At the end of the day, when it comes to public exhibitionism: That's all well and good when it's in a controlled environment, but I do think it's reasonable to draw the line at a potential major public health violation. Like it seems strange to me that after COVID, we have to remind people about cholera, E. coli, and others sewage born illnesses.
To Erratic Conteuse: At the beginning of the day, think about blue-printing resources to keep up your physical hygiene: Locate showers and sources of running water. Bring paper napkins and moist wipes, like Wet Ones. Be prepared. Make yourself more cleanly attractive. Increase your odds of magnetizing action to you.
I had a similar situation at work, some guys came to uncIog our cesspit, so, they used the wire, gIoves etc. After they were done, they just left that wire covered with you know what against the waii and they put the gIoves which were smeared with 💩 on the surface where we sit sometimes. One of them even did the work with bare hands so he touched the door handle and some of the stuff we use for work. I spent the whole day wlping and dislnfectlng everything. Where and how these people were raised I dont know, but one thing is for certain, they dont have any common courtesy and cuIture and basic knowledge about how feces can be dangerous, if you dont care about your own heaIth at least do it for other people's sake.
I think the poop guy has a point in that consent to witness what might happen at FSF and consent to be touched are two different things, you shouldn't be groped without your consent anywhere. Even there. But his method of bringing up that point undermined the point itself. He wasn't just creating a situation where people groping him could get shit on them, but also one where people who accidentally bumped into him could. He was creating a situation where he was at high risk of exposing non-consenting people to his bodily fluids which makes the idea that he's making a statement about consent questionable.
Scat is dangerous by nature, so I don't even know why he felt it was appropriate. It's a health risk over the other issues. Most people won't even do scat play.
@@BelindaShortdisability educator and immunocompromised queer coming in to say THANK YOU. I keep thinking about hep and e coli and the people who have medical issues greatly affected by the stuff that is supposed to be kept away from us. I heard an anthropologist say once that the success of an ancient civilization could be calculated based on how well they dealt with their sewage. (Obviously no one mentioned this to Victorian London)
@@Kimmaline Yeah Im always so confused as to why so many ppl forget that feces is a serious biohazard, its isn't just "gross", its dangerous, more so than smthn like urine. Do ppl think we only wash our hands after wiping just bc its gross and stinky?
@@Kimmaline I'll say the quiet part out loud. The Isle of Terfs has failed its people and the people of the world consistently throughout its existence as a colonial power.
Ive seen simulated scat play (using chocolate) and even though it was in a dungeon there was still a warning beforehand. In every irl bdsm space ive been in, actual scat is not allowed nor attempted. I think shit guy was a consent violator.
The absurdity of your comment really boggles me to the point of amusement . You talk of people getting off to the idea of being covered in human excrement but then get angry when someone wants to use actual shit . Why are you this lacking in self awareness ? Do you think just bc the shit is fake somehow makes it ok and not disgusting and degenerate ?
Protesting a thing by doing that thing is not ok. Protesting nonconsensual contact by creating a significant risk of nonconsensual contact is not how one reduces nonconsensual contact.
I could actually get it if it was a targeted effort against the specific people that touched him or something like that. But his "protest" impacts people who aren't even informed on the issue and have nothing to do with him.
To Fullment Jacket 4159: Huh! Complex paragraph. I understand and agree with you. I'd bet if a voluptuous attractive lady were to grope and come on to him, he'd wish he'd grabbed the Dove and be Ivory pure in body and -- Folsom Street spirit and mind!
I went for the first time this year and probably the most “shocking” thing I saw was the kiddie pool for the watersports crowd. Thankfully did not see the scat pig… I have a feeling his statements about it being a protest against nonconsensual touch (a real and serious problem) were a smokescreen. I think he wanted to nonconsensually subject strangers to his fetish, which also carried an elevated health risk.
I've never been, but I agree that if you go you need to expect to see kinks in action. That said, biohazards need to be treated with care. Like if scat is your thing, you probably are very conscious of your health in that regard. But you can't reassure everyone at a massive street fair of that fact. It's gonna come off as a safety issue. And fresh off a pandemic that left a lot of people immunocompromized, that's just not it.
No matter how healthy you eat, your feces always carries risk of disease to other people. So exposing people in public in never okay, even if you try to explain yourself. Not to mention that people didn't consent to touch or smell your feces, even if it was sterile.
Scat people are not necessarily safe about it, unfortunately. This story is just more evidence of that. And there really isn't a safe way to expose people to human feces en masse. It's an oxymoron
I think the line should always be drawn where health and safety is concerned and everyone involved has not consented to risk either of those things. People just wanted to go out, wear some leather and enjoy being surrounded by like minded folk, not potentially catch an illness.
