To be honest, it's never easy to explain.. it's just something thats literally in you.. like you never wake up saying you want to convert. I felt like I had a Jewish Neshama my entire life.. I remember after I converted the first thing I did was quit my job and live in Israel for a bit. I went to a yeshiva in Jerusalem , and it was the greatest exposure to Torah. What has the Oral Law of Orthodox Judaism to do with the Torah?
      ‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31,
[31] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] *not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;* which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: [33] *but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days,* saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34] And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
      ‭Daniel‬ ‭9,
[24] Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
[25] Know therefore and understand, that
      from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem {445 BC}unto the Messiah the Prince {April 32 AD when Jesus enterered the City of Jerusalem in a donkey (Zechariah) before HIS crucifixion and resurrection and ascension}
      shall be
      seven weeks,
      and threescore and two weeks:
the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
[26] And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off {32 AD}, but not for himself:
      and the people of the prince that shall come {in Daniel's 70th week for Israel}
      shall destroy the city and the sanctuary {70 AD};
and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
[27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week {Daniel's 70th week for Israel, Jacob's trouble Jeremiah 30, 7}:
and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate {Revelation 13+19, 2 Thess. 2}.

I left Christianity around 28 years ago. I learned how Pagan it was then learned that the early church purposely changed G-ds word to sound christological . I felt so betrayed and was happy to leave and embrace Judaism and convert. Being a Noahide was not an option. I knew I had to convert. I felt like I was Jewish and just needed to finalize it with conversion.

Only Western Christianity is heretical, even then it doesn't have pagan things, also there is no proof of the early church changing God's word to sound "Christological", as we have the epistles of the early Christians, and early Greek manuscripts with large portions of the New Testament when translated is the same as our current translations. Sorry to tell you this, but you were lied to, I guess people do live happier living a lie.

I fellowshipped, worshipped n became a member as a pentecostal, baptist, seventh day adventist, methodist, non denomination Christian... I am now 44 and have done a complete 360 in my search for truth. I took a sabbatical from my Christian place of worship and still find myself drawn to the laws, precepts and the Holy reverence in the old testament. I pray YHWH allows me to find the fellowship between brothers and sisters that hunger for GOD n GOD alone! I still follow the Leviticus law in regards to food. That’s the first thing people need to understand that the New Testament is not an extension of the Torah. The Torah has a beginning, and it has an end, and nothing may be changed or ADDED. No we do not proselytize, Judaism is a religion of attraction. You’re either born into it, or convert, and I truly believe that people that convert already have Jewish souls, and the conversion just makes them complete again not all Jewish souls are born into Jewish families.

    • @mattikarosenthal3298
      @mattikarosenthal3298 Рік тому

The first thing is that the Jayman never fulfilled any biblical prophecies. And since he was a Jew, his soul was at Mount Sinai, you cannot take that away from him, because all Jewish souls were at Mount Sinai together, those that have passed, those that were living, and those yet to be born. But we do not worship a man, we only worship our creator, and we do not need any intermediaries. And also followers of the Jayman take things out of context, I couldn’t believe it when I was speaking with a follower of the Cj man, and he told me that there was no more covenant between the Jewish people and Hashem, because we had sinned! Are you kidding me? He said that the first covenant didn’t exist anymore, that HaShem “disolved” it and that since the Jayman, a new covenant was in place. Are you kidding me? Where do they come up with this stuff?😮

As an African American and person who used to be a Christian this was refreshing to hear! I left Christianity for some of the same reasons and have spent the last 13 or more years studying with my Rabbi. I have not “converted “ to Orthodox Judaism because I understand that it is not needed. I am a follower of HaShem, the God of Israel and I love the Jewish people. I am a follower of Truth and they are the caregivers of Truth and are in this world to teach us. Again this was refreshing to hear. I pray others would start asking the questions that will lead them to follow after truth.

