I’ve gotten this root perm done before and it was amazing the first month or so but looked awkward as it started growing out because my roots would be straight then I’d have a bit of tiny waves where the perm was. So although it was a root perm, I ended up with a “side of head” perm a few months in. 😂 Also good to note that the permed section will be more brittle compared to the rest of your hair if you do decided to bleach your hair whilst the perm grows out, so be careful of breakage! ☺️☺️

I have been taking keratin treatment for my hair for last 2 years and it changed my hair from frizzy and unruly to naturally soft hair. Best part of this treatment is it doesn't make you hair straight but allows it to have the natural shape be it curl or wavy.. Just more manageable. Also it lasts upto 3 months depending on how well you take care of your hair.

I agree with you on this part. I always dry my hair upside down and it gave me so much volume. Although maybe the logic behind this treatment is so you wouldn't have to do that everytime you'd dry your hair. But honestly, the changes weren't that drastic considering she had it professionally done :c maybe this is one of those treatments that take a few weeks before noticeable results would kick in? But she did mention that the effects would only be subtle on people who have flat hair :c

My hair is pretty darn fine but I get a lot of fullness and lift at the roots using some cheapie Garnier root spray when I wash my hair and I dry and style with a cheapie (like $25) Revlon wand style dryer that comes with concentrator and round brush attachments.
I spray my roots with the Garnier stuff, then I try to let my hair air dry awhile. While still somewhat damp, I blow dry with the concentrator attachment aimed at my roots, running my fingers through the roots of my hair to increase the lift.
When my roots are dry and the rest of my hair almost dry, I stand up & put a metal round brush attachment on my dryer and section off a 3 x 1" section of hair at the crown of my head. I put the brush attachment at the root and pull the dryer straight up through the section of hair, from root to ends, concentrating at the root. When dry, I quickly wrap the section of hair around a large velcro roller - I work quickly so the hair is still hot or warm as it's wrapped around the roller.
Do two or three more sections like that, working toward the front of your head. I leave the front half inch or so of hair at my hairline out of the rollers.
Then, I blow dry and flat iron the rest of my hair, and maybe put my makeup on. I also spray the roots of my hair while still in the rollers.
This may sound complicated, but it actually goes very quickly, and it's easy. I'm only using three or four rollers at the top of my head and using the wand style dryer is a lot easier than working a round brush with a separate dryer. These dryers also make it easy to really pull and stretch the roots of your hair around the brush attachment of the dryer, That's what really builds the body and lift. My hair ends up looking pretty close to a pro blow dry.

I got a root perm in China 5 months ago, but it definitely wasn't the same as this one. They didn't use these kind of rolls but braided the roots on the underneath layers of the hair in tiny tight braids. The results were really weird and not that great, my hair basically turned coarse as every strand of hair kept the shape of the tiny braids, I couldn't run my hands through it. I couldn't put my hair on one side as it would reveal it and it was really weird looking, as if my hair was all tangled at the roots.
Now it has grown out to ear length and it's still the same, I have 3cm of coarse hair in between my straight hair.
I have very fine hair but I don't believe this has damaged it. The only thing is that my hair breaks easily, and when I brush it out it grips to the brush and breaks more hair than usual.