Keep fluids and biological debris to yourself, otherwise go for it. That would be my take anyways. The reason is because you don't want to accidentally get someone sick or an std/sti. Not to mention that visual consent is one thing, physical and olfactory (smelling) consent is another. Just like it's rude for someone to put on a bunch of overly strong perfume.
I'm Autistic and have comorbid OCD too, which together makes my obsessions, compulsions, and intrusive thoughts hell to deal with. If someone were to bump into me in public covered in feaces, my entire mental health would crumble. I dont know how I would be ok after that. I've been housebound due to how bad my mental health is, that would set me back probably forever. I feel like what this guy did completely undermined what he said was the reasoning behind it. I think hes just into scat play and wanted to engage with his kink in public.
@@Desiludildodo you think everyone going to folsom is signing up for having sm else’s shit on them? not everyone has the same kinks and that can be rlly disturbing for someone..
@@loveinstars MIND YOU, I am not into scat nor I think it should be allowed in a public setting like Folsom. Reiterating what Kat Blaque said, Folsom is prone to all kinds of kinks and fetishes to happen, whilst being immensely crowded. If this person has comorbid OCD and their ‘entire mental health would crumble if they bump into people that trigger them’ then definitely Folsom is NOT for them.
@@Desiludildo I don't think you're hearing OP's point. This would be negative for 99.9% of people to experience, so it's relevant to most of us. Them sharing their feelings and condition gives insight to their more unique experience. It seems pretty clear to me they aren't the type to go, them having an imagination isn't bad, (unless you want them to go) and your gatekeeping is inappropriate. The reason you had to state you weren't into scat is because you sound more interested in defending someone sexually abusive over someone dealing with mental health stuff.
@@Desiludildoyou can be as accepting as you want of blood play but, everyone's still going to be pissed if you walk around in a dense crowd holding out used needles. In that case and the Scat case you're creating a health risk. A serious health risk potentially of transmitting pathogens. Especially for those with extra risk factors for serious illness. Your duty to keep other people safe during play does not dissapear when there are more people involved.
I could be wrong but I think it is clear that by being there you consent to SEEING anything. That doesn't mean consent to any touching or so on. Like no groping or touching others without concent (verbal concent is best) or becoming a biohazard that can easily accidentally touch others. Like kinks being played out shouldn't forcing anything of any passerbyes at the faire, other than observation. So long story short, same thing litterally 90% of the other comments are saying
I kinda disagree...if in the rules it is stated that certain acts are not allowed or permitted and then doing these things is a violation to people's consent. For example everyone can be okay with seeing those things that aren't allowed to be exhibited but there might be some who DON'T. And that can be extremely violating. The whole foundation of BDSM is consent and feeling safe in your own space. I was victim to non consensual voyeurism and it sucks! Don't get me wrong you are at an event where showcasing some kinks or KINK in general is allowed and that's totally valid I mean why are you even there if you don't want to possibly see this. But everything has it's limits and it's rules and I think that should be respected for the safety and well-being of others :) Edit: Grammar
I personally do find it to be a violation. You mentioned how leather gained popularity with those of us seeking safe sex. I think it's a violation due to it being a nonconsensual health risk. And let's not ruin anyone's brand new clean leather! 😂
I think the fair should be as upfront as possible at informing people coming in. They already have to greet everyone because of ID checks, they could hand a flier or have a QR code listing several things a person could see, and tell them that by entering they are consenting to seeing that. If they don’t consent then they should leave. They should also definitely make it a rule to not have poop??? That’s not just about people feeling grossed out, that’s a health issue because poop carries a lot of disease. It’s also reasonable to have a fair where everyone must consent to seeing things to enter but it is not reasonable to expect people to consent to the possibility of getting shit on them.
Aside from the shit thing: FSF technically has completely unenforced rules about no public sex of any kind due to legal concerns. But the event organizers, the authorities, and I would hope anyone who knows enough to even go to the event should know what goes on there even just googling Folsom. Though I think the fact that they do have those rules makes it hard to inform people of what they may end up seeing.