I observe and celebrate all the festivals and follow HaShem’s commandments as I continue to study and get understanding as I follow after HaShem’s truths. I didn’t want to step out of one box into another. I am continually enlightened with our weekly Torah portions in gaining understanding each day. We, too, discovered many of the things you have found regarding errors in Christianity, such as x-mas/Easter pagan holidays & Sunday worship that came from Roman Catholicism (RCC). We left mainstream Christianity many years ago and got back to our Hebrew Roots.
Early on in church history, they began to teach that Paul the Apostle taught against the Law of God, but this is another error within Christianity that continues to be taught.
“Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! May it never be, on the contrary, we uphold the law.” (Romans 3:31)
“What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Absolutely not! Certainly, I would not have known sin except through the Law. For indeed I would not have known what it means to desire something belonging to someone else if the Law had not said, "Do not covet"” (Romans 7:7).
“So then, the Law is set-apart, and the commandment is set-apart, righteous, and good” (Romans 7:12).
“For we know that the Law is spiritual--but I am unspiritual, sold into slavery to sin” (Romans 7:14).
“For I delight in the Law of Elohim in my inner being” (Romans 7:22).
Neither Paul, Stephen nor any of the Apostles ever taught against the Law of God/Moses, they upheld the Law in every way just as Yeshua did. If you read closely, it specifically states that they were “falsely accused of teaching against the Law of Moses”. If the accusation was false, they had to be teaching the Law as in tact. Acts 21:18-26 & Acts 6:8-15.
All through Acts you see them observing Sabbath, taking vows, etc. It was the corrupt RCC that purported the Law was done away with and started a new religion apart from Torah/Tanakh….they were VERY anti-Semitic so they distanced themselves from anything “Jewish”, but in the process, distanced themselves from all Truth.
There is a ministry in Israel called One For Israel who properly explains these things, plus they have exposed Orthodox/Rabbinical Judaism for the many commandments that have been added to and taken away from Torah/Tanakh---known as “Oral Laws” (Talmud/Mishnah)---these were the man-made traditions and commands of the Pharisees (Orthodox) that Yeshua called them out on numerous times (but Christians think these were God’s Laws when they were not). Matthew 23:4,15, 25-26, 32. www.oneforisrael.org/bible-based-teaching-from-israel/did-god-also-give-moses-an-oral-law/
“You who boast in the (oral) law dishonor Elohim by transgressing the (written) Law!” (Romans 2:23).
You are right to abandon the errors within Christendom, the added commands and traditions of men, but you will eventually come to realize that the Rabbis in Orthodox Judaism ALSO have numerous man-made traditions and commands that go against Torah (Mishnah & Talmud & Kabbalah/Gematria). ua-cam.com/video/tddCNY6U77Y/v-deo.html
May you be blessed by Yah.

wWhen I was 6 years old , I had a dream with God asking me to pray in Hebrew and that is where my soul journey started. At the time, I was living in Brazil without any jewish life miles away and my mother was shocked that I even knew what hebrew was.
Anyways… thank you for oppening up and sharing your beautiful story with us, B’ezrat Hashem, you will inspire more and more sould that are strugguling with the same questions and searching to connect with Hashem and find the true!

I too decided over a decade and half ago, to start questioning my Christian upbringing, and started on my exploring journey which included Buddism. However, Judaism kept pulling me back like a magnet! Lol. After a decade, feeling like what I describe" God kicking me in the butt", I decided to walk into our only reform congregation here in Ottawa, Canada and finally felt I was exactly where I needed to he. Spent a year going through my conversion and finally, the mikveh. I felt I had arrived home💓

Thank you very much for sharing your story. Both of my parents are Jewish and I grew up secular for a time, then my great grandmother went fully back to the Sephardic Synagogue and began teaching us Torah. When my mother became religious as an adult she went back to Torah. Unfortunately Y. was added. Not as a demigod, or virgin birth or God, but still as the Mashiach. I never understood this at all , even as a child. We never really learned about him except that he said keep the Torah and he would return. We only studied Torah/Tanakh. As an adult I prayed and realized that I needed to know what I actually knew and why I did the things that I did. This led me right back to Torah, Orthodox Judaism. I felt a freedom and closeness to Hashem that I had never experienced before. Within our family we have secular, Orthodox, and Modern Orthodox . We also have Muslim, Christians, atheist and Lapid. When I shifted no one wanted to really hear why, or what I was doing. Fear for many reasons prevented conversations. Which is okay with me because like you guys say it is my journey. All of my children (10) are adults and half of them are married. I am thrilled that they are all on their own journeys and are leaning back into Judaism. I am older than you guys and I am thrilled to say that you have encouraged and inspired me to stand up a bit taller on this journey. Lo siento for the long comment. Please continue to share. There have been so many false Messiahs, so I don’t think Christians should take it so hard, the Jayman was only one of many false messiahs in our history. We do not worship any man. In fact, no one even knew where Moses was buried just for that reason, so that his grave would not become a place to worship him again we only worship the creator, not men or things that Hashem has created.

