@quadrupleplay I don't understand how anyone with a sense of versatility in metal couldn't like Aaron's growls. They're so primal - raspy and dry. They're a trademark of Isis' sound. Raw and filled with emotion.
That's all I needed to complete the playlist of Wavering Radiant. Title tracks are notoriously hard to search for! Aaron Turner's clean voice has improved so much on this record that it's now probably pleasing to mainstream listeners. The growls are the same as ever, but they should be tolerable to most. What I like about the growls is how their lack of melody turns more attention to the more melodic part underneath. False Light, say at 1:06, does this so well it's a highlight of Oceanic.