Covering yourself in 💩 in a crowd is never okay unless that whole crowd consented to being around a biohazard. Groping is not okay either, but I don’t think 💩 is the way to deal with it
Especially when you run the risk of just accidentally bumping into scat man!! He could have used glitter or something which would have still gotten on other people but it at least wouldn't be a biohazard/clothes ruiner (would be pissed if I was dressed up all sexy for a festival and got my outfit ruined w literal shit) I'm inclined to believe he was just covering his ass after getting kicked out and didn't actually care about consent
My dad immigrated to the US in the 80s and he loved in the mission. he was like 7 and his mom saw the sign promoting the Folsom street fair and she didn't have the best English at the time so she though it was like a family friendly street carnival and she brought my dad and his siblings to the Folsom Street Fair! they were shocked AF but that was their "welcome to San Francisco" moment lol
Wait, you're telling me that not all gay men are dressed in leather and fisting each other in the streets?! How am I supposed to know who is gay and who is not? /s
It's funny that would say that. My friend just got back from Folsom and says he was surprised that it wasn't as wild and crazy as he was expecting lol. He's into using ppl as urinals so maybe he's not the best judge tho 😅
im so okay with the exhibitionism and crazy scenes one might come across at an 18+ ticketed faire, but I personally draw the line at feces... as Nico's Aesthetics says it's a biohazard lol
Yeah.. If that’s your thing, that’s fine and you can do that consensually with your sexual partner. But in a public space, it’s a health hazard. Even if it’s an event themed around sex, it’s still not something to do in public for various reasons.
I'm just confused about like.... was he let in like that? Did he do that after entering the fair? That's the question I'm left with. Cuz obviously he shouldn't have been let in if he was already covered in it, but also I could see someone who is just doing their job checking IDs to not even want to confront the situation. I certainly wouldn't want to.
wait, the gentleman in question was "in protest" meaning he wasn't even part of the organization itself. sounds more like typical a-hole behavior and he made it everyone else's issue. also 10% consent is a wildly worrying concept
Wrong video to watch while I'm trying to have dinner. But yeah, that's definitely a violation of consent. There was obviously no discussion about personal space, safety, or cleanliness between him and the other event goers. Not only is there the risk if someone bumps into him, but also if it falls off him while he's walking around, or the smell travels through the air, or he touches objects that are going to be handled by others.
Having attended a while back, I definitely think you're consenting to seeing things by going, but yeah, feces brings it to a whole new level because that's bodily fluids. Like, sometimes people bleed when they get flogged for a long time, but I feel like that stays more controlled than feces (not to mention less of a sensory attack). It's SUPER crowded there and I definitely bumped into people, so I would have been pissed off if I ran into someone and got poop on myself. I remember wondering if the crowds had died down since covid , but it sounds like it's still quite happening.
This was very informative for us outsiders who wouldn’t even know about FSF or that it’s separate from Pride. BDSM is my Mom’s community and I don’t ever want to run into her kink friends or partners, but I’m happy the rest of the world has a healthier and more managed way to see and express all these things that’s not stumbling across their stepdad’s basement equipment. :)
You know, you can make a point about intentional groping with a substance like glitter or body paint, too. Like the justification is post-hoc. It's what he'd have said if he was thrown out for doing that. I don't think we need to discourse or have a new set of rules because of this one dude. Like yeah, people can do stuff that's boundary-pushing, and they have every right to complain about finding themselves on the wrong side of the boundary. They just have to respect it when it's laid out for them.
i only just started watching and i paused to google Folsom street fair, and i am so intrigued. wishing i was american so i can check it out, even though im not in any sense connected to the bdsm community looks so fun and love filled, i love the look of leather crafts and bdsm art and expression of self with nudity and sexuality
If he's that desperate to wear brown at Folsom then he can at least set up somewhere with a barrier and sanitizing stuff for when he's ready to leave or sumn. 😭 Why's he gotta be walking around? WITHIN BUMPING DISTANCE no less?? Absolutely vile 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
It's funny to me that that straight guy thinks public sex acts are somehow the domain of only gay people. Like, I've been to music festivals, concerts etc. that were NOT kink-themed and caught straight people doing the nasty in semi-public or public areas.
I always wonder if the people who say these things, "look at what they're doing at pride"/ "look at what they're doing at a drag show"/ "look at what they're doing at Folsom"/ etc. I wonder if they are actually implying they would go to these events if they didn't do all the things they're complaining about. Or if (most likely) they're just bitching about an event they'll never go to nor wanted to go to. I don't like baseball games and sports bars or frat parties, but I don't feel the need to comment on every thing I personally object to because no one is making me go those places or to even watch football. I only had a passing knowledge about Folsom through porn and social media but I didn't really know what it is and all the details until Kat made this video. I feel that's something you have to seek out. If your online searches are heartstopper, Bluey, and Stardew Valley, I doubt you'll accidentally come across a nude, leather fetish street fair. People need to be actively searching for this stuff to even find all this, you won't see it advertised in between jeopardy. Also, I don't know if it's the hair, the lipstick, or the leather which indicates will absolutely crushing simping men, but I desperately want to see Kat dressed as Lady Dimitrescu.
