So many UA-camrs have such huge egos and have to be the main dude but mat may be the boss he’s totally at everybody else’s level in work and fun.
I read on a forum from 2010 this might be the issue, “Turns out the problem was a seized up oil level sensor and a shorted wire to the instrument cluster.”
You can drain the torque converter (there is a rubber cover on the bottom of the bellhousing which exposes a small plug in the torque converter, you may have to rotate the engine to find it, some 722.9 transmissions had drain plugs which were the later trans) do all this at the same time as you change the filter, remove both cooler pipes and blow out the cooler lines as well this will help the convertor drain as well, the little green tube you can actually just knock it into the transmission sump (usually breaks) which will help drain 99% of the oil, I only use the Merc trans oil it's green in colour just quote the VIN to mercedes dealer, I think the manual states a 6 or 7 litre refill, I always get 8 litres, when you refit the filter and the green oil level tube to the sump, simply pump in about 5 liters of oil, start run for 30 seconds, shutoff pump in the remainder of oil, then start run through all forward and reverse gears, then using your diagnostic tool get up the trans oil temp, I think from memory wait until oil temp is at 45 degrees c, shutdown engine and check the level of the trans sump if oil pours out wait until its just dripping, if no oil pours out add more oil until the oil is just dripping out of sump plug hole. Remember the green tube sets the level of the transmission at 45 Degrees C
If you have the rubber grommet you have a way of draining the convertor, if not pull the two cooler lines out of the trans and run some air pressure through one of the lines a couple of PSI should push all the oil out....................search for How to Drain Oil From Torque Converter // Mercedes here on youtubethis guy shows you exactly where to find it, MERCEDES WIS Doc AR27.20-P-0200-03R if you still do not believe me@@tonyarmstrong-fe1gl

Good video guys. I've got a C63 and I'm going to be doing a transmission service in a few weeks. Have you swapped the injectors out on yours? There's a common issue where an injector can fail in the open position and hydrolock the engine. So a lot of people swap them out as a precaution. I changed mine this week. Glad I did, lots of carbon build up on the old ones and my cars only done about 35000 miles. It's's quite an easy job and bosch OEM injectors are not very expensive. Looking forward to the next video.
Mat, I've watched more of your videos than I can count. It goes without saying that I deeply enjoy your content, but I had to speak up finally just to say that your pops is nothing less than an absolute treasure. What a great, happy, always positive lad. That tube in the drain for gear box is to be removed for draining. Install and fill till it comes out of the hole start car and fill more till it is full. When the fluid stops running out of pan with that tube in place and car goin then it is full of fluid. Its called fill to spill. I use to do exactly what you said. Fill, run car and drain. Usually did that 3 times then put new filter in and filled for final time. Really enjoyed this video. Lots of laughs!!
Mats Dad is legendary with his way in front of the camera. Keep it up fella. And boy yous both laughs are infectious. Genuinely keep it going as it's brilliant...👌🏻👍🏻
6:47 The tube is not for making it hard to empty out the old fluid. It's so you can refill the oil level, to the correct level, so the top of the tube, will let you know, when it's start dripping out, when refilling, you can then install the sump plug again. And yeah, as you said yourself, you should remove the green plastic, with a pick or something, before you undo the sump bolts. And you should drain the oil from the torque converter too.

I turned the engine over at least 4 times with the rubber grommet out and there was no drain in the torque converter guaranteed 😂

I never understood why certain car manufacturers went from making traditional oil dipsticks to having extremely unreliable electric reading systems
Because Engineers live electric Gimmicks creating electric gremlins!
Harder to DIY it
More people will take it to the dealership
