The one advantage of technology today. We get to view these great old programs. No wonder my parents told me "bed time" before turning on the television after dinner. Thanks for posting.
David Jansson was just a once in a lifetime blazing star 💫 💫💫
It's nice to see Gloria Winters, who played Penny in the Sky King series, in a different type of role. She was really beautiful!
I've been that gas station attendant that pumped your gas, checked your oil, checked your tires pressure (kicked your tires), and washed your windshield, to name a few. We had pay at the pump years before debit cards.
You are sorely missed! 😢
Then the corporations decided to get us to to that job for them, so that they could make more money.
Uts amazing, no wonder there was a rumour David's father was Clarke Gable. His voice is is almost identical and his facial expression!
The Fugitive was a great show.
No one else would have been a better Richard Kimble.
RIP, Mr. Jansen.
O'Hara, U S Treasury. Harry Orwell.
David Janssen Fan Here! He & Bill Bixby Are The Only Actors i Know That Starred In Four Different Series. Thank You. (Like #615)
James best a great actor in many roles over many years………
Thanks for the upload! I had never heard of this series before - and I loved the old commercials :D
I can't believe just how young David Jansen is here. !! Thanks for the upload !!
He was young when he died.
A blast from the past!
I listened to many of the Richard Diamond radio shows starring Dick Powell.
I LOVE the old commercials!
Wish I can find the entire series on dvd I have the entire series of the fugitive on dvd both are very good shows
GREAT early TV with a young David Jansen. Thanks for sharing this. Loved the excellence of the story, the acting and the filming.
surprise,I have been drinking this coffee for ages
Good to see you, David. Thank you.
Another great 50s detective was dangerous assignment ……..
David was a heavy smoker and drinker.
His best friend Stuart Whitman was driving past his home and saw the ambulance raced inside but sadly he had passed heart attack in bed around 3am. Very sad great actor and handsome
Too. ❤❤❤
Jannsen had already wrecked his health and good looks during the filming of the "Fugitive" series: he proceeded to live himself to death.
He was found with toxic substances in his body.
Watch Harry O. And, he was 44 when it was made!!
I justlearned of David Janssen´s very early death. What a shame. In this episode he was 26. Hard to believe.
Off-screen, he burned himself out with boozing and round-the-clock partying, nothing like the quiet, polite persona affected by the characters he played on t.v..
Surprisingly, he was Jewish, although his publicity machine obscured his origins. He was buried in the "segregated" Hillside cemetery in L.A..
He was a beautiful man
He's soo young here ahh. I know he died of a heart attack but so does everybody. Your soppose to do physicals everytime yu make a film. Makes me wonder how he was okayed for the next one tho. R.i.p DJ
It's Penny ! "Uncle Sky............."
The first season of "RICHARD DIIAMOND" was offered as a summer replacment for "DECEMBER BRIDE" {Mondays, 9:30pm(et)}

16:01 lights out hero...
, I hate the damn commercials as much as I hated them when these shows were new. I started watching TV in the early fifties and watched commercials expand to take up such a massive chunk of the shows a lot of time you couldn't even make heads or tails of the show by the end of it. It had already started and was well underway by the time this series was produced
22:40 Did ya hear Scott Joplins rag in the background.?
Not sure what is the silliest, the detective series, that cardboard David or the coffee advert.... advert.....
Roscoe p coaltrain as a crook why I never and then he gos to be a crooked cop in Hazzard country 😊😂🎉🎉
Roscoe beko train outta duke's of hazard
He got the brass ring to hell……..
David Jensen A Fugitive In A Richard Diamond Episode
Smoking’ rockets it’s sky king…….
i am sorry for this question. maybe someone will see it. Did or do you feel Nick Nolte character in 48 hours was based off this show or off David Janssen
No, Nick Nolte's character was not based on this show or on David Janssen. :)
Gig young ,also too much booze he won the academy award for best actor for they kill horses doe’t they and soon after passed away……..
..
Young was a severe alcoholic who was fired from Blazing Saddles because he couldn't function. His role was given to Gene Wilder. It's believed by the police that Young killed his wife then himself. Addiction is a terrible thing.
😊
Coffee per la marriso nel de maxwell. In Future Oppenheimer the sec
Lacks the charm and wit of a Blake Edwards radio show of the same name starring Dick Powell.
Powell decided to go in a different direction when the 1956 pilot he produced- starring Don Taylor, and based on a radio script- didn't quite work out to his satisfaction. He believed David Janssen was a better choice to play "Diamond". The fact the series lasted three years proved he was right.
@@fromthesidelines Powell also said "I couldn't hold my stomach in for 39 weeks"
@@fromthesidelines "Enemy Below", a great movie about Tin Cans hunting subs, was directed by Powell, also "The Hunters" which again had Robert Mitchum in the lead role.
@@fromthesidelinesI don't find this version of Diamond as charming as the Powell radio version but it's fine standing alone as entertainment.
Quirky coffee commercials.
im so glad theyre in there
i LOVE 50s coffee commercials
what a treat
Much better than the noisy, jarring, rambunctious style of modern commercials. At least in my opinion.