I know feces are disgusting and full of germs, but all I could do when I heard you say that was bust out laughing 😂😂😂😂. That's just too ridiculous and too nasty. Definitely that's a link to do in private...... I was just in San Francisco last week and I was surprised to see naked men walking around The Castro....mostly because I didn't know it was legal to walk around naked (or maybe it's not, who knows)....but I wasn't offended or mad. Just surprised....it was kinda like..."oh, I guess this is what they do here." My husband and I proceeded to enjoy the neighborhood, patron and purchase packets and such from the sex shops, and drink at the 440. I had a great time. People have too much main character energy and center themselves too often. I don't understand why people get mad about pride and other events. Just don't go if you don't like it. TF? That's like going to a coffee shop and then having an attitude with them for not selling smoothies when it is a COFFEE shop because you don't like coffee. Why go to a coffee shop if you don't like coffee? It's not a consent violation to see something you don't like in a place where you can expect to see things you don't like....that's just my opinion
I'm not in the kink scene myself. Perhaps my opinion is one to be taken with a grain of salt as I'm not someone who would be attending an event like this anyway. But personally, I'm confused about the fair's rule on sexual activities. It says they don't allow it, but people seem emboldened to break that rule for whatever reason. Are they not bothering to enforce it? If not, why bother putting it on the website. A newbie would see that rule and think they are safe to come to the event, if sexual stuff is not something they want to see. Just my opinion! I'm a recent discoverer of your channel Kat, and I have been enjoying your perspective on things! I am a cis white monogamous woman and you are teaching me a lot :)
Scat man was kicked out of the fair, for example. Many activities there would be explicitly sexual in most contexts, but kind of skirt that rule at Folsom. Sexual activities as such are allowed at the fair, but the organizers must also abide by California's laws on public sex, so there is a grey area as it's in some ways both a private event as well as a limited public event. Particularly things like flogging, bondage, rope play, whips, spanking, as well as perhaps shockingly to some people....the inflatable pool filled with piss for people to splash about in, and other activities. HOWEVER, performing any kinds of explicit oral sex or anal/vaginal sex outside at the street fair, likely including that man being fisted for example, is typically moderated and will result in you being asked to leave. Why do people feel emboldened to break that rule? Well, mainly 2 reasons. The first being that for some people the legal difference between say 'consensually touching another person's breasts or flaccid penis for a moment' and 'bending over and actually giving a blowjob or its equivalent' and 'affixing clothes pins to a strangers nipples', etc, are not clear. It is very unlikely that people engaging in consensual groping and similar activities are going to be seen as 'having public sex against the rules' and asked to leave. What is and isn't explicitly "having sex" can vary from person to person, with some exceptions. Mainly people publicly having penetrative sex is moderated. But so is any kind of blood or scat play which realistically two people doing that isn't against the law, but it is against the rules of the fair. So I'll again highlight that some people feel emboldened to push the boundaries or ignore the rules because of the grey area. Some people skip reading over the rules and assume it's a free for all. You might get away with putting someone's genitals in your mouth briefly, but start getting into it and trying to make someone orgasm and you will be asked to take your activities somewhere private and indoors or then leave. You might catch photos of activities that are explicitly forbade because a small crowd quickly gathering to block of easy viewing access for 60 seconds is enough to get a photo or clip before being disciplined. But like I am pretty sure there are indoors areas nearby for people to do those things--don't take my word though I've never been to the fair myself. Finally, not to cast any shade, but I doubt some of the organizers and attendees really CARE all that much about the expression of California laws against public sex acts at an event that explicitly is for the celebration of BDSM, kinks, and unusual forms of sexual expression. However, the rules are enforced. When people misuse images from Folsom of someone breaking the rules to make a political point or sweeping generalization about queer people... it is weird to me. It's like...people aren't allowed to use drugs at bars and clubs and concerts but they feel emboldened to do so and often get away with it because of the darkly lit and loud party environments where people are drinking that make policing all drug use difficult. Coincidentally many establishments turn a blind eye to attendees at a concert smoking pot, but it's not always worth the risk of getting kicked out or fined and losing your ticket money. Take your joint to a designated outdoor smoking area at a concert or club and it's unlikely ANY staff will even care. Of course, people are disciplined for drug use/contraband at concerts and clubs all the time. Folsom is just that, it's similar. Does that make sense?
Anyway, there is no reason that anyone should be exposing others to scat without consent. If consent is the issue, why force non consent on other goers? Even in BDSM circles, it's something you have to ask permission to do. It's not about looks even, it's an actual health risk. I'd like to note that I am a sex worker and I also admin a sex work site and I've been part of the BDSM community off and on for 20 years.
i don’t think it matters if it’s his kink or not, you can’t be exposing people to a biohazard like that. there’s a world of difference between seeing people do a scene near you and being physically exposed to something that may make you sick
Damn I would have been so cool to see you there. But I did see my first crush/best friend from elementary school the moment I took my pants off for an ass pic and that was pretty great. 😂 Another highlight for me was talking to an older man who had been going for 30 years and told us about the fair's history and evolution from his point of view. So fascinating and a reminder of how valuable it is to listen to elders in the queer community!
