I'm afraid that if I had been on the show, I would have guessed the answer, but only written the first part of the required response. I would have forgotten that based on the name of the category, the response had to be in the form of "(blank) of (blank)".
As someone who studied the Renaissance, I'm disappointed I didn't get this. Some of the names Ken mentioned in the background information were in Elizabethan literature, too!
Confessions: I didn't understand that clue and wouldn'a gotten it anyway if I did! Once Colleen's wager was revealed, though, it made sense! Now I know. 😎
I notice that some channels have a feature, where you have to swipe to see a comment. Jeopardy should do that, so I never have to read the obligatory and simultaneously ubiquitous, "to prevent spoilers" comment.
I agree they should do this so those anti-spoiler comments would no longer be necessary. The problem is the people who just post answers to ruin it for others (instead of having the answer later in the comment), then have bots upvote them to make it so someone on mobile will have it ruined for them before they even read the clue. It would be great if you could understand this.
Did she not read the category? Zero excuse for a second chance player to not comprehend the "____ of ____" requested format. I would be way more forgiving if it was her first rodeo...
How is this not family friendly? The word "lovers" is not taboo and doesn't bring about sexual images to a 9 y/o... Also I thought this was a fun clue.
@BlueCrystalTear Family friendly to me means the entire family is able to take part in guessing the clue, and getting it correct! Just like the US Presidents or US History categories.
I dislike it when a runaway winner doesn't attempt an answer. The criminally arrogant Holzhauer made that popular and it's become banal. Write a real answer even if you wager nothing.
1: It isn’t even close to a runaway yet, considering it’s the first day of a 2-day finals. 2: A $0 wager makes writing a real answer pointless, since there’s no monetary gain or loss. 3: The person with the runaway can do whatever they want. 4: Will was paying tribute to a dead friend. Combining all of these together just makes you seem like an a__. Grow up.

Got it right away. Out of intuition. Proud of myself today.
High-five. So did I
Congrats
Isn't it fun to feel smarter than finalists? For a minute, anyway!😂
Isn’t it such a good feeling to get Final Jeopardy correct?
I can't believe they gave them a fill in the blank for final
And only one of them even tried to fill in the blanks properly lol.
I got it wrong, but that was a good question!
I got this one right.
Are the clues provided when Ken Jennings generally more challenging than when Trebek hosted? I’m not including Celebrity Jeopardy, of course.
I got easily enough. Thanks Galileo
That is what I was thinking tonight. It had to be something that he discovered in that time period.

Carl Sagan pronounced one of them EE-oh. Not EYE-oh. He also never pronounced the _Young Frankenstein_ character EYE-gor either.

"moons of planets" at first, then realized that they probably wanted a more specific answer, and thought "moons of Jupiter."
I was thinking moons as well, but for Saturn

Felt like a really easy tournament final clue
Made a last second guess that turned out to be right. Written in the stars, I guess.
I was blanking on this until I realized the category and then immediately knew the answer.
I got this clue right away.

Galileo was one of four lovers of Jupiter.
Easy.
Galileo was Jupiter's lover? That must be one of the later myths.
Galileo? He discovered them but was not one of Jupiter's lovers!

Any idea what the category is supposed to mean?
It’s a science clue (although that’s the easy part to understand), and the correct response follows the format “what are the ____ of _______”