The canonization of the Bible as we have it today has definitely had an interesting journey. What's in the Bible depends on what community you're in: Ethiopian Coptics, Roman Catholics, the Orthodox Church, and Protestants all have different numbers of books that are an aren't included. The order of the Old Testament was definitely rearranged for a non-Jewish audience in order to explain how, by ending with Malachi, there was a "silence" of 400 years that was fulfilled by Jesus. My issue comes from modern Christianity's assumption of that because God was and still is speaking to us through the Jewish community.
Also, what I found helpful about the incongruity of the New Testament, is that they were primarily a collection of letters between communities. Paul's letters were in dialogue with and in response to those communities. Which is why he and James (who was much more Torah observant) had disagreeances between one another theologically. For Paul, he didn't want to not have Gentiles be welcomed into the community because they had to follow strict Torah observance, while other church leaders thought that by doing so Gentiles would be better connected with this burgeoning Jewish-Christian community.
I think we are DEFINITELY missing our Jewish nature within Christianity, and is something that I've been really diving into these past few months. I'm a seminary student and feel like there's something seriously lacking within the church today. I feel like we need to reconnect with our Jewish roots in a relational way. I'm saddened by how the schism grew to the point of Christianity breaking away from Judaism due to political power - particularly through Constantine and Theodosius.
I also hope this doesn't come across rudely! I am so, so happy that you have found a faith community that connects for you and your family. I'm actually in deep theological reflection about potentially converting to Judaism because of my own research into Judaism and frustration with the current Church.

The more you learn Hebrew and study the actual Bible, the more you find out that xianity is essentially just a fictional story that has nothing to do with the Bible whatsoever. It's like night and day, literally. The church/es don't want you to know what's in the Bible, because just about everything in xianity contradicts the Word of G-d. That's why they don't usually teach Hebrew in xianity, because they want to keep you in the dark.

RoseOOps, If your mother was truly Jewish then all of her children are 100% Jewish no matter what religion they "choose". Judaism follows the matrilineal line only. For example, you are Jewish and all your children are Jewish. Your granddaughter who wants to start observing is becoming her true self. Someone born Jewish can't really convert out of it except for show. The Jewish soul does not change and craves a connection to Torah and the Commandments. (btw only a true convert TO Judaism can make a soul change.) You and your granddaughter should visit an Orthodox or Chassidic Rabbi (like at a Chabad center) who can familiarize you with customs and obligations and what this all means.

I'm a Christian. I'm not here to evalengise you. However, I have to comment that Paul does not contradict Y'shua. The Bible has to be used to translate the Bible and (needless to say to some of you reading) the Ruah HaKodesh does all the heavy lifting when it comes to interpetation. Here is a verse from Peter's second Epistle concerning Paul:
"So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him (YHVH). Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."
    - II Peter 3:14-16 NIV
Truly, the people here in our modern times are no different than the people that were here long ago. Peter was warning the Church that there were people misinterpreting Paul to make it seem like he was anti-Jewish. As a result of Paul's deeply Spiritual Biblical exegesis, followers fell by the wayside as they were led astray by false doctrine. Fortunately for us Christians learning today, there are plenty of places in the New Testament where you can see that the idea of Paul being a sort of "Anti-Christ" is misguided. If you need more refrences, let me know, but I'll just end it here.
I wish you all well. Have a great Chanuka. Shalom Aleichem! : )