I feel the same about Vampire Knight Requiem. I am way to squeamish to try BDSM for myself but I love the aesthetic when it comes to fictional properties.
Lmao I saw scat pig this year too and I was mostly concerned about how it looked like he was whipped before the shit got smeared. He essentially put shit all over his opened wounds. Men lol
The whole “Gay men are so disgusting for having sex in public!” sentiment really angers me. I see it a lot in discussions about cruising too, and it feels really homophobic because straight people have sex in public all the time too. When that happens the sentiment is “Wow those guys are gross” at worst. But when gay men do it suddenly it’s a moral failing of the community as a whole
and even though it-s also an issue with straight men, gay men do get villainized in a more systemic way for it. but if you dare complain about how this issue is also present in straight men all of the sudden its "not all men!"
Just gotta say, during the Nebula plug, I love the fact that you put a remix of the Cantina Band in the background. Ik that it's off topic, but as someone who has autism and ADD who's also been a huge Star Wars fan for 20 years now (I'm 22M), it just made my inner child so happy 😊
Idk, I kinda get the sense that you can efficiently convey the message "you shouldn't touch someone, sexually or otherwise, without their consent" without also jeopardizing peoples' well-being and also STINKING. Apart from that, complaining about people doing (illegal!!!) sex acts in public in a BDSM event kind of gives me the same energy as going to a college party and being outraged about illegal!!! pot smoking. lmao
The one thing about the “public displays of affection” is that if someone wanted to shut the whole thing down they could use that as ammo from a legal standpoint
Folsom has been on my bucket list for a long time. I genuinely hope poop-dude gets banned. If he'd bumped into me, there would've been some non-sexual non-consensual "touching," in response to that. Not okay. Ever. Most of the dungeons I've been in when there's some form of edge play, someone (usually a DM who has approved to monitor the scene) will go out of their way to get consent from literally everyone in the dungeon. "We're gonna be doing a X scene. Are you okay with seeing this?" It's also usually done in a side room, so anyone who wants to avoid it can, and they're told in advance where the scene will be so they don't have to see it.
Another topic I have absolutely no interest in. But gave it a chance because of Kat. Can't necessarily say I'm better off for it. But I am more informed 😂 It was definitely worth my time.
Really appreciate you making this video! I was there (just happened to be in the city for fun that weekend) and it was definitely an intense event! I was so grateful for the experience and that an event like this exists, even if I didn’t stay long. I also went mostly for the vending 😂
I've done some extensive travel in Europe and in the US, and what I've noticed is that I usually feel most comfortable at leather bars. I'm actually not really into guys wearing all leather, but I just enjoy the vibes and people being open to kink in general. Thanks also for sharing your thoughts on Folsom. 👍🏼
i feel like #2 guy was way out of line, that's a health hazard. you don't need a wet wipe, you need like, an antimicrobial scrub with hot water. not okay at all. as for the other sexual stuff, the sense I'm getting is that this fair is essentially an outdoor play party so like... yeah i half agree. when you go to a play party you consent to see any and all acts except what event organizers explicitly ban (certain types of edge play). though this isn't actually a play party. i feel like the street fair should do a better job addressing this since i can understand a first time visitor being shocked if they look at the website and see its banned and show up and its everywhere. if ppl know what to expect then it's fully informed consent.
when it comes to bodily fluids thats not safe unless its private. that can be a biohazard and dangerous to someone with mentals reasons (like myself im autistic and im very overwhelmed by contamination)
I would probably be the guy to go to folsom street fair because I do love the freedom of expression at folsom street fair, like there is a lot of gnarly stuff but the most important thing is that all of it is definitely consensual and if it is not you can usually tell, although I am the guy who got the DVD of a documentary called Kink Crusaders and it was all about Mr International Leather and to me in all honesty I like seeing people express themselves in that manner, like I would definitely love to have a dom and be like a zentai pup at folsom street fair but too bad I basically live on the other side of the world.
I wouldn't care but if I bumped into that person completely unintentionally I would be pissed internally pissed but mad nonetheless! Imagine getting pink eye from that or some other kind of illness if you had a skimpy outfit then had to brush up against someone just because space is limited in some areas? Not to mention the smell GORWL
Tons of people have already said what I'm about to say but yeah. It's not necessarily an issue of seeing kink happening at the kink fair, it's more about the fact that at a crowded place like that you're bound to bump into people regardless and because of that it's a very uncontrolled environment for that kind of play. It makes it a legitimate public health hazard to everyone there. There's a reason we don't have chamber pots we dump into the streets anymore... this guy could have legitimately made people sick, especially anyone there who might be immunocompromized. Not to mention the smell probably being a massive turn off and day-ruining for tons of people at an event that's supposed to be fun and exciting for as many people as possible.
