      I think you got those swapped around. AGG's home is the prairie, not New England. The author did it the opposite, and they lived in New England.

Kinda helps I studied him, read many books, watched Docs, and wrote 3 diff papers on him when I was in school. I think back then FDR's first term, he was sworn in on March ??, 1933. Hitler came to power end of Jan 1933. ......... There's a Jeopardy Q for you: "name the one U.S. President who served a full term in office but DID NOT serve a full 4 years? I forget which term, maybe 1st to 2nd, for FDR. Cuz next term he was sworn in on Jan 20th (they changed it). So March ?? To Jan 20 is less than a full year, so term was less than 4 full years.

    Honestly, I’m completely befuddled that none of the contestants got “Who is(/was) Hitler?”. Hitler took power January 30, 1933, FDR took power as US PotUS March 4, 1933; FDR died April 12, 1945, Hitler ended his life April 30, 1945.

      The seat was vacant not because Johnson resigned when Tennessee seceded but because Lincoln appointed him as Military Governor of Tennessee in 1862 and put him in control of land that the Union forces had reclaimed in battles. He also was re-elected to that same senate seat in 1875 but only served a few months of the term before he died. He is the only President to serve in the Senate after serving as President.

    Several years ago, Alex announced the Final Jeopardy catagory as "Five Letter Words" [sounds simple enough??].
    The clue went like this: "The word 'telephone' was first part of Websters Dictionary in its 1892 edition. This related word also made its debut in the same edition." I had no idea of the proper response, and the contestants wrote: "phone", "phone", "?" [nothing]. Alex said the correct response is "Hello". Everyone was surprised to realize that such a common word today was an obscure colloquialism not warrenting a dictionary entry in years past. The word was promoted by Alexander Graham Bell as a proper short and efficient greeting for telephone use, rather than the formal but elaborate "Good morning, how is your day" etc that unnecessarily tied up too much early precious phone line time.

    • @FastEddy1959
      @FastEddy1959 29 днів тому +2

Not to mention one that I new (Texas), one that I was able to guess (Anthony Hopkins), another that I didn't guess right but was in my short list of possibilities (Hitler), and one that in the question narrowed it down to only a dozen possible options (there aren't that many southern states). All three players have left for nothing except for a total of $10,000 with no money at all (zero dollars, that is.) I'm surprised they don't have much. But that's all right. They only got $10,000 for their charity, along with Alex bidding farewell to the three contestants who got every question wrong. They missed several correct responses in order to pay off these amounts of their ridiculously empty and low score which means they get to take home 10 grand and split the dough right here in the middle. And remember, no one is leaving empty-handed. Especially with one or two players remaining at the end of Jeopardy.

      That was a genius move if they planned it, by all finishing tied at $0 they guaranteed that all three charities would get the money.

      @@haweater1555: They’re breaking up the ‘e’ and the ‘a’ in the middle into 2 separate sounds. At first, the pronunciation made no sense to me, but I think that’s what they are doing. I finally got it, I think.

    There is a technically inaccurate point regarding Anthony Hopkins portraying 2 US Presidents... His portrayal of John Quincy Adams was NOT of President John Quincy Adams, but of Adams as a Lawyer more than a decade after he left the Presidency... Tis a bit "picky" but... Occasionally the Show gets a bit "picky" when it comes to answers, so I felt... What the Hey...

    3:49, Is that a loophole in Jeopardy?
    If, on the final question, all three contestants wager all their money and all get the question wrong, Then they each get 10,000 for playing.

      No, I think usually when there’s a tie at $0 at the end, its as simple as nobody returns next show. However, as that was a special Celebrity Jeopardy! show, the minimum that would go to each of their charities was $10,000 if their total was ≤ that.
