This episode was GOLD. Wallace Spearmon was like that dude at the house party that stepped outside for a breath of fresh air, got to talking and then the entire party became an outside concert with everybody tuning in to his every word😂.
You hit the nail on the head with this one haha
I had no idea Wallace Spearmon was so gregarious and fun!! What a great storyteller!!!
Back then, Wallace was the only US team member Jamaican love😂😂
True 😂❤. We really love Spearmon. We felt his vibe
Ikr 🤣🤣
Ikr. The ONLY dude back in 2007-2019, Degrasse joined the ranks too. We only rocked with those who seemed genuine. I remember those days. Felix got the same love too
Facts
@@vengance27 for real real,
My view of Justin has completely changed since I watched this podcast. Just goes to show everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
I'm with you. Been watching this channel for months now, and totally different mindset and respect for him. This morning I was watching him and his parents. Nuff Respect to the man, one of the greatest.
Same. I was never a JGat fan when he was running, but after watching these vids I’m a big JGat fan!
That lineup up against Nester Carter ,Asafa Powell ,Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt ..Now that’s a RACE !!!
Ya that would have been incredible!
Was Nester faster than Frater?
@@shevyweston5088 yes and a better starter
@@nattydread9193 ok. Thank you..👍
We Jamaicans love Wallace, he was robbed of his 2008 Olympic silver medal in the 200 meters but made up for it with the bronze in the 2009 World Championships fastest 200 meter ever. A friend of Usain is a friend of ours.😎🏁
Why he was robbed?
The rule says that if you run on the line AND IMPEDE ANOTHER ATHLETE will disqualify you from the race. They disqualified Spearmon and Martina from the race and they were way ahead of everyone else in the race. As a Jamaican, I think they saw the friendship and wasn't supporting it.😎🏁
Noah Lyles just sitting out of camera shot listening in on this convo is awesome.
Oh, he's there?
Wallace Spearman was the Only male USA athlete Jamaicans really cheered for.. Gay they like, but Spearman could come to Jamaica and we give a real welcome..lol..lmao
Looved when he vame to party with bolt
Duhh Because he’s light skinned. Y’all wanna look like him
Noah Lyles is the best thing happening to Track right now… You gotta love his zeal & desire to get involved in every endeavor that promotes the sport
Yes, bwoy full of zeal……🎉🎉🎉
🇯🇲🇯🇲 loves wallace!
Yup we sure do 😊 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Big up spearmon from Jamaica! We always rocked with him.
Shoutout to Spearmon 🙏🏾 Nuff Respect Bredda from 🇯🇲
🇯🇲 Always love Wallace our favorite US athlete from the Bolt era
Wallace "I'm not trying to lose my job" Spearmon. Love it. Great guests lately
Wallace and Alyson felix were similar in that they were ‘deceptively fast’. They looked like they were just coasting or cruising but were moving exceptionally fast.
Wallace Spearman is by far one of the most gifted sprinters the U.S has ever produced. Wished he had coaches who knew how to push him to be his best self.
Legend .. I ran in high school with some signed spikes from Wallace.. they never failed me🇧🇸🇧🇸
Love Wallace Spearmon (9.96/19.65/20.10i/31.88i/45.22), would've been an excellent 200/400m sprinter like Allyson Felix & LaShawn Merritt! Kept waiting for him to make that move up :)
No, he's complete he should have went down to the 100m
This is the longest wait, I need that Wallace spearmon podcast now! ASAP! Stop playing with my emotions dawg
Jamaica 🇯🇲 . We love you Wallace Spearman.
Noah in the background just soaking up knowledge 😎
Just listening to these American athletes, makes me have more respect for them, regardless of the rivalry between Jamaica and USA.❤️❤️❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love that take from Justin Gatlin about giving back to sport and also Wallace Spearman telling younger athletes that they have resources out there and a cheat code in former athletes for current athletes to reach out! Loved that take man!!!
Yeah that was my favorite part
This is the best episode so far!!! Love love Wallace! He speaks the truth! Could we have an episode with Bolt and Wallace? That would be gold!
Mic Drop
I want bolt to be on your podcast because this was fun to listen.
let it happen gatlin
@@thangsuut3176it would be good
I don't see Bolt coming on the show. Bolt went on Asafa Powell show because they are friends.

Jamaica 🇯🇲 loves you Spearmon 🫶🏽
Gatlin keep on doing your thing you aren’t just a sprinter but your a fan of the sport keep on speaking your truth much love from 🇯🇲
This platform was much needed; these giving flowers to all time greats, lack of acknowledging the greats, behind the scenes competitive nature beyond track was as rumored.
Justin; I had the pleasure of meeting you and your beautiful family this year (2004).
This episode proved every single word I expressed to you and why Track and Field needed to see more of you.
Wallace; truly left some even great performances out there.
I live T&F everyday; you gentlemen are so correct in the revealing side of business. There is a lot of wisdom not being passed down; not just to the elite; but to the many who embrace athletics.
I often see great former T&F Athletes who are not getting their flowers, I quietly tell them how their greatness has touch me and the thousands of athletes and their parents.
We need the current T&F speaking heads (Alto/Sanya) be less technical and more communication driven for the average fan with their platform.
Just like was stated midway in this episode: many of greats spent most of their childhood and early part of their adulthood in track. They should be given the platform (retirement, USATF conferences) to give an account and promote track way more than what is given.
This was truly GREATNESS and a great start in improving T&F positive platform.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
Train Hard, Eat Right, Hydrate!!!
This is one of y’all’s best interviews
I have a lot of Respect for Justin (The GUN) Gatlin because he is opening up about the world of Athletics and his Competitors. I do have a question mark about Two Athletes and the records they set and their Honesty Flo Jo and Carl Lewis!
nuff respect to you guys....Ready Set Go is as Americans say 'the bomb'. I really enjoy watching your podcasts. Wallace Spearman is a real legend even if he doesn't think he is, and Justin Gatlin, you the man. This is a Jamaican living in England. Keep up the good work
The Olympics should have an oldies but goodies race. That would be lovely😂😂😂😂
Xavier Carter is a Florida High school legend
I was going to school at the UofA in Fayetteville at the time Wallace was showing out in 05. It was definitely something to behold watching him and Tyson run. WPS! Excellent interview, excellent podcast fellas!
A Better Help sponsorship? Yeah this pod is outta here! 🔥📈📈
Growing up Wallace was my favourite athlete! I used to watch the race where he leaves Bolt in the dust on repeat. I had the rows and Saucony's thinking it would help me unlock my lightskin sprinting potential 🤣 It's great to hear you guys reflect on your great careers and give us the behind the scenes of those iconic races I've watched thousands of times
Loved every minute of this interview. The insight from Wallace and his back stories tying Justin, Tyson, Usain are gems.
This Podcast is getting better and better! Lovely episode
Noah Lyles spoke about how athletes are treated in the USA and Wallace make the same point. Jamaican athletes are treated better and after retirement they are still remembered

Wallace, you're right here, Karan Stewart mentioned this, the team can line out the 4x100 Team better than the Coaches. 😂❤
He’s a funny guy, we need him back 😆
Gems. Brooks Johnson was our prep school coach and athletic director. Legends trained on our track