I never heard of the Folsom Street Fair or any type of public BDSM event. And I find it hilarious that some new or more sensitive attendees are shocked to see "gnarly" activities or crazy sex acts. LOL. What these newer or more sensitive attendees need to stop and ask themselves are these questions. #1. Am I comfortable being in crowds where there's going to be naked strangers sprinkled though out the street? #2. If I see "gnarly" it's happening in front of me, what's a healthy way for me to respond? Walk away, take a break from the event or leave? #3. If I am over on comfortable with the event I should explore why? Is it not just for me? And sweetie all of those are valid. I like BDSM aesthetics but I don't see myself going to Folsom. LOL for me personally that's too hardcore 😅 and that's okay we all have different thresholds. 👍
It seems like if you don't do much research it can be complicated, I only read their faq and in my particular case, I only would have a problem with actual s*x happening and in their faqu they say it is prohibited but apparently it is not enforced, so if I went only by the site, I would be surprised and then I would just leave and not go again, because it isn't for me.
My husband and I went to Folsom Street Fair couple of times and we went to the San Jose friends which was also pretty freaking awesome. I'm glad it's back up and running after covid❤
i've been aware of my kinks and wanting to get involved w the leather community and like in those spaces for a bit, i've certainly never been to anything like this but it seems really cool! but that being said.. ugh ok i really do want to be charitable to other people's kinks bc like, this is leather we're talking about, we're all a bit gnarly but like... holy fucking shit is this another deal. like oh my god i think i'd get sick if i bumped into someone who got FECES on me. like yeah i realize everybody has their thing but like. no. noooo. no.
idk cleaning public toilets has desensitized me to poop... lowkey wonder if more people are into scat the way they get shit all over every surface of public bathrooms
The way I was praying (PRAYING?!?!) for it to turn out it was Nutella or something. And then I was twice as mad cause then I thought about god. Fk that man fr.
Your videos are very informative, that's what I love about you and you channel. While I'm not in the BDSM community, I am very curious and always try to understand those kinks and it's cultures
If the poo man had done it in a way where other people accidentally bumping into him wasn't an issue, I honestly would be fine with it. Like yass performance art, yass caca-vant garde, yass giving us 2013 Gaga Artrave. Honestly bring poo man to a runway in Paris and I think he'll fit right in.
Yeah I'm not interpreting shit guy in good faith. You rub doo doo dookie butter on your chest and say its because "people grabbin my nuts without consent" like nah bro, especially after that shit he said. There is a base level assumption that if you go out in public you're not gonna see someone with truffle butter on their body, especially not someone doing it with sexual intent
Well you also don't expect in normal public places to have sex. Or be naked. The problem is that you cannot control for bumping. In a crowded place that's not like groping. It happens. You still don't expect shit to be on you. Since that's against your consent.
I think if it were just people looking at him and he could be 100% sure that no one would be forced to come into direct, physical contact with him, it'd be fine. But at a crowded festival like this you can absolutely not be sure of that.
I have no experience with this type of faire, but if the organizers have banned sexual acts as a visitor I have then not consented to see someone getting fisted or getting shit on me, I have consented to seeing nudity, seeing fetish gear, toys and seeing non-sexual bondage acts and other things the event website informs me on. So I certainly do not think it's okay especially as organizers have explicitly prohibited sex to force people to be part of that type of exhibitionist kink. You can't consent if you haven't been informed and you certainly haven't consented if the official source the event organizers say that this behaviour is prohibited. Sure its a good idea to research other unofficial sources on what going on at the event, the same way it's a good idea to research if the neighbourhood you want to rent an apartment in has a high crime rate, but that doesn't make the act in itself okay. If the organizers explicitly at entrances and on their website wrote that this faire allows public sexual acts and the spreading of bodily fluids (hopefully in designated areas so people not into that can still visit but that is up to the organizers) then yeah people who enter have given consent to see and experience that. Just follow the event's rules.
