I went to see Roy Ayers last night at the Howard Theater in Washington DC and he still has it @ the age 73 years old! HE IS A MAESTRO still getting it in! I LOVE ROY AYERS HE IS MY FAVORITE ARTIST!
You can never bring back the good old days when the world was full of dreams, fun, and adventure. But, when listening to Roy and some of the other musicians of that era, you can always take your mind back there. We were truly blessed.
This song takes me back to preschool riding in my dad's taxicab in downtown dc with no worry's in the world other than wondering what Saturday cartoons were going to show.

Listen here in Chicago growing up you couldn't get no cooler musically the "R.A"
I love at how all instruments to symphonies were utilized in many of the music tracks of the 70s and before. An era I dream would return. My dad would play this artist and many others music throughout my childhood. He is now gone. I miss my Dad, my Uncle, and the 70s.
Thanks to my father as a child in the 70s for introducing me to Roy Ayers, now 50 years old been a fan ever since. Both our birthday is September 10th. Virgo Love Roy Ayers ♥️

Yes baby!!!!!!! I was in the Englewood area growing up in a foster home. My foster mom couldn't understand why I was so wise for my age!!! On 65th and Green. She didn't know I was a "Highsmith"............
Roy made a name for himself with many during the disco era cutting edgy funky danceable tunes like Running Away, Moving_Grooving, Coffy and Let's Do It. But many ( like myself ) became acquainted with his smooth side like Want You.
Music like this keeps me dating age appropriately. Somehow, I attract younger women who can hand dance and it's nice to feel like you still got it. But once the bar/club is gone and it's time for mellow music, it's like when the 'Last call' lights come on.
When this music was out we owned our own community, Stores, game rooms, record shops,we even had a black owned ace hardware, restaurants, etc, I don’t know what happened!!!
Yes, this was the stuff in Chicago back in the day, riding down Lake Shore Drive on a warm summer night with your lady with the sunroof open and just cruising!
the black light, the beads over the door, the poster of the naked black woman on the wall, the dashiki ,and a bottle of night train wine, you ladies know what i'm talking about.
"NO STRANGER TO LOVE - I WANT YOU" FROM THE VIBRAPHONE MASTER ROY AYERS WAS PLAYED EXTENSIVELY BY ME IN 1980 SUNY PLATTSBURGH, FROM RADIO STATION WPLT TO MY DORM KENT HALL- THIS SONG WAS SO SEXY SMOOTH! LET THIS FLOW ENGULF YOUR SOUL! SIT BACK AND ENJOY!

Music like this keeps me dating age appropriately. Somehow, I attract younger women who can hand dance and it's nice to feel like you still got it. But once the bar/club is gone and it's time for mellow music, it's like when the 'Last call' lights come on.
This one takes me back to the southside of Chicago on those nice summer nights in the 80'S when life was so simple.