I have grace to you and your family for this transition. My question is why orthodox Judaism? Why not Messianic Judaism? Personally, I am 40 years in Messiah. In my faith walk, I've been pursuing YESHUA practically through the Scriptures. The original language and intent of the Bible is fundamental truth. My wife and I are simply accepting YESHUA'S invitation when He said: "Come Follow Me."
It's been over a year since we've been worshipping on Shabbat at a Messianic Jewish Synagogue. We are learning new Scriptural truth, unlearning lies and traditions of Man, and relearning the Hebraic roots of our faith in YESHUA MESSIAH. My wife is an ordained minister. We've made it a point not to go too far right or left in our faith journey. Rather we are to stay centered on YESHUA just as He is the center menorah candlestick. The inconvenient truth in the Body of Christ is that JESUS is JEWISH! Chriatians owe a massive debt of love, respect, and honor to our Elder Brother Israel.
This is the second straight year that we're celebrating Hannukah at Synagogue. We're so excited! And we have our first Hannukah menorahs for our home. Since its been a little over a year, weve celebrated the Moedims. So good! Simply, we are Believers and Followers of YESHUA. That is who a Disciple in Christ is. We aren't "converting" to Judaism. It's not necessary. My wife and I already have a relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by grace through faith in Christ. He is kadosh! Absolutely no sin can ever come into His Presence. The perfect obedience of YESHUA to ABBA FATHER'S will in His life, ministry, death, suffering, separation, burial, Resurrection, and ascension is key to our redemption. The very Name of YESHUA means God’s Salvation.
We do not participate in Easter or Christmas. Paganism has infiltrated the Body of Christ and it is a cancer.
Unfortunately, far too many in the "Church" run it like a business or organization instead of an organism.
I understand your disillusionment from pastors, preachers, ministers who do not rightly divide the word of God. The duplicitous lifestyle of many preachers both well known and obscure. It is sickening.
We do not consume pork or any shellfish.
I think I understand your argument relative to Messiah ben Joseph and Messiah ben David.
Both Joseph and Mary are from the Tribe of JUDAH. Joseph was whom HaShem chose along with Mary (young woman/maiden). Check out John Kostik's UA-cam video teaching on the subject.
Roman Emperor Constantine changed worship from the seventh day that Almighty God sanctified and blessed Saturday (Shabbat) to the first day, SUNday. We use the JPS and DHE Gospels as English Scripture reading after the Torah portion is read.
The two of you have some solid questions which is great. I encourage you to check out the UA-cam channels of John Kostik, Pastor Mark Biltz, and 119 Ministries. These are just a few suggestions of excellent Bible teachers that has blessed and edified my wife and I.
ABBA FATHER doesn't hide good things from His children. He hides good things for His kids.
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 JPS Tanakh 1917
This is the beauty of discovering and exploring the depths of Hebrew and Aramaic. I encourage you to go deeper into the WORD of GOD made in human flesh: YESHUA. Blessings! Shalom. 🙌🏼✡👑🦁📜🔥🕊

Hello, your faith is inspiring and I don't discriminate against you. I think the main reason we Jews don't accept Jesus as the Messiah is because he didn't ingather the exiles, rebuild the temple to its original glory and bring world peace. The reason G-d gave us these prophecies is that belief and trust in G-d is faith, but recognizing the Messiah is not an act of faith, it's merely a legal standard. Since Jesus did not satisfy the legal standard we cannot consider him the long awaited Messiah. Hope you understand.

@@zelda.1776 Shalom and thank you for your comment. By no means am I offended. This is healthy and positive exchange regarding an eternally important subject. With that said, I share these corresponding Scripture passages with you regarding Israel, the restoration, and Messiah.
      Yes and Amein!
Every jot and tittle of the Scriptures will be fulfilled. Some have already been fulfilled, some are presently being fulfilled, and still some are yet to be fulfilled.
I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ.
And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say, “The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness.
      Romans 11:25-26
So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
      Acts 1:6-11
The Scripture verses in Acts I find absolutely fascinating! First, ONLY God Himself hides in thick clouds and rides on clouds. Second, there are earthly witnesses and heavenly witnesses of Yeshua's ascension back to the Father.
We know from Leviticus that on the testimony of 2 or 3 witnesses is a thing established.
When someone you have loved is lost because of your great passion for that person, you'll move heaven and earth to reconcile. Then when what's lost is found, there is great rejoicing because of the fulfilled reconciliation. One may have all other kinds of other important concerns. However, the restoration of relationship is the supreme focus. Once that is re-establised, everything else will eventually fall into place.
In so many words, this is what Yeshua Messiah has done for humanity and will do for Israel in the future. Blessings.

I don't think you actually addressed my point, which is that Jesus hasn't done anything that was prophesied about the Messiah. Quite the opposite actually, his followers have only oppressed Israel further. I don't know what stronger proof you need than this, the entire prophets and writings speak of Israel's salvation and world peace. What has Jesus done towards that goal?
Indeed it seems his work, or at least the work of his followers is the exact opposite of that goal.

@@zelda.1776 Yes and Amein! The Nation of Israel heard the very voice of Almighty GOD. Yet, they were sore afraid and begged Moshe to be their intimediary. Just as He did with Adam and Eve, Aveinu Melkeinu wants to restore broken relationship and fellowship with Him. He spoke to Moshe like a friend and He wanted to speak directly to Israel in like manner whom He delivered from 400 years of Egyptian bondage. From Haman's plot to annihilate the Jews to Antiocus Epiphanies plot to assimilate Israel into Greek culture (reversing what Alexander the Great did) massive honor, respect, and appreciation to Israel for preserving Holy Scripture and bringing forth YESHUA MESSIAH during Sukkot.
What YESHUA has done for the human race is so much higher, wider, and deeper than most Orthodox Jews can comprehend. His finished work goes far beyond Israel as a nation. He hasn't forgotten the apple of His eye.
All of Israel shall be saved. Whether this happens during our lifetime or not.
It will happen. HaShem NEVER breaks His promises. He NEVER breaks His Covenant.