I very much agree that the headliner here was being edgy & tacking on some nonsense to give it a fig-leaf of a justification. This is a man who wanted to do scat play at Folsom first, & gave it a flimsy "but protesy, but consent" excuse. If he really were concerned w/ consent first & foremost, he would have cordoned himself off out of respect for the other attendees. The same way that Folsom itself is cordoned off from the main streets. & that brings me to the issue that I frankly think is more pressing than one guy being inconsiderate at Folsom: That rhetoric of consent & trauma is used to prop up arguments rooted in disgust that aim to dismantle public displays of nonstandard/marginalized sexuality. I can't tell you how many times I've talked w/ ppl more vanilla than I abt Folsom whose arguments against it were "Well it's fine that they do it, but it needs to be in a cordoned-off section so I don't have to see it in the street" when Folsom is *already cordoned off & already restricted to consenting adults* . Quite frankly ime, vanilla ppl w/ kids are more likely to try & catch kink-positive spaces in order to gawk at them than kink communities are to ever seek out nonconsenting families. I'm just so deeply disillusioned w/ the ways progressive & pseudo-progressive discourse falls back to sex-negativity & policing expressions of human sexuality. So often "What abt sex-repulsed asexual ppl?" or "What abt victims of sexual trauma?" aren't asked in good faith; they're just a mask of progressive rhetoric covering up an anti-progressove, sex-negative impulse. Do some sex-positive spaces like Folsom (& esp like circuit parties) have a problematic culture of noncomsensual touching? Yes. Are the needs of sex-repulsed queer ppl sometimes at odds w/ the needs of kinky queer communities? Yes. But the scat pig at Folsom '23 was just using "consent" as an excuse to justify his scat exhibition. & When pseudo-progressives clutch their pearls at "What abt queer kids at Pride?" or "What abt sex-repulsed ppl at Pride?", it's just as much a pretext. Except when the Folsom scat pig is nasty & inconsiderate, it only affects ppl at Folsom. When pseudo-progressives are sex-negative, it empowers fascists to destroy all queer lives & communities.
I wish there was this type of fair here in Montreal too!! I think it’s much better to give people a relatively safe space to do that public stuff instead of having them in our regular streets or even some cruising spots in places where regular people walk their dogs and such… It’s so much better to have them do it at the fair. But I think we can all agree no scat in crowds please 😂
Thats where i am too. Immediately thought cholera.

I'll say the quiet part out loud.
I think shit guy was a consent violator.
this, never been to a club or party where it was allowed, because of the high risk not just to the people involved. it's just not ok
The absurdity of your comment really boggles me to the point of amusement . You talk of people getting off to the idea of being covered in human excrement but then get angry when someone wants to use actual shit . Why are you this lacking in self awareness ? Do you think just bc the shit is fake somehow makes it ok and not disgusting and degenerate ?
that is a WILD sentence 😭😭😭😭
Protesting a thing by doing that thing is not ok. Protesting nonconsensual contact by creating a significant risk of nonconsensual contact is not how one reduces nonconsensual contact.
Reminds me of Cuties. 🤮
I could actually get it if it was a targeted effort against the specific people that touched him or something like that. But his "protest" impacts people who aren't even informed on the issue and have nothing to do with him.
@@Angi3_6I literally came here to say that 😂

@@Angi3_6uh no. Y’all are obsessed with Cuties but have never seen it. It’s annoying
Haha I actually didn’t see that pool this year! God I missed a lot I guess
No public biohazard play is a simple expectation. I’m sure that a fair famous for its role in AIDs advocacy would agree.
There’s a level of irony in having this conversation with Covid still circulating, but we’ll save that convo for another day.
@@heffawtf150 true!!!
I think the line should always be drawn where health and safety is concerned and everyone involved has not consented to risk either of those things. People just wanted to go out, wear some leather and enjoy being surrounded by like minded folk, not potentially catch an illness.
Yeah I don't want to go out and get cholera or densentary.
I hope people were wearing masks to prevent covid spread for the same reasons you stated.
Would you be the type of person to go to Folsom though ?
@@Desiludildodo you think everyone going to folsom is signing up for having sm else’s shit on them? not everyone has the same kinks and that can be rlly disturbing for someone..
@@loveinstars MIND YOU, I am not into scat nor I think it should be allowed in a public setting like Folsom. Reiterating what Kat Blaque said, Folsom is prone to all kinds of kinks and fetishes to happen, whilst being immensely crowded.
But everything has it's limits and it's rules and I think that should be respected for the safety and well-being of others :)
Edit: Grammar
I did not get ID checked lol

I'm just confused about like.... was he let in like that? Did he do that after entering the fair? That's the question I'm left with. Cuz obviously he shouldn't have been let in if he was already covered in it, but also I could see someone who is just doing their job checking IDs to not even want to confront the situation. I certainly wouldn't want to.
wait, the gentleman in question was "in protest" meaning he wasn't even part of the organization itself. sounds more like typical a-hole behavior and he made it everyone else's issue. also 10% consent is a wildly worrying concept
he definitely was an a-hole in more ways than that
Wrong video to watch while I'm trying to have dinner.

