I’m watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲 and I must say I really enjoy your podcast , you guys are unbiased and speak with so much love for the sport and fairness . Blessings
Justin, as a hardcore Jamaican fan you won my respect with how you fought your way back. I also see a different side of you on this program. I love you program and the coach from ‘up de road’ from Jamaica 🇯🇲.
Amazing podcast. I listen to these while I train. Im 31 and started running 2 years ago. My parents are Jamaican and I've always been fast but I never got to do track. My goal right now is 10s. Thank you for all of the stories and insight🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🫡
This is a great podcast. I look forward to most weeks. The Matthew Hudson-Smith interview was great. I want to see another athlete interview once in a while. Vince Anderson was great too.
@@ReadySetGoTL Thank you Guys for the outstanding content, the detailed analysis of the track and field landscape, and the historical perspective of track and field; Thanks 👍👍
I respect the way Gatlin love the sport. I've been noticing that you know all of the athletes names, not just in America but you know all the Jamaican athletes too.
FYI Jamaica's relay teams do NOT practice consistently. But I sure wish they would! Lots of egos and lots of rivalries in Jamaica's track and field, and relay camps are a rarity--that said, all our athletes are not necessarily in one locale where they can put in training sessions year round to achieve optimal results. Some are based locally in Jamaica, some train overseas, while others are in the collegiate/NCAA system; so its always going to be difficult getting everyone together at an ideal time. It is why our relay teams are just basically thrown together at the last moment. I would be generous if I say they get together and practice say, a week before the relays at the World Championships or at the Olympics. The success Jamaica enjoys at the relays can really be traced back to muscle memories from high school and champ days where good baton passes are drilled into the athletes; kudos to our excellent relay coaches at the world events who use the limited time they get with the athletes, prior to the relays, to put the right team on the track and confident that they will perform well, for the most part, once the gun goes off. Nine times out of ten they get it right. Sure wish the powers that be would find a way to have the team/s practice consistently.
This is new favorite podcast. I love track and this podcast provides new insight to athletes , their process and the track & field as a whole. You guys are doing amazing 👏
Thats a great way to speak it, the new Uniforms definitely “missed the mark”. Yes I’m a few years JAM Men’s 4x1 may be a threat with consistency, teamwork and maturation.
The thing with the after the Bolt era it seems as if the kids break into elite speeds earlier than the previous greats but then it seems as if they fail to live up to what we would expect of kids breaking into 9s as teens
My opinion is:- Every athlete have a right to have a dream or goals to aspire but to be obsessed with another athlete timing is another issue: It's ok to love and enjoy the sport but wanting to die for it is ludicrous 😊❤🎉
Who puts oblique to start and run a curve over possible or best curve runner and for sure best starter Blake. Oblique runs straights really well him and Kishane could run either straight because they transition well and have great top end speed
Justin, as a fellow fan, much respect.. if possible, can you please analyse these 2 videos on the next pod… 1. Yohan Blake 19.26 in 2011 200m 2. Jamaica 2011 4x100 world record in Daegu Thanks a lot
Hey team, can you do an athlete specific analyses.. I mean we have the top 5 fastest men alive here. Can we have their top 3 fastest races analysed.. Blake, bolt, gay, Powell and Gatlin.. Will be a dream if all of you got together and did it, but better this than that. Thanks for the great work
QN; Not enough ppl have talked about this, so can you both speculate on which events you think will be taken away by WA as confirmed by CEO Jon Ridgeon (on the Anything but Footy Podcast) from the new Outdoor Global Champs in '26 (which will only have 2 rounds; semi & final) in order to fit its 3 Day Schedule (like World Indoors) & which ones y'all would personally take away? 2:22; NCAA Record's 10.75, Jacious Sears rightfully gets all the attention from the Florida Relays Meet, but Arkansas Freshman Kaylyn Brown's 49.95 400m PB shouldn't be overlooked as well. Her teammates Amber Anning 50.08 PB & Nickisha Pryce 50.13 PB in the same race suggests their 4x4 Team this season could take apart Kentucky's 3.21.93 NCAA Record from '22. In terms of African Sprinters, there's always been the likes of Frankie Fredericks, Francis Obwikwelu, Fasuba, Simbine etc, and now there's a new generation inc Tebogo, Udodi, Favour Ashe, Shaun Maswanganyi, Tarsis Orogot etc. Got JAM M4x1 Order as Ackeem to Oblique to Hudson to Kishane. It's a long Olympic Season esp for European Athletes who've got Euro Champs in addition to World Indoors, World Relays, NCAAs, DL, Continental Tour & Olympic Trials, but a little bummed that a lot of teams won't be at full strength @World Relays :( Also bummed that they're keeping it super simple this yr compared to the last 2 World Relays with no Shuttle Hurdles Relay, 4 × 200m & 2 × 2 × 400m Relay which are fun to watch :( A Sprint Medley Relay (2-2-4-8) would be nice to have as well!
Regarding the talent pool the commenter has to realise America's population is 150 times the size of Jamaica's so the pool will be broader. The percentage of athletes with certain sprint times will (generally) always be higher.
@@Maitland5 good question. America's black population is somewhere around 40 million. Jamaica's population is just over 2 million. So the population is still at least twenty times larger than Jamaica's. No matter how you look at it America will likely always have the advantage there.
No offense put plz Stop talking crap about relay Justin. I have alot of respect for u but Where have u seen jamaica getting time to practicing relay? Isn't usa the team that practice the relays the most and also been having relay camp's? Stop speaking false narrative
Mr Gatlin. Your co host is talking nonsense about the jamaican kit. Puma design Jamaica kit exclusively for jamaica no other, there is no similarities with the others. I think u both should know that, So i dont know what yall taking about. And its really annoying when u talking false
The last few years Jamaica and Bahamas had similar kits different colors from 2004 Jamaica athletes clothes looked similar to others 2012 Jamaican had unique kits but after 2012 say from 2015 and up Jamaica and Bahamas and other countries had the same design but this new kit it’s only Jamaica js

When I saw the new women’s uniform , the first thing that came to mind was yeast infection !
The designers didn’t run this uniform by a focus group ?
