They work the same. You can also use alexa to play, pause and turn up/down your music... "Alexa turn my music to 20%"

I picked the AirPods Pro recently an I’m very happy with them. I’m just not happy about that the new lossless audio on Apple Music is not supported with them. I was considering to switch from Spotify because of that. But maybe I won’t.