He could have used some sort of effects makeup too but no he had to do the worst way 😭
It's funny to me that that straight guy thinks public sex acts are somehow the domain of only gay people. Like, I've been to music festivals, concerts etc. that were NOT kink-themed and caught straight people doing the nasty in semi-public or public areas.
Those straight people should be stopped as well. This shit is disgusting.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been under the illusion that Burning Man isn’t just as bad as Folsom
Thank you for all of your content. I was a NYC teen in the 80s and this makes me notalgic.

The whole “Gay men are so disgusting for having sex in public!” sentiment really angers me. I see it a lot in discussions about cruising too, and it feels really homophobic because straight people have sex in public all the time too. Idk, I kinda get the sense that you can efficiently convey the message "you shouldn't touch someone, sexually or otherwise, without their consent" without also jeopardizing peoples' well-being and also STINKING. Apart from that, complaining about people doing (illegal!!!) sex acts in public in a BDSM event kind of gives me the same energy as going to a college party and being outraged about illegal!!! pot smoking. lmao
The one thing about the “public displays of affection” is that if someone wanted to shut the whole thing down they could use that as ammo from a legal standpoint
the lighting in this vid is so soft and moody ❤️
But I am more informed 😂 It was definitely worth my time.

as for the other sexual stuff, the sense I'm getting is that this fair is essentially an outdoor play party so like... yeah i half agree. when you go to a play party you consent to see any and all acts except what event organizers explicitly ban (certain types of edge play).
though this isn't actually a play party. i feel like the street fair should do a better job addressing this since i can understand a first time visitor being shocked if they look at the website and see its banned and show up and its everywhere. if ppl know what to expect then it's fully informed consent.
So my whole life I thought this happened in Germany for literally no reason! So educational 😂
It does. There’s Folsom Berlin
You giggling about the poop jokes is the cutest sh*t ever. 😂 Happy birthday (it's my birthday month too)
The intro 😭
when it comes to bodily fluids thats not safe unless its private. that can be a biohazard and dangerous to someone with mentals reasons (like myself im autistic and im very overwhelmed by contamination)
3:25 OMG GIRL YOU LEWK GWOOOOODT!
I can't wait to go someday, I've had friends play Folsom parties but I've never been myself. Bucket list!
Thank you, very insightful. I do some light bdsm but I don't think the gnarly stuff is for me, but each to their own.
I have been to FSF several times. I liked the outfits! the music and the beer :) I miss SF.
Kat i love this lip color and eye look on you! Im in agreement with you, thats too much. I really do wanna go some day though.
My husband and I went to Folsom Street Fair couple of times and we went to the San Jose friends which was also pretty freaking awesome. I'm glad it's back up and running after covid❤
i've been aware of my kinks and wanting to get involved w the leather community and like in those spaces for a bit, i've certainly never been to anything like this but it seems really cool! but that being said.. ugh ok i really do want to be charitable to other people's kinks bc like, this is leather we're talking about, we're all a bit gnarly but like... holy fucking shit is this another deal. like oh my god i think i'd get sick if i bumped into someone who got FECES on me. like yeah i realize everybody has their thing but like. no. noooo. no.
This was far more than I expected to hear about folsom this year.
"Live at Folsom Street Fair" is my favorite Johnny Cash album
idk cleaning public toilets has desensitized me to poop... lowkey wonder if more people are into scat the way they get shit all over every surface of public bathrooms
I love your uncomfortable yet cheeky giggle! 😂
happy to see the Nico shoutout!!
Tbh his explanation gives very made it up on the spot later lol. But I’m sure he gets groped
We appreciate your insights on this. I can tell you can articulate your thoughts clearly
I knew exactly what you were referencing in the title and HAD to click lmaoooo
Folsom street faire sounds so interesting and i found out there's a folsom down under here in aus so i might have to make a trip for that next year
Really smart title. Made me giggle when I realized.
I think if it were just people looking at him and he could be 100% sure that no one would be forced to come into direct, physical contact with him, it'd be fine. But at a crowded festival like this you can absolutely not be sure of that.
Love your giggles and laugh.
it’s a Ryan Murphy Ordeal… LOL
You look amazing thus vid, brown hair suits you sm ❤
I’m sooooooo glad your talking about this 😭
14:25 I skipped straight to this part without watching the rest of the video. Wild.
LOOOOOOL
Pewp? Uh, newp.
Piedmont Boutique is LIFE.
I would have freaked out at the poop-man - nope!
I believe if he’s not ok with the environment and what happens there, his @ss should have stayed home!
i have ocd and if i bumped into that guy i would have had a panic attack. and also vomited
I live in NJ. I an event like that happened on the east coast, I’d go.