The first thing I heard when I asked someone about why Jews rejected Jesus Christ was something like because they were not expecting the humble, simple, and non-political Messiah. But, when I started to study more about these things, my mind opened. I'd say I don't know everything about Judaism, but I'm learning more and more. I'm still in the evangelical church because where I live there's not any synagogue. When I leave my city for another bigger one, I want to start to go to a synagogue and make my conversion. Thank you for sharing your journey. My journey started at age four and I am now sixty four and have lived a Torah observant life for about 23 years but started searching for the truth at the age of 12. I'm not Orthodox, Conservative, Reform or Karaite. I'm a strange combination Karaite and Messianic. Having read Shem Tov's Hebrew Matthew was helpful and learning Hebrew also made a huge difference in my path of understanding. Plus coming to the knowledge that prior to the teachings of Maimonides it was common knowledge that their would be either two Messiah's or one Messiah that would come twice. I totally agree that the Pauline Epistles are difficult and I choose to NOT focus on those writings as much as the Tanaka, the Hebrew Matthew and Revelation. But I do read from all of it but from the Complete Jewish Bible translation, which does have the books in proper order and written part in English and part in Hebrew. I also read from an interlinear Chumash. I only observe the Feasts Days of YHVH and none of the christian holidays. And I observe Shabbat from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. It's been a wonderful journey that isn't over yet and I continue to learn new things every Torah cycle. It has not come without cost. You learn very quickly that family and friends may be lost or at least that you are branded a heretic or judaizer. I am not accepted in the Jewish community nor in the Christian community, so it's hard to find others to celebrate the Feasts with. But that's fine, I have come to a place in my life that I do not seek the approval of man but that my goal is to walk according to the teachings and instructions of Torah. My Rabbi had to retire due to health issues and now I get most of my teaching from UA-cam believe it or not. But I've got all my books and resources that I've gathered for many years and those are what I hold tight to. I will subscribe to your channel as you seem kind and respectful which is my goal as well. Shavua tov and Shalom!

Thanks this was well articulated and sincere.
    Some questions and observations:
    1. Your definition of New Testament canon can be improved by watching Michael Kruger
    2. The differences in English translations is irrelevant because the original Greek and Hebrew and accessible to us.
    3. What do you think of the Jews using a Greek translation of the scriptures?
    4. Did you learn Hebrew and Greek as Christians? If not, why not?
    5. You need to explain how Jesus spoke of the Law and the Prophets.
    6. Regarding the NT use of the OT there are a ton of books explaining the subject.
    7. How do you deal with Isaiah 53, who is it referring to?
    8. What do you make of Daniel 9:25-27 prophecy that messiah has to be cut off before the destruction of the temple?
    9. The scripture does not teach Sunday as sabbath, it is the Lords Day.
    10. Paul’s teachings are in alignment with Jesus Christ. Paul never taught anyone to break the Law. He said love is the fulfillment of the law.
    11. How does Judaism deal with your own sin? What is the process/event?
    12. Were you baptised and did you take communion?

There were some things mentioned that were incorrect, such as the lineage of Jesus. Mary was also from the tribe of Judah. Also, it is church theology which permits the eating of pork and shellfish not the New Testament among other topics. Nevertheless, some people simply want to convert and that is all that there is.

Thank you for sharing your story., I've been a Christian all my life ( though found that genetically am Jewish ( Ashkenazi and am very Eastern European) but it's all I've ever known. I was baptized Catholic, but grew up in many flavors of Protestantism etc. finished the rest of my classes as an adult to become Catholic. Fast forward to last year ( when I was 47yrs old) and one day I just thought to myself, " Why don't we celebrate Chanukah? Jesus celebrated Chanukah. Why don't we as Christians celebrate it? Then I began asking more questions such as : If Jesus was Jewish and celebrated Jewish holidays, than why don't Christians celebrate these holidays as well? Just recently the verse of Jesus saying that he was not there to abolish the law but to full fill it. Then I was thinking: So why aren't we following Jewish tradition if he wasn't there to change things? I, of course, have so many questions and you both explain things so clearly. I don't hold it against anyone that follows their heart when it comes to searching for truth and having the wisdom to do so. I enjoy your videos and appreciate all you do to make them informative.

@Tracy Have you tried to find answers to your questions?? Have you tried to ask this questions to Priest?? If not then do ask. Because If we ask questions, we should also seek answers to our questions.
