second round, I saw Lily's solution, but within the 30 seconds, as well as this very similar solution:
3 + 1 = 4
50 x 4 = 200
200 - 7 = 193
193 x 5 = 965
965 + 6 = 971
And I also had this one:
50 x 3 = 150
150 + 7 + 5 = 162
162 x 6 = 972
972 - 1 = 971
In the final round, I factored (31 x 13 = 403) for this solution:
'
25 + 6 = 31
75 / 5 = 15
15 - 2 = 13
31 x 13 = 403
And I also had this alternative:
6 x 2 = 12
75 - 12 = 63
5 + 1 = 6
63 x 6 = 378
378 + 25 = 403
However, the easiest way was:
75 x 5 = 375
375 + 25 + 2 + 1 = 403
Finally, Lehmo could have reached the target with his method in this way:
75 - 25 = 50
50 + 1 = 51
6 + 2 = 8
51 x 8 = 408
408 - 5 = 403
The second round is not hard. It is reachable from 972 easily:
3 x 50 = 150
150 + 7 + 5 = 162
162 x 6 = 972
972 - 1 = 971
25×3=75+1=76×8=608 7×2=14+608= 622
622 3×8=24 25+1=26×24=624-2=622
403 25+6=31 75÷5=15-2=13×31=403
403:
75+6=81,
81x5=405,
405-2=403.
971, 50*3 = 150. + 5+7 = 162, *6 = 972, -1 = 971
8X3 = 24 25+1 = 26X24 = 624-2 = 622
7-3 = 4X50 = 200-6 = 194X5 = 970+1 = 971
6/2 = 3 75/5 = 15+1 = 16X25 = 400+3 = 403
75X5 = 375+25 = 400+1+2 = 403
25+6 = 31 75/5 = 15-2 = 13X31 = 403
25+1 = 26X2 = 52-5 = 47 75X6 = 450-47 = 403
403:
25 + 75 = 100
5 - 1 = 4
4 * 100 = 400
6 / 2 = 3
400 + 3 = 403
75 * 5 = 375
375 + 25 + 2 + 1 = 403
75 + 1 = 76
76 * 5 = 380
380 + 25 - 2 = 403
75 / 5 = 15
15 - 2 = 13
25 + 6 = 31
31 * 13 = 403
Method 1 for me. The numbers were grouped together which helped.
971 I got 972. Many ways of doing so
(50+5-1)*6*3 is one of them
{[(25 × 8) + 7] × 3} + 1 = 622
