Made it today. OMG! so moist and tender! Flavor permeated the loin. One of my best Loins ever. That butter rub works amazingly. I kinda did my own version of the spices I added to the butter, But Wow! that's the way to go.

i'm giving mine a go. i used the now-discontinued kirkland no-salt seasoning as part of the rub, marinate overnight....then wrapped with thick cut applewood bacon. got the easybbq bluetooth probes going. my first go at this. used to use slow cooker or oven, sometimes gas grill.

You can always cover the drip pan in foil. When done, fold it up after allowing the drippings to dry onto the foil. Crunch it into a ball and then you can easily dispose of the whole drippings mess and not end up putting any grease down your drain when washing the drip pan. You were concerned in a previous video about grease being put down the drain when washing the dirty pans or such.

You nailed that Pork Loin John! And you are exactly right when you say people tend to get a little nervous about eating Pork when it is a little pink but a little pink means a lot of moist Flavor! I like mine at 153 to 155 after resting and I do Center Cut Pork Chops the same as well. I like mine laid on top of Mashed Potatoes with Dressing, (Stuffing) on the side and Gravy. I would choose this over a Steak any day!!!

Take a look at my comments above. As an award winning retired chef this oven is da bomb! I’ve done my homework quite extensively. Be aware, buy the SMART version (especially if you plan on cooking a lot of meat), when you can. It’s only available in limited quantities and during my numerous phone conversations with Shark Ninja, they know very little about it and when or if at all they’ll ever get it. It may just remain a limited edition version ONLY available at Amazon🇺🇸. Good luck and Happy cooking 🧑‍🍳.

Sorry John I am still playing catch up on all your videos, so my comments are very late after they were made & Posted.
I can relate to this video. I also made that "Trial & Error" mistake at putting the potatoes and other veggies in way too soon, and ended up putting them in a warmer also.
Now here is what I am thinking, do 80% of the Loin cook time, then put in the potatoes for 10%, then slather up corn on the cob with the same butter & herbs mixture,, put those in with the rest, and cook another 10% of the time.
I really think I would be in "HOG" heaven with that meal [get it? Hog Heaven"? lol

Those pork loins are a great bargain. I bought one at Sam’s once that was longer than my arm, and it was only about $1/lb. But unless you are cooking for your whole church, you need to be ready with your FoodSaver and a plan how you are going to cut it up, bag it and freeze it. I usually like to buy as few other groceries as I can when buying something like that, unless I just want to leave everything else in the car until after I get that packed away. This time of year that’s not much of an issue because in a couple weeks the garage and the fridge will be at the same temperature.

@@JohnSanders Those pork drippings are incredible. I did some ribs last week in my Foodi, pressure cooking them first and then Air Crisping them for a few minutes at the end according to one of your previous videos. I saved the water from the pressure cooker and did some simple ramen noodles in it the next day. It was as good as a wonton soup from a restaurant. Nothing added but the stupid spice pack from the ramen. I am seriously going to get an ice cube tray and freeze that pressure cooker water up into cubes that I can have whenever I want. So I know those potatoes soaked up that juice and loved it.

I made this the other night and ended up with a smokey mess. I had to finish it in the regular oven. I assume it's the butter, but not 100%. The manual mentions not to use butter to avoid the smoke. Still came out decent enough though. Just curious if you had any other ideas on why mine got smokey and yours didn't. Love the channel, you've given me lots of ideas on what to do with this thing.

I'm not sure why the Ninja oven would smoke and your regular oven not assuming the same temp was used but I will say that butter does have a low smoke point of around 325 but I don't usually have a problem even at 350... but it does smoke a little... nothing worse than cooking burgers or steaks in either method... but maybe the type butter you used may have played a roll... not really sure but glad to hear you enjoy the videos and thank you for commenting...

@@JohnSanders after doing a thorough cleaning of the oven, I think the main issue was that it splattered onto the heating elements on the top and that was where the smoke was coming from. Might have been fine had I put the pork on the bottom level. Oh well, still happy with this oven and will adjust the recipe for next time.

Take the potatoes and put the pan on top of the unit and pop them back in five minutes as the rose is resting. You do like your meat over cooked for sure.

Here's a different recipe for pork loin.... stuff it with dried apricots, smother it in Dijon mustard and coat it in crushed pork rinds or panko

John I enjoyed the video. After watching many of your videos on the Ninja® Foodi™ 10-in-1 XL Pro Air Fry Oven, I ordered one on November 10 from Ninja website and received it on the November 12, 2020. Today November 13, I unboxed the DT201 and noticed there was ‘no’ splatter shield screen installed, or hardware for a splatter shield on the rear inside of the oven as mentioned in your UA-cam video (around 5:33 min/sec in) on “Ninja Foodi XL Pro OVEN Air Fryer Toaster oven Unboxing + Toast Test + 2 Pizza's at One Time” dated September 25, 2020. There was ‘no’ separate half-sheet insert paperwork about a splatter shield or cleaning, nor does the manual included with the oven talk about a splatter shield or cleaning.
I called Ninja and they told me the ovens do not have any splatter shield screen installed; only the Ninja Foodi Grills have this feature. I tried to explain to the Ninja representative I have watched many UA-cam videos on the Air Fry Oven (DT200/201) and there is as splatter shield screen on those ovens in those videos, but she say not. I have a Ninja Foodi Grill so I am familiar with the splatter shield screen.
QUESTION: Could you provide any insight to this issue about the splatter screen not being there as shown in your video? I can send you a picture of the inside rear oven without any splatter screen or hardware for it, if you want. Thanking you in advance!

Someone else told me the same thing earlier today... I guess they have decided it didn't need it... but if ninja told you it doesn't need it then I would assume it is ok...

Not harping but I sell meat... if you're going to explain the difference between a tenderloin and a pork loin, EXPLAIN the difference...not that "one is larger" or "this costs more"...talk about the cuts, where it's from, how to cook it...
(quoting here): the Pork Tenderloin is the muscle that runs alongside the backbone of the animal. It lends itself to be cooked quickly, with high heat. Tenderloin is lean, delicately flavored meat. It is the most tender cut of pork if you are quick-cooking it.
Pork loin is a large piece of meat, so you can get it cut to order. It is from the animal's back. Pork Loin can be boneless or bone in-- cut in to steaks, etc. It lends itself well to slow-roasting or grilling methods. Pork loin is best grilled over moderate heat or seared then slow roasted in the oven...
